Salvation

''She was the only survivor, i've never seen so much blood and negative energy. She told me that to her, it was a light show, both terrifying and bright. And then there was silence. I found her in the arms of a dieing woman, before she passed, I could hear but only one word. It was in Miralukese....it means Salvation.'' - Jedi Master Iber Tass.

Like all of her people, Salvation saw the universe for what it truly was, pure, untamed and beautiful energy. While such a strong connection to the force is common among the Miraluka, it would surely not go unnoticed. Born on a small colony on the inner mid-rim, she was immediately welcomed into a loving home. Her mother and father were both prestigious artists, her mother was a painter who utilized archaic methods and tools to partake in her craft while her father was an accomplished writer who enriched her homeland with wonderful stories and epic poetry. They were well respected among their kind and yet were extremely poor in terms of income, they just weren't on the right planet for their particular passions. While Salvation was still pure and still in the very beginning of her youth, they acquired many credits overtime, some sums larger then others and all of their origins as shrouded as the last. Eventually they gathered enough funds to make their way off world, for a one-way push to the core, in the hopes that they would find happiness their as they did in their home but with the tools to secure their lifestyle. There was a time when she hated her parents for that...their passion. It could only lead to darkness, for themselves and for her.

They slay the pilot first or at least that's what her saviors surmised, from her baffling description, she was only three years old at the time, still coming to terms with her ability to see through the force. Perhaps it was to make an example to the rest of the crew, that if they did not adhere to their demands that further bloodshed would be necessary. There where many theories among the Jedi Council as to who the culprits where, slavers, desperate smugglers, pirates, mercenaries and all of them of varying factions and beliefs. All of them more ruthless then the last. Her father was never found, tests where performed on the bodies just to make sure, if only just for the sake of her fragile sanity. He had been captured and taken away, never to be seen again, as had many others judging from the crew manifest taken at the beginning of their foolish journey. It was their, in the absence of her father and in a pool of her mothers blood that she shed her origins, it was there that she became Salvation, among the dead and lost. While there was a time she hated them for their desperation, she shed all notions of disdain when she realized that if it wasn't for her father and mothers protection, she would've been lost among the bodies that littered the ships floor.

It is said among ancient teachings that a moment in time, can unlock the greatest potential in any one being. Among her many teachers, they believed that the severe trauma experienced in that moment, onboard the ship known only as 'Charity', caused her to stop being the daughter of two failed artists and forced her to become an acolyte of Ashla, the light side of the force. The energy she had taken for granted for such a long time slowly became her life. She learned to utilize her gift and overtime became particular adept at manipulating objects around her for her various needs, at a shockingly young age. Something she had never truly come to terms with at a young age where her abilities with a lightsaber, to the behest of her many teachers and various mentors. She did not socialize with many of her peers except for one girl, whom she nicknamed Ally due to their dependance on one another when it came to their studies of galactic history and war. They would speak for hours and debate for days about this political agenda or this battlefield tactic, they were some of the most enjoyable hours she spent at the Jedi Academy on Coruscant. She built up quite a repore with her swordplay mentor and savior Jedi Master Iber Tass. He had been the first one to board Charity once his diplomatic vessel picked up their distress beacon, he was a Zabrak with deep charcoal skin and various blue tattoos that littered his striking physique, he was in his prime when he rescued her, one of the youngest Masters of the order.

He would constantly remark and make reference to Salvation's skills when it came to the levitation and manipulation of her surroundings. Much to her dismay, she didn't receive praise and compliments well, she felt she couldn't live up to many of their expectations. She was a girl of infinite modesty and considering her dark background she was surprisingly cheerful given the circumstances. Highly observant and deeply analytical, she was always overthinking her situation in life, she possessed a deeply existential outlook which was a cuase of many issues with her masters, considering how deeply religious the order was.

Her connection the force was discovered on the very ship Iber Tass had found her on, when he sauntered towards her, she reached out and removed a chain that hung around the old Zabracks neck, when asked about this at an older age she said the force was emanating from it, stronger than anything else she'd seen in her life at the time. It was littered with crystals, some of which Iber had eventually fashioned into his own blue lightsaber. The fact that she had observed this and was able to make it float towards her was reported as one of the most baffling and beautiful things he had ever come across in his time as a Jedi Knight. She was immediately taken into the fold and Iber Tass eventually became her legal guardian as a gift to her on her eleventh birthday. He had always been a father figure, it seemed befitting and appropriate but was protested greatly by the council, considering their issue with emotions clouding the judgment of any of their students. Her attachment to her step father and mentor was greater even then the bond of friendship she had formed with her confidant Ally. She went on many adventures with both of her dear associates, accomplishing various missions and tasks for the order. All of varying difficulty and intense dangers.

