What if
Sith is English for "since" and Old English "siþ" means late or after.
Naboo, or Nabu, is a Babylonian name for the God of Wisdom.
Rey means "king" in Spanish, as well as some proto-Latin languages.
Finn is the name of a dwarf in Norse Mythology, which itself is probably a racist depiction of the Finnish people. (Not talking about Boyega here, I mean that Finns are dwarves)
Ren means "kidney", or a strip of unplowed land between estates in Danish. (Conspiracy theory: between Light and Dark?)
Face it, Kylo is what you get when you mash "Sky"walker and "Solo" together.
Snoke is an Old English variation of snook, meaning to smell, search out, pry into; to lie lurking for a thing
Damask (the surname of Plageuis) is an old English transliteration of Damascus. What does that mean? Probably nothing. My characters surname Dimash was purposefully derived from a pronounciation of Damascus in a dialect of Arabic. Means nothing.
Maz Kanata is a combination of Maz, an Old High German word for meat or perhaps Latvian for "little", and kanata, the Dakota root word that Canada is named after meaning village or settlement.
Ahch-to could be derived from Proto-Indo-European "akka", ach in Welsh, which means kinship, ancestry, lineage; where to could be Danish for "wash" or the more common translation of To as "yours"
Just to throw this out there:Vader is father in German.
My sister sat and watched all the films with me before we went to see the force awakens. And she guessed pretty soon that he was one of the main characters fathers.
