Slave Market (Ask)

It had been a long flight, especially for someone without a ship of their own. Public transportation from Coruscant to Mos Eisley never had the greatest company on board. But he'd made it, uneventfully, without tripping any alarms with the Republic, and without getting into any fights. The latter was probably because he hadn't drank anything, always knew better than to be drunk on any kind of mission.

He checked his wrist chrono, the support promised to him should be arriving soon, he truly hoped that the Coalition could provide better support than the small time gangs on Corellia, he wasn't in the mood for anymore scars.

His head rocked back against the wall of the entrance to the spaceport, he wasn't quite ready to brave the twin-suns, and his eyes began to fall shut as he waited, 'Ah a drink could really calm the nerves' he thought to himself, but no he'd need a clear head if he was going to impress his new employers, and being that death was an obvious downside to being unimpressive he intended to see this one through without any large failings.

Amelia and Allina Valtiere stood in one of the corners of the Mos Eilsey Spaceport. Both girls had donned light and airy outfits for their trip to Tantooine: Amelia in blue and Allina in green. Amelia spotted Lucius first, remembering him from their run-in on Coruscant, and grabbed Allina's hand before pulling her towards him. When they got closer they stopped and waited for him to approach them with the proper words.

Ah, yes code words, how he hated them, being forced to remember more than just his objective had always bothered him, there was a phrase, something about twin suns, which started to make sense when he noticed who it was they had sent. He'd run into them before, the outcome was partially responsible for his current employment.

"The twin suns shine brightest at mid-day." he was pretty sure that was it, might have been off by a word or two, but it should be close enough as long as they remembered who he was.

He stood straight up now, composing himself, the women in his old gangs had always told him he looked pretty good when he wasn't fall out drunk, and he didn't intend to disappoint this new group. A smile crept across his lips as he awaited their reply.

Those were the words and the twins both smiled at him. Amelia was the first to speak to him.

"You are quite the gentleman, Lucius"

That was her words back to him as if his code was about the girls and not the sun.

"Shall we go? There is a transport waiting for us about 8 kilometers from here and we need the exercise"

Allina smiled after the words exited her mouth. The twins were used to walking, but who knew how Lucius would feel about it.

He smirked, he had either made some sort of an impression upon their first meeting, or the higher ups had given them more information about him. Walking, now that did seem a prospect, but for one without a ship or transport of his own Lucius actually did walk a lot, typically meandering around aimlessly, or completely lost, but walking none the less.

"I do try," he replied, a smart remark to their response "a walk, with two beautiful ladies, I couldn't think of a more pleasant way to spend my day."

He gave a slight gesture for them to lead the direction, and took up alongside Amelia, double checking that his pistol was securely hidden, and his rifle strapped to his back, the things he'd heard about Sand People irked him ever so slightly.

Amelia and Allina both rolled their eyes as they started walking towards the transport that would bring them to the settlement. Both girls pulled veils over their faces to keep the sand from getting into unwanted places.

"What all did they tell you about this mission?"

Amelia knew that 'they' was most likely her mother or father. She smiled at the thought of them and made a mental note to visit with Allina once this mission was over.

He smirked softly, eyes rolled simply meant that they'd caught some of the undertone to his statement, the code had been over but he still played with smooth words, wether or not it was taken as a 'pass' or not was yet to be seen, but knowing they had some relationship to the bosses made him wonder wether he had meant it as such or not.

"Only that we were here to procure some form of contraband and move it off world to be sold to an ally." he remarked, he assumed that a mission requiring three individuals was more than just a spice shipment, but wasn't sure the degree of it all.

"Yes, that contraband consists of people from a small settlement to the east"

"Our job is to go to the settlement and press them into slavery. It's unsavory, but it is what needs to be done"

"I hope you still are good to continue"

 

[Darth Nyne]

Well it wasn't the greatest thing he'd ever do, but probably not the worst either. It was a life of crime he had chosen, so who was he to turn away from it over something as petty as slavery. Could be worse, it could be Wookiees, now that would be where he'd draw the line, mostly because he liked all his arms and legs in tact.

"So what's the plan then, I'll try and sweet talk them," he offered up a joking grin "and if that's doesn't work you two are the muscle?"