Eventually she became a Padawan to Master Tass, much to her profound joy. The council were reluctant at first but came to the realization that if she where to adhere to the teachings of anyone in the order and obery their every command, it would be Iber Tass. He was also in need of a padawan as during his time as Jedi Master, he had never taken one due to his own lack of self belief, but Salvation made sure to supply him with the necessary motivation to become her watcher and most important teacher. Overtime Tass informed her that his own master had been lost in a great battle that had been fought before her time, on a moon deep in the outer mid-rim. After the battle was finished, they scoured the entire world for days to no avail, that had deemed him killed in action and honoured him with a typical Jedi ceremony in his honour, their tradition was of course to burn the bodies of those lost with a gathering of appropriate members of the dead ones life, but no body was found, so short prayers where uttered and even tears where shed. Iber did not take it well and confessed that while on his ship in the mid-rim, and when he stumbled across her ship, he was actually searching for his master regardless of the Council's wishes for him to let go of the past.

''Relying on the past and surrendering to your emotions can only lead to the darkness. Which is trouble you've not yet known. Heed my words, become the finest warrior of Ashla this galaxy has ever known.

There was a particular mission to small colony in the Core where two bands of rival Zabrak soldiers where battling over who owned the land they called their home. During their reconnaissance Salvation asked that she be adorned with her own tattoos, in honour of her masters grand teachings, eventually he reluctantly agreed and did so on that very mission. Tattoos where applied around her eyes and down her chin and on other various parts of her body, it was a very intimate and profoundly beautiful ceremony, as battle raged below and the night sky was a light withe all the splendor of the galaxy up above. They where simplistic designs but served to chronicle her previous ventures in life, most prominently the loss of her kin and her will to press onward and become a warrior. By this time she had chosen the old ways of Miralukan apparel an decided to cover her exposed eye sockets so as not to alarm those she traveled with her came across on her adventures, judging from the rest of her face and physique however, she slowly became an extremely beautiful woman, much to the dismay of the male jedi in their order.

She earned the rank of Jedi Knight after she quelled a revolution against a government body that was vital to the economic security of the entire galactic republic, saving her master from captivity and torture in the process. This victory and honour was short lived however as immediately after their return to Coruscant, they where sent out on one last mission, before some much needed rest and meditation for many weeks. Their goal was unclear, but they were to travel to an uncharted moon, close to the very edge of known space. The moon was littered with dark forests and constantly bombarded by various lightning and rain storms, forest fires were common. As they scouted out an ancient temple they had discovered upon their arrival, they happened upon a familiar face for Iber Tass one that brought him a bittersweet joy as he felt in his very core the amount of dark energy that emanated from this figure. It was his old master, returned from the dead or perhaps he had just been lost for all those years previously. He was what had caused the disturbance in the force that the council wanted to be investigated.

They fought for hours. Salvation had chosen to emulate her master when forging her own blade, utilizing the very blue crystals she had noticed all those years ago aboard 'Charity'. She still struggled with swordplay, but she held her own against all odds, he was exceptionally skilled and the storms and various vicious wildlife hindered the situation further. Eventually, atop an ancient temple long forgotten by the galaxy, her master was slain right before her eyes, she had no time to say goodbye, for he was killed instantly, his last sight was of his pupil, picking up his own lightsaber and adding it to her arsenal. She fought furiously with both blades, all of a sudden her skill was unmatched as she beat down her new found enemy, the murderer of the only father she had ever truly known. Eventually the coward fled, she named him Damnation, as it was the last word she heard uttered from the mouth of her lost master, whom had been particularly adept at using the force to see the future, the paranoia of his last thoughts were not lost on her, she would never know what he saw. She only that she would eventually defeat his old master, whether it would be with her blade or her masters, she did not know.

Did you also ask Sreeya permission?

I believe her post in this thread pretty much answers that question, I had a knight before, I assume we're still continuing the same rule we always have that you can't create a character of a certain rank unless you've held that rank before, and you can't gain a rank unless given one by your superior in an RP.

For future ref: I'd like to be asked/informed before someone starts with a Knight, regardless of whether they've had one in the past or not.

Any crit on the profile itself anyone? The ending is pretty rushed, but it's supposed to be open.

Grammar wise, it could use some work... less commas would be a good start - especially in the ending paragraph. There are a couple missing words and some misspellings as well.

As for the character herself, reading through that profile brought the word 'overpowered' to mind, since you've basically said that she's better with a lightsaber then a Jedi Master and is more advanced in the Force as well <.<.

But that could just be my impression.
