Any necessary personnel can be NPC'd within reason - you can't create an army for yourself, but you can create any operative if their presence makes sense in the mission you're in.

Round One of promotions:

For an excellent combat record and deadly battlefield prowess, C5 Gar is now a Charlie Seven.

For her tactical mastery, communications and combat skill, C8 Hallen is now a Bravo Five.

For his rapid gains and ability to adapt to combat situations on-the-fly, C1 Veetor is now a Charlie Five.

For his exceptional squad leadership, sense of camaraderie and lethal aim, C7 Alenko is now a Charlie Ten.

And, finally, for his unmatched boarding skill, close-combat aptitude and deadly battlefield decision-making, as well as a perfect leadership record with no personnel losses, C7 Baker is now an Alpha One.

May I request we use Army equivalent ranks alongside the Alpha Numerical ranking?

SOLAG members come from both the Republic and Navy; our numerical ranks and designations are what make us special. All of our characters hold parallel ranks, but I see no reason to do so and I'd really rather we didn't.

Not to be harsh, but that wouldn't make sense. It would get too confusing, seeing how (as Whest pointed out) we have Army and Navy members - their ranks are different. Hell, now that I'm including indie characters, it's pointless to try to fit everyone to another ranking scheme when we can develop our own that's suited to our needs.

That's just where I stand on it, at least.

No, I'd prefer we keep to the *phonetic*-*number* scheme. It's what makes most sense from an IC perspective.
