Site Wide Event - Relics of the Markomani

I have tried to stick to the template as much as possible but as this was a site wide event instead of basic story line it was a bit difficult.

I will put a brief summary in first before you need to read all the parts:

This is a three part event line, with the goal of the winning faction receiving a large and advanced ship to help further their goals galaxy wide. This will also delve into a Lore Article I have also written for the Event as well. The Event is both PVP and PVE accessible to allow as many people as possible to interact in the gaining of this ship.

[Event] Search for the Markomani – Part 1

Backstory: During a search through a tomb on the independent planet of Yavin, a group of archeologists have found records that point the last known location of a Markomani City Ship. The information was initially passed back to the Republic but a rather dubious Dug Senator by the name of DebocaSejo took the information selling it to both the Hutt Cartel and the Jedi Exiles for a massive profit. Now with the information in the hands of all three major parties in the galaxy the race is on to find the first clue to the great ship.


Current Storyline: The tomb has given eight destinations with clues to the last known location of the Markomani ship, these are situated on Courscant, Nar Shadaar, Yavin, Kuat, Sullust, Utapah, Endor and Hoth. Once a faction has complete control of a tomb they will be given a partial set of coordinates, A faction needs to control three of these tombs to gain to access the full coordinates. (This pushes for both some sort of PVP but does allow some access to other players to just do PVE.)


Potential Plot Completion Requirements: Four completed threads per planet to complete access to that planets coordinates.


[Event] Theft of the Location – Part 1.5

Losing out on the race for three locations, the last faction is able to steal a copy of the coordinates from a rival by completing two out of three PVP threads.


[Event] The lost planet of the Markomani – Part 2

Backstory: The coordinates from the three planets have led them to a system near the deep core of the galaxy. Surrounded by hundreds of asteroids, the planet's surface seems to be a constant maelstrom of wind, rain and lightning. But the ship is nowhere in sight, signals are coming from both the asteroid belt and the planet surface itself.


Current Storyline: There are three signals in the asteroid belt and a further two on the planet. One appears to be in the ruins of a city and another a great temple on the north pole. The asteroids on close inspection are hollowed out and house massive shipyards.


Potential Plot Completion Requirements: Control of one of the planet side locations and one asteroids. This a joining of the two systems will show the last known hyperspace jump.


[Event] Tailing Them – Part 2.5

The losing faction can PVP to gain access to one of the other factions' ships to tail them to the last coordinates. (I would personally put a stipulation that these characters only from that faction could be involved with the final part.)


[Event] Timaeus – Part 3

Backstory: The hyperspace route from the Markomani home world leads to the far reaches of the Western Galaxy, far into the Unknown Regions. Upon dropping out of hyperspace you are greeted by the great ship, it is surrounded by a number of small asteroidstethered to its body.


Current Storyline: Upon scanning the ship, it appears to power on, a fleet of drone ships launches from its fighter bays. Signals come from three parts of the ship, which appear to be the engine bay, the weapons control room and the bridge.


Potential Plot Completion Requirements: Victory over two of the three points gains full access to the ship and its systems.


This would be official end of the Event line, with the winning faction gaining control of the Timaeus. I was also thinking of giving the largest contributor of the winning faction a personal bonus as well. Perhaps a piece of tech or credits. Though that would be admin to decide.

I have included another small Storyline/Event for the victorious faction as flavor as well.


[Event] Codename: Flight of the Dragons - Epilogue

Backstory: After gaining control over Timaeus, numerous systems begin to come online, including the ancient Hyperspace Navigation System. The Timaeus due to its size needs a large amount of fuel to run and collects this by harvesting nearby asteroids. The asteroids in the sector are enough for the ship to make one jump before refuelling again.


Current Storyline: Whilst clearing up the systems and attempting to translate the Markomani text to galactic basic, someone activates a system, Codename: Flight of Dragons. This plots a hyperspace route out of the known galaxy, this appears to be the ships original destination before it was left adrift for unknown reasons. The winning faction then has the choice of either activating the system and leaving the known galaxy for new adventures, or returning to the known galaxy to fight their enemies.


Potential Plot Completion Requirements: A minim of two threads to bring the systems online before jumping.
