God damn hackers, was the only thought that passed through Martel's mind as he made his way through Csaplar, Csilla, in his speeder, in order to address the Chiss Ascendancy about the recent hacking of Czerka Corp's advertisement and the seemingly obvious terrorist threat that emerged from it. In truth, the Imperator was not even supposed to make a speech if he had listened to his advisers, since they were completely against Martel making a public appearance when his life could be in danger, but Martel was a bold one and he hated standing around, doing nothing, so he almost immediately set up a speech in one of the more prominent buildings in Csaplar. The building was the Lady's Luck, a popular nightclub in Csaplar that was frequented by important officers in the CEDF and corporation owners. Basically, rich people. Luckily, it did not take long for Martel to reach the area where he would make his speech, since he was already in the area talking to prominent planetary governors in order to organize colonial phalanxes. The measure was taken in the case of an attack on any Chiss planet, whether it be from the Unknown Regions or any other major faction in the galaxy.

Now, Martel's speeder slowly descended onto the landing platform of the Lady's Luck, where the Imperator could see small figures move what seemed to be a horde of people towards the exit of the platform. Press, Martel thought, he should have guessed there would be press all over the story, since well it was the Imperator making a speech to the whole Chiss faction. Eventually, Martel's speeder landed on the platform and almost immediately the host of press pushed back security and pounded upon the flexiglass windows of the speeder. Luckily, Martel's personal guard, the Ascendant Guard, were able to push the press back as they took pictures and recorded videos using their holocameras. This allowed Martel to finally exit the speeder, and he was picture perfect. His hair was slicked backwards, his uniform was neatly pressed, and his tyrant pistol hanged casually on his side. He slowly walked towards the balcony of the Lady's Luck and out of the platform. In all honesty, the security was nearly astronomical in size and the decorations were abundant, with party lights here and there, along with holoprojectors that now showed beautiful trees where they once showed exotic dancers. Though what really drew attention was the speech platform, which was raised from the rest of the balcony and appeared to be made out of pure white marble, though it probably was just an illusion.

Seeing what was before him, Martel made his way slowly through the horde of press that pressed against him in order to get to the podium that stood in the middle of the platform. Before he could get there however, he had to get through a security checkpoint. Even as Imperator, Martel was stopped by the guard at the checkpoint and given a full body scan in order to make one hundred percent sure that he truly was the Imperator. Once it came out that he was truly Martel, the guard apologized, but Martel simply waved it off in a casual fashion. He knew better than anyone that it was simply procedure and was not about to punish the guard for following it, in fact he should probably be commended, but Martel did not have time for that since he had to deliver his speech quickly before the audience died of waiting. As luck would have it, it did not take long for Martel to reach the podium after the security check point.

Once upon the stage, Martel collected himself a bit before speaking into the microphone in front of him. "Chiss, my fellow sentients," he started, his voice booming throughout the open balcony, calling to attention the mumbling masses and silencing them. Today, Martel's audience consisted mostly of the upper class of the Chiss, the military officers and the press, all of them were eagerly awaiting the Imperator's address on the recent hacking and calling for war, so when the Chiss stood on the stage they quickly began to silence themselves and when he spoke they fell completely silent. "I come before you today in order to address what seems to be a declaration of war from an unknown force." he stated, his voice strong and confident, despite the gravity of the situation "Now, I don't know about you, but I do not think the Chiss Ascendancy is to simply stand by and watch while unknown forces plot to destroy the grand Ascendancy." the crowd cheered and hollered, only to be silenced by the continuing of Martel's speech. Meanwhile, the same guard that had stopped the Imperator earlier was now doing a routine check of the perimeter, as ordered by the Chief of Security. He was a young Chiss in his late teens and had just been assigned to guard duty after graduating from basic training only two weeks before. Needless to say it was the proudest moment of his life when he graduated from the academy, even if it was only basic training, since all his life he only wanted to serve and protect the Ascendancy. It was his graduation that he was thinking about when he walked through the hallways of the interior of Lady's Luck, behind the stage where Martel was making his speech. For a while it was rather dull until the young Chiss saw a shadow move in the distance into one of the rooms. Of course, the boy's training took over and he followed the shadow, telling command that there was an unknown object moving through the hallways and he was checking it out.

