Stormtroopers_on_Endor_by_Content_Josho.jpg

3 ABY

The forests of Mandalore were unusually quiet as Mand'alor Fenn Shysa walked through the dense underbrush. Leaves, twigs and a few small flowers crunched under his heavy beskar boots. The green of his armor gleamed in the bright sunlight as he paused briefly to take of his heavy beskar helmet. The Mand'alor was instantly greeted by the sweet kiss of a cold breeze. Fenn Shysa smiled slightly as he paused to take a drink of his durasteel canteen. He gulped down the crystal clear water with vigor, enjoying the brief luxury before setting upon the day's mission. Fenn Shysa took one last drink before capping his canteen and returning his helmet back to its original position. He looked over his shoulder and nodded at the small platoon of Mandalorians behind him. The Mand'alor made a forward motion with his hand and the improvised army set upon its path.

A small group of Mandalorian soldiers had been taken captive by the Stormtroopers of Palpatine's Empire. The brief battle that happened immediately before had cost the Mandalorians dearly. Five seasoned warriors had their lives taken away along with three of the Mandalorians most season commanders had been taken captive. He had just recently learned that a force of Stormtroopers were leading the newly captured Mandalorians back to the City of Bone. The plan was simple. He and a small group of Mandalorian soldiers were to ambush the convoy and free the prisoners. it was brutal, blunt and to the point. Shysa knew he would be able to cut a huge swath in the battlefield, but it would all be for naught if he had no reinforcements. This battle was to be just as symbolic as it was concrete. He needed to send a message to the Imperials. A message that the Mandalorians were not to be taken for granted, that the Mandalorians were not to be underestimated. He needed to force the message that only Mandalorians governed other Mandalorians.

"Let's do this" the Mand'alor said as he upholstered an E-11 blaster rifle

Fenn Shysa let loose with a barrage of four bolts. Three Stormtroopers fell instantly to the opening salvo. A single Stormtrooper with an orange shoulder plate signaling he was a veteran returned fire with deadly accuracy. A blue armored Mandalorian took a round to the neck. The man gave a guttural groan as he attempted to claw away the mass of burning plastic and flesh. Fenn Shysa gave a sorrowed look before jumping down from the cliff on which he was settled. He fired another trio of shots before raising his weapon in the air

"FOR MANDALORE!" Fenn bellowed as he charged the line of Stormtroopers

Standard infantrymen. Some were okay, and others were simply bolt-sponges. Ice, a Sergeant in the Stormtrooper Corps with experience from Hapes looked on with two other stormtroopers from Phalanx Company. The SAU9V1 armor covering their bodies helped camouflage them in the tree-line to the east of the road which the battle was now taking place. As soon as the first burst of fire was heard, Ice and his two subordinates dropped to the prone and low-crawled their way so that they could observe the ambush. What then, would happen if the ambushers became the ambushed? Ice knew there were other scattered teams from the Stormtrooper Corps, including some from his own squad. The fact that the Mandalorians had effortlessly put themselves into a position where they could get slaughtered brought a small smile to Ice's hidden face. The initial contact, it seemed, was going to be very easy indeed. Mandalorians being the best? They would test that theory.

The trooper to Ice's right set up between two large trees, sticking the E-64 heavy repeater in between them. Not only did the tree provide him with cover and concealment, but they acted as sector stakes as well, so that if he ever got too over zealous he wouldn't start firing out side of his designated field of fire. The trooper to Ice's left prepped the IRL-5 and laid it between himself and Ice. He then shouldered his E-26 and aimed in. Ice nodded at his team's proficiency and aimed in on his own E-26. As soon as the Mandalorians were in the open and charging the Imperial line, or what they thought was the Imperial line, Ice squeezed the trigger and sent a blue bolt flying. The powerful bolt screamed through the air, it's target being the Mandalorian in the front waving his gun in a classic show of how many Mandalorians thought of honor and glory before killing the enemy and winning. They're ideals would be their downfall.

As soon as Ice's weapon barked, so did his team's. The trooper to the left fired his E-26 as fast as the semi-automatic heavy blaster rifle would let him, and the trooper to his right fired bursts of five to eight rounds with a one second pause between bursts. The field in which the Mandalorians thought the were going to win would quickly turn into a Mandalorian slaughter house. Few would escape the high-powered bolts incoming. Each trooper's fields of fire intersected, meaning that at any given moment two troopers were firing on one Mandalorian. The chaos it would spread was marvelous and the hate and discontent touching each of the Mandalorians would send chills down any man's spine. There was no communication needed between the three troopers. Their training allowed them the ability to simply act instead of having to communicate and plan. Such a sweet sight it was, dropping Mandalorians from the modern battlefields.

Shev'la lay camouflaged perfectly still underneath his painstakingly suit crafted from foliage and vegetation taken from the surrounding area. He lay further along the cliff that Mand'alor initiated the ambush from under a cluster of dense trees, about 100 meters away from the battle. For the moment Shev was tasked with providing overwatch. Another Mandalorian also serving as overwatch. A third man was hidden behind the trees, providing security for Shev and the other sniper. Several seconds into the ambush Stormtroopers who were hidden in a nearby treeline opened up on his vode.

