Ship Crew - Interested Check

Good Morning everyone!

Ship crew ideas have been tried several times in the past, sometimes to great success and other times - not so much. However with the New TL I think it would be good to make another go of it.

So would anyone be up for forming a transporter crew with me? Pay is rubbish, hours are long - but adventure?

I reckon we could split the crew into three departments - Bridge, Support and Security, and maybe make use of either a Bendu, KDY enterprise charter or if allowed, and A3 Heavy (@Loco which would be allowed do you think?).

We then gear up with pilot suits and carbines, probably in a weapons locker for added hijinks, and start shipping. All threads could be done as the entire crew, or if we have enough shipmates we can do smaller missions as well.

The ship and equipment would be owned by am NPC kingdom most likely - the crew merely hired to run a shipment and then take their pay, keeping this flexible for people to join. Basically your characters would be freelance contractors the NPC kingdom calls to run jobs for them, and then we RP out the hijinks that happen along the way.

I can keep a write up of the ship, including its current destination as well - keeping that up to day daily would be a cool way of effecting our RP!

Once I turn in my BA thesis on January 3rd, I'll write a character for the new TL. Ultimately, I'd like him to make his living as a bounty hunter, but as a means of jump starting his career and leave his homeworld, it might not be a bad idea to join a ship crew.

I'm interested, anyway.

This has definately piqued my interest. I'll try to bang out a character soon. My only question is would a larger, heavier race like a Herglic be allowed to sign up? The slapstick hijinks would be endless.

He's neither a pilot nor educated in mechanics but he's capable with a blaster, so ship security is a good idea.

I wouldn't mind using my character for something like this. She'll help with piloting as long as you pay her.

It'd be interesting to start out in a cantina or something, and gather the crew there. Or something of that kind.

We'll need confirmation from an admin on the ship (maybe @Arclight can help?) and may ask for an NPC captain if none of us can do it.

Then a first mate, pilot and copilot...with the captain and first mate being company regulars, and everyone else - pilot and copilot, engineering, medics and security, as contractors!

I believe there is one freely available hyperspace capable freighter that is not advanced tech. Could use that. Want anything fancier and id like to see a plot acquiring it. Whether that be theft, purchase or some other means.

You may already know this, so sorry if I'm restating old information, however for clarity, the ship wouldn't be owned by us. We would be freelance/contracted crew, with the ship and equipment owned by an NPC kingdom.

We would be wage slaves basically, and the IC payouts for our work would be very very low to reflect that status.

I would still prefer if you use the base ship to start and maybe after doing a few runs get rewarded with something better.

Your character would need to either leave it docked at the home port of the crews contactor, or if it was a fighter sized ship maybe fly alongside as an escort.
