Born on the planet Alderaan, Ryder was raised as a normal child in his younger years and was raised by a single father who would care for him dearly. Being an only child, Ryder and his father had a great connection and love for one another. His father always knew he had force potential, but he couldn't go on to become a jedi as he was too busy working and caring for his son. He knew that since the boy was young, he had force potential, but did not tell Ryder because he wanted him to live a normal life with him. When Ryder eventually found out he had force powers, he begged his father to let him be a jedi, as he had heard the stories and rumors of the mighty powerful jedi, he wanted to be like them. It took years for his father to finally let him be trained as a jedi initiate, and to his disdain, allowed him to attend the jedi academy and begin training.

When he reached the jedi academy he began training right away with many of the other younglings who attended the academy. He made a close friend, who he would remain close friends with until his unfortunate passing. His name was Zane Hollow. Zane and Ryder were troublemakers in the class, and spent a lot of time out time. They both needed to learn discipline if they ever hoped to become a true jedi, is what the instructure would always tell the young boys. Zane learned before Ryder, and would act more respectfully and disciplined than Ryder. Ryder, who was jealous of the admiration the teachers had for Zane, began being much more respectful and disciplined. A rivalry between Zane and Ryder grew, and they both began growing stronger and learning more than they had ever before. They sharpened each other and helped each other grow through a friendly rivalry.

After years of training was complete, it was time for the young jedi to build his own lightsaber. Using parts he found scatterec across his home planet, he crafted his very own blue lightsaber, taking on the path of a jedi guardian. The Knighting process came soon, a rough conflict between the Jedi Exiles and the Jedi Order was taking place, and the Order was dispatching as much troops as they could muster to help join. Ryder, being nearly top of his class, met a fellow Jedi Knight by the name of Debrah Quills. Debrah was exceptionally skilled with both lightsaber combat and the force. She was wise and helpful, teaching Ryder many important lessons he still carries with him today. Both Ryder and Debrah were immediately thrown into the field to join the fight again the Jedi Exiles.

Debrah both trained him in practical ways, along with the force and of the lightsaber. Debrah had incredible dexterity, and would pass on much of her knowledge to Ryder, teaching him many things. Ryder was very emotional, and often channeled his emotions into his work. Debrah would work with him on how to channel his emotions for good and how to maintain a calm state of mind in most situations and to be one with the force at all times. Ryder also taught Debrah many important lessons about combat and the force. As iron sharpens iron, Debrah and Ryder formed a bond of trust and true friendship.

Debrah and Ryder were sent on a mission to the planet Geonosis to thwart an ongoing slave operation and to rescue the hostages being held by the Exiles on the planet. When they arrived, both Debrah and Ryder could feel the dark presence clouding the area. Debrah ordered Ryder to stay behind and she went off the continue the mission. After a while, growing impatient and worried, Ryder left the vessel and made his way into the location. To his shock, he would find Debrah completely unarmed and incapacitated on the ground, surrounded by three dark figures, each with red lightsabers. As one began to lift his sword, he watched in horror as the hooded figure plunged the blade into her stomach. He screamed in rage and agony, it could be heard from everywhere, as it pierced through the silent crimson sky. All of the cloaked demons turned around to see the young boy.

In rage and anger, Ryder would jump to the level of the three demons. Making eye contact with the traitors of the order, his eyes showed true hatred and despair. Releasing a bright crackling blue beam of light, he readied his stance as the crimson blades slowly made their own formation ready to advance on the enraged Jedi. In what seemed like a split second, letting out a roaring scream, Ryder lunged onto the perpotrators, blue and crimsom painted the horizon, the clashing of light, back and forth the battle went. Eventually, plunging his sword into the heart of one, the other two were now left. Every strike was filled with rage. He killed the other two, showing no mercy. After slaying the enemies, realizing what he had done, he quickly ran over to Debrah, where he would cry over her, as he realized she was already gone. He lost a friend, a mentor, he lost someone he loved.

He would eventually return to the Jedi Temple where he told the news of his Debrah's death and those who killed her. Overcome with rage and sadness, he would battle with his emotions and try to contain them. In his state of anger and depression, he trained endlessly and brutally, the same clip playing over and over again in his head, of his friend's death. He would grow more powerful as he continued fighting in the field, the innocent boy he once was would soon be clouded by the heart of a soldier. He adapted his anger into his combat, the mix between the crimson and the blue...

