Oh they really-didn't like the fire. They had good reason to, obviously, but they also certainly didn't hide it. While blaster bolts were firing everywhere, a disporportionate amount was being focused on Uhtred, and Uhtred alone. Uhtred couldn't even break cover.

"I think they're mad!", Uhtred yelled out over the shooting. Sabrina seemed to be up again, which was good... and decapitating the opposition, no less.

Stiffly inhaling, Uhtred flipped his lockbow around the side of his cover and started firing blindly, still unable to even take aim due to the firepower getting concentrated on him. Unfortunately, that fact proved to be a deadly factor, as a stray blaster bolt hit Uhtred's lockbow directly, blowing it apart. The burst of heat burned Uhtred's hand to the third degree, but it was the concussive force of the blast that caused the true harm to him; in the wake of his weapon getting blown apart, Uhtred's body was launched toward the wall, near to where he was taking cover. It wouldn't have been a problem, lest it hadn't been Uhtred's head that was the first point of contact from the impact. Banging his head with the full brunt of the force, Uhtred was instantly knocked unconscious, putting him out of the fight unless some sort of outside intervention or the passage of time saved him.

This "holding the room" stuff was going less than well.

So far Valar had had to bring back Sabrina from the brink and now Uhtred seemed to have decided that getting knocked out was obviously what all of the cool kids were doing because he had gotten himself knocked the hells out as well. Growling in barely concealed anger, Valar patted Sabrina on the shoulder.

"Cover me!"

Grabbing one of the few medical kits remaining, Valar doze across the room in yet another mad dive to a wounded teammate. He was beginning to get bloody sick of it! Groaning at his landing, which had been none too gentle, he repeated the same process as he had done with Sabrina. He might have slapped the man across the face once as well but he clearly deserved it for being someone who wasn't actually doing so hot in battle.

Standing up, Valar batted blaster bolts back down the corridor, hitting one of the enemies with his own blaster bolt but otherwise not really accomplishing anything of note.

"Soon!"

He didn't need to say what was soon - the door was almost closed and they were almost done.

one more round of dice before the doors close and mission complete

She saw her lightsaber hit the deck, and then began concentrate with the force and reached out to it. She could feel it move, it then began to gain some momentum. It then flew in to her hand, her damaged hand. That made her wince more, she had tear of pain come down her eyes. She could not cry out in pain ether, and she just about keeping it focused. Then she lite up once more, and threw it again. The blade swung wildly towards another pirate, it cut into his shoulder and cut off his arm. He fell ack howling in pain, on the deck behind the barrel. His blaster was destroyed as well, sliced down the middle with her lightsaber. She could not control it though, she was in pain and it was taking its toll on her. This time her lightsaber was lost, it broke against the wall behind the now screaming pirate. She could hold back the pain anymore, she turned her body against the wall slid down it. She was out of this one for now, she had no weapons, and she could not hold back the tears of pain any longer. She did not count the pirates, but fortunately there was only one left. Also only one of them who might be combat capable.

One minute, Uhtred remembered pointing his lockbow around the edge of his cover and firing... the next, Valar was kneeling over him and slapping him across the face. There were about a hundred questions racing across Uhtred's mind, but fortunately for him, the bang to his head didn't cause any lingering concussive damage, and Uhtred was more or less able to draw awareness of what happened, even if he couldn't actually remember it. For one reason or another, he'd hit his head, and hard. In turn, it was a short deduction that followed as Uhtred saw his lockbow in pieces, having been blown apart. He'd had that weapon since he was seventeen years old.

"Þú tahla'ada skiderik!", Uhtred yelled out, breaking cover as he pulled his Strill pistol from its holster and started firing down the venue of the closing blast doors, striking two more pirates in the head. It hadn't even occurred to him that he was mixing languages, both Mando'a and Deucalic, in his cursing, but frankly, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. This was just pure adrenaline, pure rage, as he shot down the two mercenaries, all the while putting a blaster bolt in a third, not killing him, but wounding him at his lower abdomen.

He was the last pirate in the area, from all that Uhtred could tell. But now, there would be no more chances, no more attrition. The three of them had taken some hits, some bruises, and some of them more than others, but as a whole they'd taken the pirates' best shot and come up standing. In mere moments, it would then be their turn to strike.

The damned pirates were beginning to get on Valar's last nerve even as he continued to deflect their attacks with his lightsaber. He had no ranged attacks aside from the Force remaining and he didn't want to commit to using it at this stage - he was, after all, getting rather tired.

They had been fighting like this for what felt like days, even if it was, at most, an hour.

Deflecting another two shots, Valar grinned in satisfaction as they both managed to make it out through the closing doors to slam into one of the pirates.

But then it was done.

The doors finally closed and locked themselves down tighter than anything else on this damned station. Taking a deep breath, Valar let it out slowly as he extinguished his lightsaber. There was a sudden noise behind the doors before deathly silence that filled Valar with a sense of accomplishment.

Moving over to the console, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"It's over." he told his allies, sitting down heavily in one of the seats around the room that had survived the blaster fire, "The rest of the station is in the process of being vented. Once it reestablishes the atmosphere we can leave this room and leave this blasted station."

He groaned slightly, closing his eyes for a moment.

"It's finally over."

It had been a long day.
