Lol the republic thinks it can tell thr Jedi what it can and can not do. We should remind them we not part of the republic. Felix would do it so impolitly please let him meet the republic delegation.

I would assume it's just going to be the Lord and his Generals, but who knows? Maybe it'll be a public forum for all Jedi where we just sort of scream at the Senators until they leave us alone.

Actually with our generation of Jedi. I say we do exactly what they want. Leave them to their own devices and we do ours. Evolve from a Jedi 'people' to a Jedi Civilization. Where instead of just the force sensitives we bring the families of the force sensitives. Create our own economy based on the families we bring, bartering our protection for their skills and trades. Not that I've been thinking of this for a long time already or anything like that..... *whistles innocently*

There's a reason we have special leaders and such meet with delegations from other groups and the like, rather than just setting them loose amongst the masses present in the group.

The possibilities mentioned above are a major part of that reason. =P

If the Lord wants to put on a show of force in a pacifistic way, he only need invite the Republic reps on a walk around one of the Temple grounds; probably Lothal so harsh elements or nasty creatures don't make a mess of their pasty complexions. Show them the rigorous training of the Jedi, their mighty fleet in orbit, the ferocious skill and discipline even a Padawan can bring to bear.

The precept of the Jedi Knights in this TL is that we all fight. Anyone who chooses not to fight as the Jedi Lord expects, as our "faction" describes, should leave the faction and go be a hippy somewhere else. Harsh, but true. This TL's Jedi are crusaders, warriors, fighters, active participants in the galactic fight against evil. There is not a real choice here - you fight (or help those who fight), and serve the Light of the Force!

But at the same time, that doesn't mean we want to go and piss off potential allies just because we don't agree with them. Diplomacy is still a thing with us.

Besides, if we agree with them not to incite conflict, then we can wait until the Sith fully reveal themselves (rather than hunting them down like rats) and start harassing the BA more and the Senate hears about it, then we can tell the Senate "screw you guys we're going to go help the people" and then go join the fighting alongside the beleaguered BA and make them like us

and then help them rise up against the obviously corrupt senate that doesn't have their best interests in mind

Just to be clear, so no one takes anything the wrong way, this was the motion:

...Alderaan moves to convene a special delegation, led by myself, Senator Temen Antilles of Alderaan, to travel to the Jedi Temple on Tython and urge the Jedi Lord to remain neutral and uninvolved in the escalating tensions between the northern territories and the so-called Sith Brotherhood. Should it be so approved, this message will be delivered as the official position of the Republic and the Galactic Senate.

I say that to make ti clear that the Republic delegation will not be trying to tell the Jedi what they can and can't do. The delegation is delivering the official position of the Senate, which is that it would like the Jedi to stay out of the conflict so as to not further escalate it, but it brings with it no demands or power to demand anything.
