After the events of Deepest Dark, Alhazred had gone into seclusion.
It was no surprise really. During the aforementioned events, Alhazred had encountered pockets of the Force that even a trained mind struggled against. Ghosts of the long since dead, cybernetic beings that were somehow connected with the Force, offering his own life to study the 'infinities of the force further'... all these things could take a toll on a being, and no one really batted an eye when the eccentric scholar just upped and left to 'study further'. Surely the Nu-Vaal was entitled to a sabbatical of sorts.
However, what caused some interest was the direct but brief message from, of all places, Dagobah.

Alhazred.
Unsure what to make of the message, the Jedi sent someone. Someone in their ranks had expressed interest in sign casting, and Alhazred, for all his quirks and oddities, was a known expert in it . So, the Jedi sent Duma to investigate the message from Alhazred, with the hope that the padawan could either secure some information from the Nu-Vaal, possibly convince him to come back from his 'sabbatical' and perhaps learn something from him.
The coordinates that directed where shuttle would land in a clearing that was once Alhazred's camp. However, the place was a mess. Bags turned over and torn apart, papers scattered and scrawled with incoherent and alien writing, and pieces of ship debris lay around. The ship debris, mostly paneling and plates, were obviously not from any Jedi shuttle. Rather, they appeared to be much, much older, as if they had been plucked from the swamps themselves. A small astromech stood nearby, beaten and broken, with a large hook mark over his chassis.