'Osik,' he breathed, increasing the power of his Teroch-21's scope to get a better view of the treeline. Switching his comlink to the open channel he quickly stated, Mand'alor, heavy fire coming in from your east on the treeline.' Even for his skilled eyes it was hard to pick out the enemy troops there. 'Vod, see the Stormtrooper on the far right, setting something up?' Shev spoke to the other sniper.

' 'lek.' Yeah.

'On my command we take him,' Shev kept his breathing slow and deliberate, putting the crosshairs center of mass on the Imperial. Shev used his HUD to signal the order to fire. Both Mandalorians fired in unison, the culmination of countless hours spent training together. It was doubtful whether that armor would stand up to two .338 Strill impacts that were damn near simultaneous. The two snipers continued to keep an eye out and take shots at any Imperial foolish enough to poke out of cover.

Among all the stormtroopers there was an odd one. A purple skinned twi`lek, not even wearing a stormtrooper armor, was with the convoy. Her two DH-17 blaster pistols were holstered on her belt, as well as her vibrosword, her eyes covered by her visors and her leather armor, covering her body, made her look like a hired thug, next to the all equipped and geared stormtroopers.

Most of the others she didn`t know, but she recognised Andrea, as well as Sergeant Ice from the Phalanx Company. However she wasn`t so concerned with her allies, rather with the prisoneres they were escorting. To Vizzal it was more then clear that mandalorians would not leave things like this and abbandon their men. They were far too proud for that.

The twi`lek had not yet finished her thought, when blaster fire ensued and in the first second three stormtroopers crumbled to the ground. It was an ambush. Chaos followed. Vizzal quickled dropped and rolled sidewards until she reached the cover of some bushes. Quitely getting inside, her first job was to observe the situation and think of a course of action. She could see the mandalorians charging downhill, they weren`t too far away from her, so she pulled out her blasters and aimed well.

Just as she was about to fire a round of shots she saw a barrage of blaster fire brought down upon the mandalorian charges from the side. It was more then clear that Sergeant Steele had moved to counter-ambush the mandalorians. With a smile on her face she started firing from inside the bush, but not mindlessly barraging the enemy, as she was too close and they could notice her. Instead she took good aim and fired only one weapon at a time.

Vin stood back a few feet behind the Mandalore, dressed in his gold armor, and gripping a Westar-M5 blaster rifle in his right hand. Vin watched as his Mandalore jumped down from the ledge, and a fellow Mandalorian was shot directly in the neck and dropped to the ground. They were ambushing a group of Imperials that held their brothers captive but it just wasn't what Vin thought it would be. From his vantage point Vin watched as a barrage of blaster blots began tearing up the ground that the Mandalorians were charging too. If Vin had charged down the cliff he would most likely have been torn apart by all the bolts flying through the air. Luckily Vin, and two men had stayed put atop the cliff and they now had a chance to fight the Stormtroopers.

Taking advantage of his jet pack Vin launched himself into the nearest tree to get a better look at the events unfolding. Shots were being fired from the treeline to the east, and from the bushes on the other side of the road. Vin would have trouble shooting his blaster on target from the height he was at so he opted for a different approach. Grabbing a thermal detonator from his belt Vin pressed the detonator and threw the grenade from the tree towards the bush on the other side of the path. The grenade could kill whoever was in the bush if they didn't notice it, or it would force them out of the bushes and into another Mandalorian's line of fire.

Captain James Kyler Valker slung his massive E64 heavy repeat from his back, while many stormtroopers used their light semiautomatic weaponry, Valker believed the key to any situation was fire power. Today was no different he picked his first target, a golden Mandalorian who had jumped into a nearby by tree with the aid of his jet pack, under his helmet Valker grinned before ripping the tree top and the adjacent two tree tops to shreds.

Leave NONE alive! Show them the might of the Empire! Valker yelled as he continued to fire into the trees, no Mandalorian would survive this day.

Carien rolled her eyes within her helmet. The Imperial officer with the heavy repeater firing into the treetops and screaming at the top of his lungs clearly had no idea of ballistic trajectory. If you wanted to shoot someone in mid-air, you needed to aim in front and below of your target, especially if the target was descending past the point where you had no line of sight, such as the quite sturdy veshok trees. She continued to crawl and scurry through the underbrush, approaching the Imperial gunline from the flanks. Most auretiise thought the Mandalorians as unrefined. Brutish. Thugs for hire. They failed to realize that most Mandalorians had far more military training than any outsider, and just as firm a grasp of military discipline and tactics.

Drawing her heavy blaster pistol, her helmet's HUD painted the Imperial, a captain by the colouration and rank pips on his armour, in a clear red outline, making him stand out like a very sore thumb against the foliage. Nestled in the foliage herself, she set up the flip-down barrel support and took careful aim at the Captain's buy'ce, before checking the T-6's charge. It might be an ancient gun, a family heirloom, but she adored it. It might only have fifteen shots per clip, but it was classed as a "superheavy" blaster pistol, but also a blaster carbine, thanks to it's power and size. It was the perfect as far as she was concerned.

Squeezing down on the trigger of her weapon, she sent a short, clipped, message over the encrypted comlink to her fellow vode. "Oya." The weapon kicked, with a loud bd-waaap, as it released a bright blue bolt of energy, and a hiss of tibanna gas.
