Sabrina had just been made upto, the rank of a sith crusader. Her parents where mortified, their only daughter was killing for the empire. That job was for their sons, they wanted the daughter to settle down, have a family. This was something she wanted, but she wanted to be ennobled first. Her brothers where proud of her though, as they had heard about what happened on spear head. She was sent to sabotage it, she failed technically as she captured a frigate from the Imperium Republica. That is what sealed her promotion from Acolyte, to become a Crusader. This rank gave her a few benefits, and it was something she proud off, even if her mother was livid.

She been invited as a result to her first ball, this was her first ever ball. She was excited, she was dressed in an off the shoulder black dress.

She been looking forward to this all week, she turned up and walked in. She was greeted and offered a glass of wine, that had bubbles. She then soon realised, she knew no one here.

"...since the KDY crash my stock has tripled."

"...you have to come with me and Xerxes to see the 'Bella Korida' next week, the soloist is sublime."

"...I say she is a tidy number isn't she?"

The hubbub of snobbery humming around the room was almost to much to bare, and yet for the aspiring socialite, it was precisely what would be needed. Gathered in the room today would be some of the Empire best, and some of their very very worst. Viscount Haxeen stood to one side of the room, naval gazing about his time at the academy with some younger and more spritely climbers.

Boss Endrilgoorn, some big player in the Shipping Business out of Imperial Hutta stood nearer the makeshift bar, a chromium plated and slightly tottery protocol unit translating his gutteral snarls into something more understandable, to the crowd of fawning ladies - who clearly had just heard he was down a mate, having consumed her in his species traditional way in the last feasting season. After all - what was a little husband lead consumption if you died in a palace? To his left, by the fountain, stood Unguloot Marph, a weapons manufacturer who was rumoured to have around 30% of the rooms occupants in his pocket. A Whippomorn, he was being sprayed with water vapour every few minutes a large multiarmed droid massaging his rubbery skin as the beast crooned in some undulating language.

All in all, it was a motely gathering - nobles of the more coventional sense, mingling with those immigrants from the recently acquired, and somewhat troubled (since the Mandalorian 'issue') Hutt Space. It would, if nothing else, be a night to remember.

Sabrina wander around, looking around and listening to people. It was a bit off putting not knowing anyone, though that was why she was here. So she can get to know people, make freinds and gain social status. She wander to see who talk to, eventually she saw Viscount called Haxeen. He looked like a man who had been to academy, and might be able to talk about it with her. She stood near to him, and his some younger acolytes. To be fair, she was actually younger than most of them. This might be interesting for her, as they where climbers, she had got her first foot on the rung.

She gave him a polite bow of her head, out of respect to his noble ranking. She then stood to listen, as she did not want impose, as she did not know where she stood yet in social pecking order.

"...well you see," Haxeem was in the middle of the retelling of some great tale, and was relishing in the attention shown by some of his acolytes "...the best way to extract such information with a XCC-1 Tormentor, is when the device is cooled, it has a..." he paused, turning his head ever so slightly to face the newcomer, a young woman he had not met at such a function before, and gestured for the waiter droid to fetch him a glass.

"...and you are?" he asked her, his mouth turning up into a sneer as he smoke. He did not like newcomers into his social circle, they often wanted something, and that normally came with trouble. As the droid returned, he swept his glass off the tray, a clear substance known as Corellian Crystal Wine held within, and gestured that the droid ought to offer the newcomer the same.

She looked at his sneer, it was fair enough after all she was new to this. So she would not take offence, after all she had only just risen in the ranks. She was unsure how to react, her mother and father never did teach her etiquette, did she hold her hand out. No too formal, she smiled and said I am Crusader Kotass, I just recently been promoted, for my deeds. She took the glass of wine, and took a sip. She then realised, if she carries on drinking this much, she would not last an hour, she would need some horderves. She looked at him, as she sipped just above her glass as she took her sip. She wanted to listen to him, after all he may have tips for her.

"Good for you." Haxeem responded with a dismissive tone, before turning back to his posse of sycophants "They let anyone in these days. Where was I, I have quite forgotten..." he trailed off as he attempted to recall which chapter of his vastly embellished tale he had been on. "The cooled prongs, they work a charm when..." he proceeded to go into a great deal more detail, before wrapping up his story several minutes later, and then turning his attention ont one of the other notable people in the room, walking away from his posse, confident they would follow in his wake like the good sheep they where.

"Boss Endrilgoorn, I haven't seen you at one of these functions for what must be what, two years?"

"One, and you know it Hax."

"Suprised you could afford the fare over since KDY, one of you big..."

"Biggest shipping stations, yes you say every damn time you call my office Hax."

