Character Information

  • The youngest daughter of the Hapan noble matriarch Atarah Cume’da, Sigal was born into a life of luxury and nobility. She showed signs of force sensitivity at a young age, much like her eldest sister, Kelila. However, Sigal spent most of her childhood growing up amongst the noble courts and social circles, receiving an impressive education and training befitting her status. Often, she was separated from her direct family; the only stable company she had was from service droids and household attendants. This is atypical of a Hapan childhood; Sigal was showered with luxuries but was mostly kept locked away for her own protection as children were often the targets of feuding noble families. Sigal had even less contact with her sisters than her mother; Kelila spent most of her time in the presence of her mother in the capital whilst Aliyah was the black sheep of the family, more fascinated with the galaxy outside their solar system. She had dreams of travelling the various star systems, though such behaviour would be considered unbefitting for an Hapan noble. Nava was by far the most beautiful of all Atarah’s daughter, but she was also considered the most diminutive and weakest of the sisters -emotionally-. Tragedy struck the family as Nava was involved in an accident, leaving her physically deformed. To the Hapan people, this was considered a fate worse than death due to their love of beauty and perfection. Nava was forced into exile and has kept little contact with her family since. Whilst Sigal broke off contact with her sister, she did feel a degree of sympathy for Nava; when it was discovered that the accident had actually been a failed assassination attempt (in which Kelila was the intended target), Sigal swore to seek justice -and revenge- on the ones responsible (something which she has not revealed to the Jedi).

After a Jedi representative visited the Hapan planet and discovered Sigal's force sensitivity, it was suggested Sigal be sent to receive formal jedi training. After some discussion and debate with other families and advisors, Atarah (forcibly) encouraged her youngest daughter Sigal to go to the jedi and act as an ambassador for the noble Hapans, allowing her family to gain more status and favour. It was suggested Kelila also go, but this was declined as she was the eldest and due to inherit her family's matriarchal position. It was hoped Sigal become one of the few Hapan noble jedi; she had no choice but to respect her mother's wishes. But Sigal did not adjust well to the humble and simple life of a Jedi youngling. Used to living a life with servants and extravagance, she would find the jedi lifestyle to be tedious and uneventful. Sigal tried to remain in contact with her mother, and frequently requested to be returned home (though her mother refused, stating she was doing her duty to her people). Despite doing fairly well in her initial studies and training, Sigal didn’t socialise well with other younglings her age as half of them were males and were what her people would consider to be ‘inferior’ species. There was an unfortunate incident during her youth; during a sparing match with child, Sigal received a minor injury to her lower lip. She became distraught with the thought of a physical scar, she lashed out her opponent in a moment of unbridled fury. Before she could be stopped, she reached out through the force and broke her opponent's arm. Sigal soon got the wound healed and cosmetically treated to ensure there was no blemish left; however, due to her actions, she had to be closely supervised for the duration of her training. Despite the harm she caused to another child, Sigal's mother was actually supportive of her daughter's actions, believing she had acted rightfully to defend herself. To this day, not once did Sigal express remorse or regret for her actions. This, along with other behaviour, caused some concerns amongst her teachers, though many hoped the child would grow out of it. Finishing her basic jedi training, it is hoped she will find a mentor to curb her less than desirable attitude.
  • Due to her upbringing, Sigal places a great deal of importance on honour, dignity as well as the pursuit of perfection. Though she prefers to avoid conflict, she will train in the Makashi Form II for the pure purpose of mastering it. This dedication to perfection, when faced with failure, unsettles Sigal deeply, creating anxiety and distress which she may then redirect towards others or cause her to act recklessly. Because of her pride, Sigal will rarely share her feelings or concerns, bottling up any worries or grievances; she would rather attempt to tackle a problem on her own than ask another for help. Perhaps what unsettles Sigal the most is that she has yet to develop an actual reason for being a Jedi; aside from her mother's insistence, Sigal fails to comprehend her place in the grand scheme of things. She looks for a greater purpose and motive, a personal reason to fight and defend. Sigal still has an appreciation for luxury and beauty; she considers herself to be rather cultured and educated, even though her experiences and insights were extremely limited.

Yet Sigal loves to overindulge, especially in thrill seeking. She needs a firm and disciplined hand in order to teach. Although Sigal is prone to bouts of sarcasm and exasperation, very rarely does she actually lose herself to rage and act in anger (unless successfully provoked). Sigal embodies most traits many jedi would consider undesirable. She can be selfish, conceited, narrow minded and insolent. Yet Sigal is rather skilful at hiding these character flaws behind a wall of stoic indifference. Outwardly, Sigal can be quite charming and appear gentle and diplomatic. Yet she can also prove to be wilful and defiant. The Hapan noble has an unfortunate superiority complex stemmed from her people’s isolative and elitist nature, making her appear to be prideful and arrogant, especially when her abilities seem to support her claims. Some would consider her to be vain, callous, and even cold at times. Sigal softer side is only reserved for a select few; she feels more affection for animals than for actual people and she will openly state this. Sigal still has unresolved issues with abandonment, initially steamed from her mother and like other Hapans has poor night vision which understandably causes her anxiety in low light situations.
  • In terms of force ability, due to her mental prowess and dominating demeanour, Sigal is quite adapt at the mental aspects of the force, such as mind tricks and force persuasion. Unknown to Sigal for some time, she was naturally adept at force empathy, allowing her to pick up impressions of an individual's feelings and general emotional state. Coupled with her observational skills and understanding of sentient behaviour, Sigal is capable of picking up motivations, hidden feelings, and even deeply guarded secrets. However, Sigaal struggles with this ability at times, unwilling to sympathise and gauge the emotional facets of others. Such intimate exposure to others often makes Sigal feel uncomfortable as she is not able to fully understand others (due to her early isolative upbringing). Her attempts to close herself off emotionally from the outside world led to her force empathy becoming underdevelopment and inadequately used. In other aspect, having exercised her force ability at a young age, Sigal managed to stretch her influence to commune and control of animals (which she greatly favours). Sigal also has some moderate with force healing, however this is on a small scale (and was only learnt because she wanted to ensure she could heal any damage to herself.) Opponents often underestimate Sigal's power due to her appearance and refined nature; however, her connection with the force is strong and she is quite capable of using destructive, heavy handed force when needed, especially if she wishes to incapacitate her enemies in a quick, shock and awe like manner. Her nature grace and agility is again enhanced by the force, allowing the force to aid her in long distance jumps and acrobatics.