He had only been half joking, he remembered how quick they were on the draw, and knew they could be the intimidation factor if necessary.

Allina laughed half-heartily at his suggestion before speaking.

"They are very poor and in need of lots of things that they cannot get here on Tantooine due to prices and the Sand People. We are simply going to offer them safe travel off world and promise a nice place for them to live"

They had already covered some distance during their exchange, but they still had a while to go.

"And if that doesn't work then we will use force"

Amelia finished.

Ah, force, the idea was appealing, but in the slave market damaged goods fetched less of a price. Though the fact that it was even brought up put a smile on his face. He gave a glance back, noting that Eisley was quite a ways back, he began to wonder how much longer till the transport, and what it carried for amenities. He then turned his head to Amelia, having made a small decision in his own mind.

"I'd suppose force should be a last resort in this matter, product quality and all." he remarked in regards to the mission "Maybe we," he quickly amended this as to not sound too full of himself "the three of us, and of course anyone else that was interested, could have a drink or two when all's said and done?"

Maybe he shouldn't have even thought to offer, but one very rarely lived a long life in this business, might as well try to enjoy it while it's here.

Both girls snickered in amusement as they continued to walk.

"How old--"

"are you?"

 

[Darth Nyne]

Walking along, he shook his head as they snickered.

"I'm a mere 27 standard years," he smirked "far from an old man if that's what you're thinking."

Just over the dune the were crossing he noted what looked like a transport, he only assumed it must be theirs as not many would be just lying around out here.

Amelia looked at Allina and smiled evily. It was time to have some fun with Lucius...at his expense of course.

"Well...we don't think that's very old, but we have a very protective older brother and father"

"Yeah, they tend to kill anyone who makes advances at us"

"Just warning you"

Both girls smiled innocently at him as they picked up their pace some.

Left slightly behind as he registered what was being said, he finally picked up his pace after a few seconds catching up.

"Well, I don't recall asking them for a drink, it was a question for you, erm the two of you." he replied, soft smile everpresent on his face, he pointed in the distance towards the transport. "Is that us?" he asked.

"They usually follow us everywhere--"

"Just to keep us safe, of course"

Amelia looked into the distance and nodded. It was their transport was waiting for them only a short distance away from where they were. The heat was starting to get to the twins though and they were looking forward to the cool air awaiting them.

"Yes, that's us"

 

[Darth Nyne]

He felt a bit wounded by their response, "Just to keep us safe, of course" as if he would have intentions of any wrongdoing, of course there was the fact that he'd pointed a weapon at them on their first meeting.

The heat, yes it was getting to him now, he'd noted what some of the denizens of Eisley had been wearing, and was starting to regret the pants and long sleeve shirt he'd chosen, though were a sand storm to kick up he'd appreciate not having his arms pelted.

They were almost to the transport now, it was almost time to drop the smooth talk and get into the mindset of someone prepared to shoot at any second. The lack of any real policing agency made this planet the perfect to nab people from, hopefully it all went off without a hitch, but he had to ready himself for anything at this point.

"Guess it's about time to get serious." he said, drawing his pistol and doing some last minute checks to ensure it was in proper order, setting it down to stun to ensure he wouldn't kill any of their prey.

Amelia pushed her hand into the security panel on the transport and the door slide open. Amelia stepped up the two stairs into the ship and waited for the other two to follow before closing the door. It was a large enough to carry at least forty people which was perfect since the settlement only had about thirty people.

"You can put that away...it's another hours ride from here"

Amelia checked the door then gave the coordinates to the driver and took a seat next to Allina in one of the seats.

He'd slid in the door, and for a long moment he stood, looking out the viewport to ensure that they didn't have any kind of tail, or a sign that anyone had been sent to derail their current plans. Everything still seemed to be going ok, which typically meant that something bad would end up happening. He'd rarely seen an operation of this magnitude go off completely smoothly.

"An hour he said," finishing his pistol check and sliding it back into his wasteline, he finally moved to a seat. "then back to this drink thing, are you saying I should expect to be shot if we ended up at the same club together, the same table, or just the same taxi when we left?" he said, the last line forming an almost childish grin on his face.

Both twins shrugged at the same time and smiled at him.

"Maybe we might shot you--"

"if you get drunk like our first meeting"
