Shade Training (Sol Kavos)

[Imperator]

Natalia stood a few meters from the north entrance of the Shade's temple. All last night she had been meditating in order to try and learn more about the darkside and had succeeded to an extent. She had told Sol to prepare for a week in the jungle, but all she had brought besides what she normally had with her was a small knife only a few inches. Just as the sun began to break over the horizon she looked over at it. It would be a good day today she thought to herself.

 

[T.J]

Sol walked over to where he was told to meet his new master. He had a medium sized bag that held all he would need for an extended stay in the jungle, since he had never been in the jungle he decided to prepare for everything. When he reached the area he saw Natalia waiting for him, " Greetings Master. As you can see I am ready for our stay in the jungle."

 

[Imperator]

"Good, now tell me are you capable of using the force to greatly increase your speed?"

 

[T.J]

" Im capable of using force speed. I take it where not going to do this slow and steady?"

 

[Imperator]

"No, far from it actually." Natalia looked out into the jungle. "Notice how the trees and vines are everywhere. It is impossible to travel in a straight line for even a few meters. As a result in order to move fast you must react fast."

She looked back at Sol and launched a small rock just over his left shoulder at an extremely high speed. "Sol, I am going to teach you how to react much faster through the force. You will learn to react fast enough to catch a rock that fast with your bare hand. This power is called modify senses. You use the force to enhance your own natural abilities to near super-human levels."

She took a moment to use force so she could tell exactly what Sol did though the force and began to have 7 small rocks rapidly rotate around Sol in a circle. "Now try to use the force to enhance your hand-eye-coordination, eyesight, and reaction time to strike each stone with your lightsaber."

 

[T.J]

'No problem' Sol thought to himself as he watched the rocks fly around his person. He closed his eyes and slowed his breath as he tried to focus what control over the force he had into what he was trying to do. When he thought he was ready he quickly ignited his lightsaber and lashed out on the flying rocks. The rock he had aimed passed right ahead of his saber, it fell through the line of rocks and he let out an angry grunt. He held his light saber straight up and tried to focus again before striking out once more, he barely hit a rock. A grin came across his face as he swung again without focusing, missing completely. In anger he started swinging wildly and almost threw his saber, but was able to regain his composure. He looked up at Natalia with an emberassed look on his face. " Sorry master....."

 

[Imperator]

"Do not let your emotions control you but do not deny them either. The greatest weakness seen in the Jedi is that they try to completely block their emotions. Instead as Grey Jedi we allow ourselves to have emotions but we control them, we focus them, and allow them to empower us. Now calm down for a moment and use the force to better your sight. Track each rock with your eyes, do not strike yet, watch each one. I will not give you a pattern to see, but instead you must try to keep track of each rock from the moment it enters your vision."

 

[T.J]

Sol nodded and kept his saber in a passive posture. He watched as the rocks sped around him, he felt a deep cool feeling come up from his chest as he relaxed himself and watched. To his amazement the rocks looked as if they where slowing down, they soon looked as if they where moving at a pace where he could easily track all of them. Hitting each of the rocks one at a time with his saber seemed like the most simplest of tasks. When all the rock where destroyed he looked up towards Natalia, a grin spread across his face in excitment.

Natalia smiled back at Sol, from the way he had been acting previously it seemed to her that he would need to be reassured of his skills periodically until he gained enough confidence in himself to realize his full potential. "Good, it seems you are able to catch on rather fast. Now, since you seem to have a grasp on hos to increase your reaction time I believe we should now head of to begin your proper training." Natalia turned towards the woods and prepared to increase her speed significantly. "Just follow me as close as you can so you do not get lost." With that she took off into the jungle.

 

[T.J]

Sol didnt even get a chance to respond before Natalia darted into the tree line, he focused until he got the same feeling in his chest before using his force speed and darted after her. Even at his current speed she seemed to be a blur of movement ahead of him. He was barely able to keep up to her and pushed himself alittle more than usual to do so. He deeply didnt want to get lost, he wasnt sure where he was at the moment and knew he probably wouldnt be able to get back to the conclave.

Natalia made sure that she was constantly pushing Sol to go as fast as he could without going to far ahead of him that he might lose her. She managed to keep track of him as well as dodge all the trees that ame across her path in the jungle. After about an hour of running which allowed them to get quite a good distance from the Shade Order Temple Natalia finally stopped in an area that did not seem to have anything noteworthy.

 

[T.J]

Sol skidded to a stop shortly after Natalia did, he was panting heavily and his face was covered in sweat. He wiped what he could on his sleep and forced himself to slow his breathing before speaking. " Why did we stop? I can kep going."

 

[Imperator]

"We stopped because we have traveled far enough away and we are going to be training until sunset." She did not actually look at Sol as she spoke to him instead she was looking around the forest.

"You should know that I will begin by training you in a large variety of techniques instead of building up a few. I will instead allow you to mediate and train on your own to improve the techniques I teach you so that you may gain your own strength." She turned away from the forest around her towards Sol with a strong look on her face. "Now prepare yourself and gather your strength because I will be training you until you or the sun drops. It does not matter which one happens first."

 

[T.J]

Sol looked Natalia in the face, " I am ready for whatever you throw at me. I wont give in easily." A small well of pride and anger grew in his chest. He would best these trials and defeat them head on, even if he died trying. He clenched his fists with that thought, but quickly folded his hands behind his back.

 

[Imperator]

"Since you seem to lack most basic foce powers we will begin there." She pointed at a rather large fallen tree branch and pointed at it, "I want you to pull that branch over here with the force." She knew it would not be a major challenge, but she would work up to harder ones, and she figured he would still need to gain more of his strength back.

 

[T.J]

" ok..." Sol said as he turned to face the fallen branch. Force push he could do, but pulling was another story. He could do it, but it took alot more focus than he would have liked, it also most of the time left him drained. He slowed his breathing and focused on the branch, seeing it in his mind moving towards him. He felt the flow of the force move down his arm and through his hand, opening his eyes he watched as the branch slowly lifted off the ground and moved towads him. When it was a few feet from him he dropped it, his arm felt like jelly shorty afterwards and he had clench his fist several times to get it to feel normal.

 

[Imperator]

She felt the problems that Sol was having with using force pull. Considering that it should not have been so tiring she needed to push him harder if he was going to succeed. She pointed to another larger branch, "Now, try again, this time on that branch."

 

[T.J]

Without saying anything, Sol turned towards the new branch. He used the same arm as before, but this time tried the same technique he had used to highten his senses. He still focused the branch in his mind, and saw it as it lifted in his mind, but this time he made it so he felt the cool chill flow throughout his body. It seemed to lighten the load alittle but still strained him. The branch rose and moved towards him, again dropping several feet infront of him.

 

[Imperator]

Natalia smirked a little bit, he was getting better. "You seem to be getting better at it. Since you now seem to have the basics I believe that now is the time to teach you the next power after pull and push. This one is called telekinesis. Instead of pushing things forward or backward you can mave objects in aby direction at varying speeds. Now then simply use what you have learned from push and pull, but instead of a general movement of the force you must refine your usage and move the force directly around the object."

Sol wasnt exactly sure what she meant by moivng the force aound the object, so he just decided to wing it. He picked a medium sized rock and focused his thoughts on it, not it moving around, but of the force swirling around it like a whirlpool. He opened his eyes to look at the rock, it really didnt look like he was doing anything, but he could feel the force swirling around it. " Is that what you meant? Make the force swirl around an object?" he said as he continued to made the force move around the rock.