When the young Chiss came upon the room that shadow seemed to enter it was dark and he could not see a thing. So he brought up his Saracen rifle and turned on the flashlight under the barrel. What he saw shocked him, it was another guard, but strangely he did not recognize him, though that could have been because he was looking at him from behind. "Who are you" the young Chiss called out, his rifle pointed at the guard. "I'm one of you" the guard replied simply, turning around and smirking. Now the Chiss knew for sure he had never seen this guard before and held his rifle with an even sterner grip. "I don't think so, I'm going to call this one in" he said, defiantly, as he pulled his hand away from the barrel of his rifle to activate his comm and call it in. What happened next was quick and abrupt, the guard kicked the rifle out of the Chiss' hand and pulled out his vibroblade, plunging it into the boy's abdomen. "Sorry, kid" was all the guard said as he pulled out the vibroblade and moved out the room. All the young Chiss could think about as he was dying was how he failed the Ascendancy and his Imperator, then there was nothing.

Meanwhile, outside the room, the guard activated his commlink and spoke "We are ready" he said simply, making his way to the stage where Martel was halfway through his speech. The Imperator, being unaware of the recent eventss, simply continued his speech as normal. ".....and that is why the Ascendancy will prosper" he said, stopping for a small breath, but that was cut short when an explosion went off right behind, flinging him in the air and knocking him out.

Minutes later, the Imperator awoke to the sounds of screaming and the horrid smell of sulfur and death. His vision was blurry as he saw a guard calling a medic for a woman who was in his arms, bleeding out. Shrapnel covered her body and pierced her red dress, which was white before the explosion. Martel remembered her, she was a reporter for the Csilla Times, Kitana. She was young, enigmatic, known for her cheery attitude and beautiful smile. Strangely, the medic that was nearby walked slowly towards the pair, taking his damn time as if she had time. Martel wanted to cry out, but for the time being he was too dazed to speak. Luckily, the guard was crying out at the medic, to rush him, but that did not do much as the medic continued walking slowly to the pair. Eventually he reached the pair, the guard rightfully screaming at him. By now Martel's vision was clear and he could see perfectly, but what happened next made him wish he was blind. The medic pulled out his pistol and shot the guard, point bland, the blue bolt piercing through the Chiss's brain, leaving a searing, black mark on the guard's forehead. Next, the medic shot the woman, who was already so close to death that it did not even matter. Still that did not make things better as the medic shot the woman's head and stomach. The Imperator watched in horror, he had been in battles before and had seen lots of things, but that did mean he liked seeing them. After killing the pair, the medic made his way towards Martel, who by now was moving around, but he didn't have enough time to move away, the medic was already on top of him. The Imperator stared into the medic's cold visor that shielded Martel from seeing his killer, but despite the threat of imminent death, Martel simply smirked. The medic failed to realize that the reason Martel was moving earlier was not to move away, instead it was to retrieve his Tyrant which was a few feet away and was now pointed assuredly at the medic's abdomen. Oh how Martel wish he could see his assailant's face as he realized his mistake, but since Martel couldn't do so, he simply squeezed the trigger. The blue bolt tore through the medic's armor and flesh, leaving a smoking, black mark on his chest. Once the medic was dead, Martel got up and wiped off some of the dust on his uniform, taking in the sight of the Lady Luck's balcony. The once noble penthouse floor, now appeared to be a warzone to Martel with dead bodies laying on the ground, beside dismembered limbs and burning rubble. Martel's conclusion was furthered strengthened by the fact that CEDF security forces were in a firefight with the infiltrators. So this is what the terrorist group was planing?, Martel thought to himself.

The man watched from above, a rooftop far away. His binoculars strong enough to watch it all go down.

He had nothing to do with this, but had caught word of it from all the way back on Coruscant.

His words had penetrated deep, and he finally witnessed the bounty of his hard work. Such a sad day for the Imperator it seemed. He would hopefully realize the extent of this 'Terrorists' truths.

After all was said and done, he simply turned to depart. He would let things unravel by themselves..
