Hello everyone! I'm sure my inactivity has not gone unnoticed and I'd like to apologize for that first and foremost. Sandy is an evil whore and tore up Long Island quite a bit. The following snow storm didn't help either. However, tonight will be my first night truly back in the saddle. My goals for tonight are:

1. Fixing the ranking system. This has been something that's been brought up time and time again in that the system I put in when I took office was too complicated. That'll be changed tonight back to a simpler one akin to the way it was.

2. The return of prestige in regards to ranking. In the olden days being an acolyte was not a cap on power, however it did ensure your life was pretty shitty and your freedom limited by quite a bit. You didn't need a master and could develop without one with ease through Story threads and things of that nature. This will be making a return as well since the strictness of power = rank is tiresome.

3. Posting of a Sith event. This one is still in the works but the base idea I have is for a bunch of Sith to explore old ruins lead by Varek and another Darth or two. Quite a few people will be able to get involved and hopefully it'll be a fun experience.

4. Posting in some RP threads I need to get to. More minor thing but also important.

So yeah, any questions or comments or other things that need to be done toss 'em up here.

How would people feel about another tournament? Not gonna post sign ups, just wanna know if it'd generate interest.

A master + acolyte tournament I would definitively sign up for.
As in, teams of masters(or crusaders) with one acolyte fighting other teams. Last team wins.

That's an interesting concept, BN. I hadn't thought of that. If I do that, it'd be some sort of obstacle course that the teams have to get through, so it's not just about fighting.

If it's just about fighting, I'd do a Crusader tournament since we had an acolyte one last time.

Lol, I foresee Masters using their Acolytes as fodder.

Ranks returned to the old ways of Acolyte --> Crusader --> Master -->Darth.

The first post in the Beliefs and Philosophy thread outlines how one goes about gaining the prestige to "rank up" but doesn't elaborate on what this means. Life as an acolyte is bound to be awful at best. You're, to put it nicely, at the utter mercy of other Sith and essentially have to listen to what they say unless you intend to kill them yourself. It provides little to no freedom and the character would realistically spend much of their time training on Korriban to get these shackles removed. At Crusader one is recognized as an actual member of the Order opposed to more cannon fodder. You get access to your own quarters on a training world, a ship, etc. Things are good at Crusader and if one really wants they could be as powerful as a Darth and hang out at this rank forever, much like what I did with Varek for some time.

For a TL;DR on that: Rank does not equal power level or anything like that. Your awesome shiny Crusader could possibly get stabbed in the face by an Acolyte who hasn't moved up yet. That goes both ways though. Don't get overconfident as the higher ups are generally those that have survived quite a bit of conflict so they probably know at least a little what they're doing.

So yeah, that's ranks and the prestige system in a nutshell.

I'd be up for the event, and if you're short on people for said tourny, i only have a master, but the difference between a crusader and a master isn't that huge.
