Rune's childhood was poor but loving. Born on Corellia during the war, his parents were barely able to keep food on the table for their large family of eight children. His mother worked at a dirty cantina, and his father worked at the shipyards during the day and more nefarious operations at night. Rune, the oldest, started working as a child and always sent money back home to his family.
As a teenager, Rune was hired on as a shipyard jockey, running around and helping the mechanics in whatever way he could. He learned quite a bit and had a knack for machines and computers. He was quickly noticed by the shipyard owners and was hired on as a full mechanic at 16.
Growing older, Rune started following work wherever it led him. It seemed that credits were hard to come by. This led him to brush shoulders with some less than desirable individuals, which rubbed him the wrong way. However, he was making just enough money to help put his siblings into a decent school and Rune continued to take whatever job he could.
Not well known, Rune grew into a capable mechanic and engineer and over sever years served on several ships of various sizes.
Rune is a softy at heart, but tends to cover it with a cold exterior. With close friends, who are hard to find, he is warm and gregarious, but he keeps everyone else at bay, seeming rather aloof.
His motivation is to send money home to his family. He is altruistic, and can come across severe, yet will always help those who are in dire need.
Protective over his stuff, Rune will shout and yell at whomever interferes with his work. Perhaps this stems from not having much growing up and wanting to control what little he can. He is an extremely hard worker.
Tends to live minimally. He won't be one to order expensive drinks or buy new clothes.
Engineering is his forte. He can keep a ship running and fix a lot on board a ship. He is creative and intuitive when it comes to machines and processes.
Slicing is a learned love. As ships become more and more integrated with computers, Rune has learned his way around circuits. While heavy encryption is beyond his reach, slicing a door or a computer would not take much effort, only time.
Rune is rather poor with a blaster and has no formal training. He wears a pistol on his hip as a deterrent and hopes he will never have to use it. He's never killed anyone. He has learned a bit about explosives and how to man a gun on a ship.
Not a charmer, and has no desire to be a people person or a politician