"Yes, so I do now you mention it. Anyway, this is Sabrina - she is a crusader don't you know?" Hax rounded off the discussion, with just a hint of sarcasm in his voice as he introduced the young Sith.

Well the rank of Crusader did not mean much to this noble, or it meant a lot to him, and thought she did not deserve it. That kinda annoyed her, it annoyed her alot. She did think about screaming in his ear, but that would be bad form, well atleast she thinks it would be. Though she did listen intently to the conversation, about Boss Endrilgoorn having some issues. So when she was interested why he was coming back here, if he was recovering his finances after what happened at KDY. As she was introduced to him, she smiled he could not be insufferable than the Viscount, well she hoped he could not.

She smiled and replied, she was keeping it short and polite, as she did not want to make a pofar. It is a pleasure to meet you, may I ask what brings you to Serenno? This was maybe have been impolite, but she had been rubbed the wrong way.

Sabrina would be correct in her assumption that the rank of 'Crusader' meant little to some of those gathered here tonight, after all - when one had more titles than most moons had settlements - what was one more thrown into the mix? Haxeem wandered off again soon after he had made his introductions, clearly so he could go and be an insufferable snob in another part of the room. Boss Endrilgoorn however, was somewhat more polite, and he inclinded his not-inconsiderable head to the Crusade as he introduced himself.

"A pleasure, Lady Crusader - I'm Endrilgoorn, of the congolmerate Endrilgoorn Shipping. Is this your first dib into the exotic melting pot of the Imperial upper crust?" he asked, his voice deep, filled with bass notes that matched his heavy-set frame. Tiny eyes never leaving the Crusader, the Boss adjusted his sash slightly, and leaned a little on his cane. "What brings me here?" he added, by way of reply to her own question "...I am visiting my Rimway Estate is all."

She listened to Endrilgoorn, he was much more poltier than the Viscount snooty brain. He talked to her, his voice was very deep to say the least. She listened to him, as atleast he was giving her time of day, unlike the others. As she listened to him, he mentioned an estate. As she he talked she took a sip of wine, she was not use to drinking, so she making very measured sips. After he had finished talking, she asked So you have an estate on Serenno, I guess it must be nice. She figured he was going to be her small talk of the evening, and to be fair he seemed nice to talk too.

"It is suitable for my needs Ma'am." he responded, somewhat put out by the directness of her question. "What brings you to Serenno?" he asked, seeking to move questions away from the more acute ones to which Sabrina was clearly used to. Small talk had its place, but there must be some reason she wanted to speak to him.

OOC - Next few rounds I am going to liven this up a little if that is alright, as at present it is a lot of talking. We may want to bring another PC in on this if you have anyone in mind.

She listened to him, as he explained his about his estate. He asked her why she was on Serenno, she replied I live here, well in my parents home. I travel between here, and Korriban or where the Empire calls for me. She took a sip off her wine, and as waitress came by, she took a couple of hordervers. They where very tasty, and she asked So what was he on about, KDY? She was curious, as the dullard was on about it.

The industrialist was getting increasingly purturbed by this newcomers line of questioning. In the circles he mixed in, it always paid to veer on the side of caution when it came to speaking to others, especially when they asked openly bizzare and leading questions. The Kuat Drive Yard attack was one of the largest attacks in a highly publicised war that was ravaging the Empire, and so he found her ignorance of it hard to believe. "Kuat Drive Yards my Lady," he began explaining, softly as he could manage "...it was a devestating attack by the Mandalorians on one of the largest shipyards in the known Galaxy?" he positioned his statement as a rhetorical question, and continued.

Waving away the waiter floating about with a tray of deeply expensive lookig food, he refocused his attention on the Crusader once more. "You have heard of the incident I hope?" he asked, a slight sneer breaking across his face. "It would be most alarming if not after all." the alien added with a smirk. Underneath all of his bombast however, he could not shake the belief that she was not telling him something. What is she after? he thought to himself, fixing her in his beady gaze, trying to read what he could of her expressions, and by extent, intentions thereafter.

Markov has been roaming the ball for the last fifteen minuites or so, looking for any fellow Sith to interact with. He desires to also socialize and improve his social status, at least so he could perhaps gain more following, especially for his future endeavors. Noticing Sabrina, he headed over as his groomed robes gave him an appearance much like a some sort of temple sage, despite him being the absolute opposite of one. “Ah yes... it seems I have found fellow Sith here... Crusader,” he declared as he approached Sabrina and the industrialist.

