YESRyder Blane was a Force-sensitive human male Sith cultist from Alsakan who numbered among the ranks of the Legionnaires in the Sith Eternal.
Biography
Ryder eventually was enrolled at the Alsakan Academy, where he studied galactic history and religion. When the opportunity came, he volunteered to give one of his class reports on the Sith. Despite the reluctance of his instructor (the Sith were a sore subject in the Core), Ryder used the Academy's resources to deepen his research into the Sith and came out on the other side believing the cult wasn't dead. He had no conclusive evidence; but he believed the Sith's tendency to rebirth, either from the ranks of the Jedi Order or out of the dark reaches of the Unknown Regions, meant that some remnant of the cult must have survived Palpatine's demise.
During his presentation, Ryder's findings and assertions were challenged by another student: a personal rival of his named Cal Reach, whose family had a long history of Jedi lineage. Cal posited that the Sith could not possibly have survived due to the practice of the Rule of Two—of whom Palpatine was the last observer. Angered by what he perceived as a slight and an embarrassment in class, Ryder decided to go to the extreme. He would set off into the far reaches of the Outer Rim in search of the Sith and prove once and for all that they had survived, as he had argued.
Personality and traits
Though the Sith have been dead for a century, Ryder is the embodiment of their philosophy. He is motivated only by those things that will directly benefit him, or will contribute to the growth of his personal power, and has little to no concern for the lives that are destroyed in the process. He hungers for power above all else, despises embarrassment and weakness (both in himself and others), and strives to become strong enough where neither affect him any longer.
Ryder has a short patience and is easy to anger. However, his anger is not as explosive as some of his Sith predecessors. Instead, it simmers and grows beneath the surface—to be used as a weapon in combat, rather than to be theatrical. He also lacks a typical human conscious. Killing leaves him feeling nothing and he will happily force a life to expire if it means that a loose end is tied or an experiment of his achieves success. That said, he is not an indiscriminate killer and is not without loyalty. He will show loyalty to those that prove useful to him and only kills when necessary.
Powers and abilities
Additionally, his greatest talent is as a TIE pilot and he is trained specifically to pilot the formidable TIE/D Defender starfighter bomber. His Force-enhanced reflexes and intuition make him more deadly in the air than he is on the ground and more effective as a TIE pilot than most non-Force sensitive pilots.
