Life Before
I don't remember much of our parents. I know something happened to them and left Lara and I all alone in the streets of Iziz. I was always more of a father to her than a brother. I was fourteen when we hitched a ride to Coruscant. I thought life was going to get better for us. I was completely wrong.
Within a year, we were in dept up to our ears with the wrong people. Local gangs hunted us day after day and we found ourselves running from sector to sector. I needed to take care of Lara, y'know? She was only five at the time. I kept telling her that the only people we can trust is ourselves. Just the two of us. We were going to be okay as long as it stayed that way.
I was fifteen when Lara brought Alex to me. He had been beaten up pretty badly and his clothes were ripped. Against my better judgement, I helped Lara clean him up and feed him. We sat and had a long talk with him when he was finally ready. The kid was only a year younger than Lara but he had been in training in the Force as something called a Matukai. I had never heard of it before, and I didn't quite care at the time.
Lara begged me to take care of Alex. I couldn't say no to her. After all, the kid needed help and wasn't going to survive the streets on his own; that much had been apparent when he walked through my door.
The Fall
As soon as I turned seventeen, I enlisted in the Galactic Alliance Army. I requested for living arrangements for Lara and Alex. I got it cleared for Alex, but Lara ran off with a Jedi to the Temple and started living there as she started training. I left for bootcamp, but my training was excelerated when the Empire invaded Coruscant.
It was my first taste of combat, and it was terrible. We were slaughtered, no matter how we looked at it. My company killed a lot of Imperials, but they kept coming. We were evacuated in haste. Lara and Alex had been evacuated with the Jedi. I kept in contact with Lara at least. She was fine so I concentrated on where I was going.
What was left of my unit after the Battle of Coruscant was disbanded. Many of the guys went back to their home worlds. I wanted to but Onderon was the next step for the Imperials. Needless to say, I drank a good bit of stiff drinks after that.
Rebellion
I just missed the siege of Manaan when I joined the Rebellion. The veterans were some hard guys and gals, I'll tell you that much; and they have every right to be. We fought like kathhounds on Coruscant- I can only imagine what they had to fight like on Manaan.
Over the years I engaged in small skirmishes with the Imperials but nothing serious. Getting used to the new gear is a pain in my ass, but it beats the full body suits we had in the Alliance. They issued me a carbine; can you believe that? First chance, I'm getting myself a rifle. If I live that long.