  • Due to generations of selective breeding, Hapan women are widely known for their extreme beauty. True to her heritage, Sigal -despite her young age- is considered quite a pretty girl and will no doubt grow into a beautiful woman like her mother and older sisters. Tall for her age, with rich, golden blonde hair and violet blue eyes, Sigal takes great pride in her appearance; especially as light hair in predominantly uncommon amongst the general Hapan populace.

During her time as youngling, Sigal was openly aversive to the plain Jedi garbs; her garments (gifts from her mother) now feature handcrafted Hapan silver adornments, matching designer attire in the colours of her noble house. However, she has also been known to hide it within the slip of her boots. The young Hapan’s proxied love for luxury can even be seen in the design of her initiate braid as it is adorned with precious stone beads and crystals. Sigal has no physical scars, blemishes or tattoos as her people see any form of skin modification or disfigurement as unsightly. Sigal doesn't even have pierced ears as this is seen as abuse of the body.

  • Coming soon...
  • Due to the constant danger threatening the noble Hapan family, Sigal is rather proficient in basic hand to hand combat. Instruction under the jedi has allowed her basic lightsaber skills. Usually fearing for her beauty, Sigal is sometimes hesitant to engage in full frontal combat, feeling more confident using other means to attack her opponents. Despite this, Sigal is quite proficient in Makashi lightsaber form II (though there is always room for improvement). Many may mistake Sigal for a pacifist or non violent type, however this can be misleading as Sigal only wishes to ensure she is not injured or physical scarred. If pushed into conflict, she can be quite vicious and has no quarrels with using force. With quick reflexes and an affinity for speed, she is capable of using acceleration and momentum to hit faster and harder than one would expect. Sigal is adept at bladed weapons, as seen with the ceremonial dagger she carries. Though more a family heirloom than an actual weapon, the dagger was customary and part of Hapan court practices. If offense was caused or the threat to life present, a Hapan noble's last resort was to use their dagger. The blade itself is made of songsteel, an extraordinarily light and luminescent silver metal which is reserved only for the most exquisite of weapons, and was extremely tedious to forge and shape. Songsteel was highly resistant to lightsaber strikes in a manner similar phrik and cortosis, however, due to the slim design of the dagger itself, it would not be able to withstand multiple hits. Sigal treasures the finely jewelled blade and for the most part keeps it secured in the slip of her boot, where it often goes unnoticed. On rare occasions, it is strapped to her belt on full display.

Despite her relatively young age, Sigal was instructed in the areas of diplomacy and high society etiquette (even though she finds such tasks tiresome and boring). She is multilingual due to her extensive education, though her primary language is Hapan and Basic. Sigal is not averse to manipulation and deceit having grown up in the competitive courts of the Hapan top society. She is more than able of using her political cunning and connections to get what she needs.

    The Lady Of The Light
  • Though Sigal prefers to avoid conflict when she can, she is trained in Lightsaber Form 2, Makashi, favouring its refinement and uniqueness. Before Sigal enters into a fight she often observes the situation, ensuring she would have leverage, advantage and position against her opponent. When engaged in combat, Sigal tends to end the fight quickly using precise blade work and (somewhat overly) aggressive offence. When engaged in singular lightsaber combat, Sigal seems graceful, relaxed and in control, appearing to some as if she was dancing. Makashi, Form II can be efficient and elegant, allowing Sigal to develop a good balance.

Typically following a single line -front and back- whilst shifting her feet in synchronization to her blade, Sigal is able to avoid the possible threat of disarmament whilst both attacking and defending with minimal energy expenditure. The flexibility in form allows Sigal to defend herself well against force based attacks. However, Sigal has found there are disadvantages with Makashi From II. She is particularly susceptible to strength oriented sword play favoured by Djem So, Form V users. Multiple attackers also prove difficult to tackle unless Sigal is able to isolate them and fight them one by one. Due to Makashi Form II ineffective ability against projectile and blasters, Sigal is forced to rely on either unpredictable tactics or incorporate force abilities. If all else fails, she resorts to her very basic introduction to Soresu Form III.

Any time, any place :-3 haha thanks

Sigal: "I would just like to point out that as a Jedi, I have no wish to kill anyone. A short term crippling, however, will suffice."

I would so enjoy seeing her and Nadela socialize. Or fight. Or watch Nadela try to seduce her to the Darkside.

I dunno, something with yelling in it probably.

The mentions of the Hapes Consortium still need to be removed as it has not been founded as of it this early.