The Acolyte was offered and handed a glass of wine as a male server bowed and left him. He sipped slowly and silently as he eyed the person beside The Crusader, wondering what purpose this person would have that would be useful to the Sith.
“Would you mind if I were to be here? You seem to be one of the only people that is fine to interact with. I also feel you’re here for a similar reason that I am...”

____________

THEME
This would be fun, at least Drali hoped it would be as she walked in her heals. She was a little out of practice but she was happy to be wearing something other than sweaty robes. A few days of enjoying her feminine side would not be taken for granted. Her dress made her smile as she caught herself in the refletion of a mirror she passed. It certainly complimented one of her eyes. Though she wondered what people would think of the deucalian tattoos along her upper back and arms.

One hand she had a matching clutch which held only a few sparse pieces of her normal equipment and necessity. A personav, signal tracer and comlink. She had to admit she did feel a little naked, not because of the clothes but she lacked her weaponry to the same extent as she normally did. Like a true fem fatale she had a thigh holster which had a guardian hold out blaster, not that she needed it. She was wearing bracelets that were made of cortosis weave and while they looked great they would hopefully not come into play.

As she entered she saw the plethora of colorful guests. They definitely seemed quite interesting to say the least and Drali would head over to one of the few people that stuck out with a sense of familiarity. Passing by a waiter just as it was leaving the one known as Endrilgoorn, she picked up an ordurve and popped it into her lips. Today she was not wearing any warpaint and her rather unblemished face looked curiously between the large male, the crusader and the sparkling protocol droid. "Youhr-" She smiled slightly and stopped herself, realizing she was still chewing. Finishing she resumed. "you're very shiny. I take it you care a lot for droids and nice things." It was really an innocent statement first about the droid and then directed towards Endrilgoorn. "You're looking very pretty too. Nice dress." she added towards Sabrina as a genuine compliment.

As another waiter walked by she grabbed a flute of sparkling wine and took a sip. Even for Drali it was low in alcohol and easy to drink. The other Sith, the one that had arrived just before Drali had an air of... arrogance? no, whatever it was it felt like he took himself too serious. Looking around the Deucalian Acolyte wondered if she should mix with the other guests instead of hover around the man who had just been swarmed by three Sith. This could get awkward. She downed the rest of he libation and began looking for another tray to liberate.

Are she did know, she made a massive pofar by asking about it. He asked have she heard about it, she kinda off embarrassedly replied Yes, I just had it in my head, as the Kuat incident. Sorry I have only just started following politics, so I didn't know it was called KDY for short. Her face was cringeworthy, and said I am really sorry. She took a sip of her wine, and composed herself. As that was embarrassing, and she did not want to do that again. I am sorry, I am just trying to make small talk. So I can learn how this all works, as I like to come to these again. Also I like to come these as equal, well may less unequal. As she talked a couple of acolytes, came in. The first was well groomed and fit the bill, the lady was showing a tattoo, was that allowed?

She smiled towards, the both of them. She was hoping they did not notice, she made an embarrassing mistake. He asked did she mind if he joined them, she did not mind. As it would mean she could sit back and listen to others talk, as it would mean she was less likely to put her foot in her own mouth. Then the woman who came up as well perhaps, the gentlemans bit on the side.
I have no problem with both of you joining us, and thank you, and your dress looks very beautiful as well. She then turned to the industilist Endrilgoorn, and asked him I hope you don't mind, if they do. She took a step back, so they could converse in a circle.

Newcomers slowly trickled into the room, no doubt some small holdup in security having caused their delay, such was the price of increased measures during a time of conflict. Haxeem was still off to one side, conversing with one of his hangers on "That is just half of the problem my dear, the Sith focus a great deal on their religion, leaving little room for more practical matters of state." she tittered, Haxeem was certainly breaking with Party Line tonight.

Meanwhile Unguloot Marph was making his way around the room, arriving at the shoulder of the Boss almost silently, such was the high quality of his repulsor chair. "Good evening," the vast creature began, appearing far more sober than those other Nobles and Industrialists in attendance "...and is such fine company as well?" he leered at the newcomers, the Boss rolling his eyes - clearly not a fan of the Whippomorn businessman who had muscled his way into their conversation. Haxeem was not far behind, gliding over, to join what appeared to be the more interesting discussion that was ongoing, arriving just as Sabrina began to speak.

He listened, his face stone-like in its expresionlessness, as the young Crusader attempted to cover her tracks, drinking her wine in an attempt no doubt to calm her nerves. It was becoming more clear by the second that she was new to this game, and like a predator stalking his prey, Haxeem struck.

"Perhaps then," he placed his glass down on the passing tray "...if you feel out of place, you ought not to be here?"

