(Seen here with a number of pouches, and a knife in a sheath)

Affiliation:
N/A

Ownership:
Sarith Zarmer

Intent:
Sarith isn't as much a stand-up fighter as he is more a clandestine operator who only brings big guns to bare when he has to. As a result this vest is designed to be worn under a hoodie or coat, while still maintaining some modular nature for things such as storage pockets and explosives to be secured to it for use. While OOCly it is one of a kind, ICly I imagine it being a vest used by police on Iziz (likely bought black-market or stolen during his prison escape). As his primary means of defense against enemy fire and blades outside of clothes and the age old tactic of not being there when the blow hits, this is obviously a vital piece of his equipment. To avoid it being too powerful, as note, I've included some Phrik in the design, but for every place there is Phrik, there are areas that could be exploited that have no protection even comparable, as an OOC balance.

Model:
One of a kind

Weight:
2.5kg, unloaded (no additional pockets, no ballistic plates)
3.2kg, loaded (ballistic plates only, not accounting for ammo or equipment)

Composition:
The vest itself is composed of a kevlar weave designed to protect against knife or needle-like weapons, as well as light shrapnel such as the kind one might encounter from a ricocheting round or small explosions. The shoulder guards, which are removable, are a structured kevlare "sleeve" with Phrik sheets at their core to make the vest resistant to lightsaber strikes coming from above (though offering no protection from an upward stroke, which would let them hit Sarith's exposed arm and likely sever it). It also has .5inx.5in squares of Phrik located along the spinal column to try and compromise between flexibility and protection. It has three ballistic plates as well, with two at the front (on either side of the zipper), and one at the back (underneath the Phrik squares) with all three being removable from pouches on the inside of the vest. They are rated effective against most slug-throwing pistols and some rifles at ranges of 45 meters or more, and designed to be effective against blaster pistols at ranges of 40 meters or greater. As a side, there is a layer between the innermost cloth and the outside of the vest designed to dissipate electrical energy from shock-batons or similar weapons.

Rating: On a 1-10 scale, with all measurements made on the assumption that ballistic plates are inserted, and that the hit (singular, since this vest is not designed to take a sustained barage) is direct.
Needle-like weapons: 7
Blade weapons: 8
Lightsaber-style weapons: 3
Shock: 4
Light shrapnel: 8
Heavy shrapnel: 6
Small-arms, ballistic, at >45m: 8
Small-arms, ballistic, at <45m: 4
Small-arms, blasters, at >40m: 9
Small-arms, blasters, at <40m: 5
Heavy weapons*, at >45m: 3
Heavy weapons*, at <45m: 1

*: Regardless of whether blasters or ballistic in nature.

Description:
This is a vest designed for a man with two very specific needs: the first is that he has to be able to still move quietly and efficiently while wearing it, possibly concealed. The second is that it has to be just modular enough that he can modify it with additional pouches to participate in (hopefully) short-term stand-up fights should he need to. It is basically designed on the principal that the wearer generally shouldn't be in the area of impact when the blow is coming but that this can keep them alive in case they slip up, long enough to get away. To start with, its appearance is black, with a dark tan secondary color, and the interior material is colored gunmetal gray. The reason for those colors is entirely aesthetic and in no way involved in performance of the vest. It can sport any number of pockets, with straps fed through points across the vest (the brown strips in the picture above and seen on the side), as well as featuring buckles on the bottom that can either be tucked away or used to secure additional pouches such as medical kits or other equipment. It has fully enclosed sides, save for at the armpit to allow for flexibility and manueverability of the arm, and is closed by a heavy-duty zipper at the front that runs the length of the vest. With no pouches, even with the removable shoulder-guards attached, it can fit discreetly underneath a hoodie or light jacket to fascilitate more subtle appearances.

Just a bump, wondering if I can get this reviewed so I can fix anything wrong with it.

Bumping your own tech thread is most of the time frowned upon, Jiang will look it over and comment on it when he have time. Currently he is the only tech admin the site have, so it's not unsual that he have a lot of tech submission to go through. Just bear with it and he will get to it when he have time.
