The good news was that Soleil's board sped up a bit again after the first lap ended and the second began. The bad news was that it continued to be slow compared to the others. As loath as he was to pay full price for new things- old habits and all- he was seriously considering a replacement board by this point.
At least it made the actual flying easy, even while trying to mess with foot controls, whirring in the lazy circle of the racetrack. Maybe if he kicked off some of the extra bits the board'd stop being terrible and actually fly, assuming that's where the presumed short was. He also supposed it gave his sponsor some visible airtime, eh? Sol was sure they were happier about that idea than the Wrean's face looked, thoroughly ticked off and nearly kicking the control surfaces.