Endrilgoorn snorted into his drink as the young Moff, Haxeem, made his displeasure known, speaking himself soon after "My dear, there is not subtle art to attending a drinks party. Speak to people, as you would normally." he leaned closer, lowering his voice as if conspiratorial, but still loud enough for all to hear "Even if the men in uniform are far from normal, it doesn't hurt to at least pretend like they are." he chortled to himself.

"Anyway," likewise, he placed his glass down "...we are from two sides of the same coin no - Old Empire," he gestured to Sabrina "...and Republica," to himself and Haxeem "...and what remains of Imperial Hutta," he gestured to the Whippomorn "...so tell me, what do you think of us Respublicans?" he asked, eager to steer te discussion onward, and onto something more palatable.

Nor'baal Fanth was not often invited to parties, yet, with his new position within the Exchange, there came certain benefits. After all, the opportunity to mingle with some of the 'great and the good' of the Imperial Factions was not something to be turned down, especially by someone in his business. Supported by his hover-sled, upon which he reclined without so much as a care in the world, the Hutt had only just managed to convince the Imperial Security that his invitation was in fact geniune.

God damn Imperials, he cursed - for it seemed the steroetype of his species as criminals, even spread here to the elite.

Never mind that he was a Criminal, but still, the suggestion hurt. Gliding in, he waved over one of his weary looking retainers "Moisturise me." before he had even finished, the job was done, and he smiled. At last, the scum where learning. Heading in, he went to ask his protocol unit a little more about just who they would be meeting, but, it beat him to it.

"There shall be in attendance, numerous members of the Imperial Military-Industrial Complex, such as Moff Haxeem, Boss Engrildoorn and a Whippomorn, I believe you know from that coolant deal some few weeks back." the droid waited, as Nor'baal nodded for it to continue "Several Sith Crusaders and others of lower rank are in attendance."

The Hutt shuddered.

He just could not bring himself to trust force users. They gave him the chills. Entering the party proper, he made his way over to the gathering at which stood Haxeem, and introduced himself, the droid translating his ramblings into basic as he spoke. "Boona Moff Haxeem, me gaan Nor'baal, san huuba nee cheeba wan. Tu grabba ze hooba, fan uuda de ooba Hutta."

With that, the smaller of the two retainers placed a small chest on the floor, opening it, to reveal a small hookah pipe, looking slightly tired, and clearly rather cheap. Sitting in his sled, the Hutt smiled and bowed, waiting for the others to reply.

The Acolyte made the group circle with Sabrina as he went to drink more of his wine. Markov looked into the eyes of his group as he tried to know their opinions of him, which to him probably weren’t to well. “Well... how has everyone’s research and careers going right now?” He asked bluntly as he attempted at small talk, which he wasn’t really good at anyway.

“About politics, I have also recently followed it, especially with the new reforms and... my father, who used to work for them but now is simply an engineer for his purposes...” Markov spat out as he looked disgusted by mentioning his father. He despised his father for almost his entire life. Because of his desire to become a Sith Mr.Aletaus gave quite the ugly scar to his son which reeked in pain for an extremely long time. He wanted revenge for his fathers actions; a bloody one. “If I were to return and find my father, especially how he denocned myself and my mother physically and mentally, I will slaughter him for that. He only cares about what he wants and that was why he was such a bad figure in the Empire before he retired... only my mother supported my feats and research...,”.

Markov’s fists curled a he tensed up from his desire for vengeance. That force sensitive who refused to use his power and denounced his son for it was a disgrace to Markov as well.

Drali was already away from the other two sith as they spoke to the large being and his shiny droid translator. She found what she was looking for though, a fresh tray of bubling beverages, taking one in each hand. She quickly downed one and set it back on the tray and drained the second half way but kept the rest so she was not empty handed. Afterwards letting out a satisfied "Aaah"

She returned in time to hear the words that Haxeem and Edrilgoorn spoke towards Sabrina. They seemed rather harsh and all testosterone filled like so many other egotistical men. She decided to interject towards the moff. "I thought, that men wanted to be treated differently. It would sooth their ego and make them feel special. Treat an man like he is some common face on the street and he will take it as a personal slight." the Deucalian acolyte did not like being thought of as some basic acolyte for one. She doubted that the moff, a man of position and power had not gained his position by lacking ambition or pride.

When a Hutt entered and placed gifts she tilted her head to look at the Moff again, as if the producing of the two gifts proved her point. "You would not mind hearing out Sabrina for whatever she has to say right? I mean, she went through so much trouble to come to this, putting her face at risk by being seen among such a crowd and subjected to judgement by your peers. You're party is the place she thought would be the best place to come to." It was aimed to stroke his ego but also not untrue. She finished the rest of her third drink of the evening.