In one of his many fights with the exiles, he would lose his blue lightsaber in the process, and he was determined to gather a new lightsaber. Obtaining a kyber crystal from the jedi masters, he embarked on a journey to find pieces for the body of his lightsaber. Connecting with the force, it led him to find the pieces that he so desired to construct his perfect blade. He did not see a lightsaber as a tool, Ryder saw it as an extension of his body, just like the force, he felt one with his lightsaber.

The parts of his lightsaber were finished. Now it was time to construct the weapon. The colors of red and blue, dark and light, power and control, mixed together, create the color purple. Anger and peace within the boy made the crystal bleed, the red and blue colors clashing, creating a powerful purple. The blade was finished. A balance in the extremes of the force, that was who Ryder was, that is what he is.

PERSONALITY

What once was a carefree and goofball personality, would soon be replaced with a much colder and hardened one. His innocent eyes, replaced with much shaper, stern eyes. He was a soldier, a killing machine fed into the grinding wheels of the Jedi Order. A time of war was no time to sit and meditate in a temple reading a book, a time of war is dedicated to killing your enemy, something he was very good at. While he is much different from his previous self, it isn't to say he is completely cold and heartless. Sometimes he can show warmth, but not to just anyone that he comes into contact with.

He has a cocky and somewhat arrogant attitude when he is dealing with an opponent, many times mocking them, but never truly underestimates a foe and makes sure he is performing to his best ability. He has temperamental issues and goes through spells of aggression and anger. He is young and still has much to learn, and takes things day by day and lives his life to the fullest, even if that means sometimes breaking jedi code. It is not known what will happen to him in the many years left of his life that has yet to be explored.

Please read both the Jedi Faction write up and timeline of events leading up to the start of the TL. The rank of Padawan was dissolved around 30 years before the beginning of TL. As a member of the Jedi, we would have received some training depending on how old he was but would have been promoted directly to Jedi Knight as soon as possible and sent to war.

Look those documents and make some tweaks to the bio to bring it in line with those. Tag me and I will come back and check it out!

A couple more things, You have a line that says he returned the Coruscant. There is no Jedi presence on Coruscant so it doesn't make much sense for him to return there to notify the Jedi of his mentor's death. Also, all lightsaber crystals are Kyber Crystals in the new Disney Canon. There are no longer any special crystals used. The color is dependent on the Jedi who bonds with the crystal. So you can have a purple lightsaber, but it would contain a normal Kyber.

Is it good now?

Hey there! One more thing Raydo didn't mention. Naboo this TL is actually not civilized at this point and is made up of mostly primitive Gungans.

Alrighty, taking a closer look, it's a tad unlikely that ryder could've taken on three exiles and slain all of them. Perhaps lower it to just one, that'd be more reasonable for a level 1 character. Another thing though...Ryder seems to be walking the line between Light and Dark rather closely. After having unleashed such anger and rage and despair when killing the Exile, he definitely would have dipped into the use of the Dark Side to fuel his battle frenzy. One doesn't simply walk away from the taint of the Dark Side like that, and to be quite honest it'd make a bit more sense for him to actually be an exile the way you have his backstory at the moment. You might want to edit it, as right now it's a bit extreme for a Jedi.

Using both the Light and the Dark without being affected or entirely corrupted is simply impossible. Please read this thread for a better understanding on why grey jedi do not exist. Also if you've found anyone who use both the Light and the Dark sides of the force as you mention, please let me know.

Okay, Kal Vox?

His character comes very close between the light and the dark and he was approved without question.

I don't understand how if someone comes close between light and dark that immediately means they should be considered an exile. Especially considering there is an entire branch called the Jedi Shadows where those kinds of Jedi exist, especially in times of war.

I'm sure there may even be other Jedi that channel their emotions into their force for good, sure they may not be Jedi Consulars of peace and pacifism, but they still fight for the order.

EDIT: I do understand where wording comes in though, Kal Vox did word his much better than I did in mine.
