"... When Ma died shortly after I was born, Pa had decided to name me Snow in honor of her dream to see the frozen flakes in person.."

When I say that the Uvena system is my home, my place of origin, I actually mean the actual system. You see, Pa never told me which planet I was born on. Instead, he'd just shake his head, chuckle, and tell me, 'All of Uvena is your home. Surrounded by darkness, you were born under the light of the star.' To be honest, I was utterly confused when I was a child, but now that I think about it, the answer was quite obvious. Whenever I would bring up my suspicions that I was born on a starship with Pa, he'd do the same thing as he always did when I brought up the subject of my birthplace.

Thing was, the grinnin' ol' geezer didn't shake his head.

Eventually, I gave up on pestering Pa about it since it was obvious he'd never give me a straight answer. Not that I really cared - it certainly gave me something to think about for a couple of years. Movin' on, my parents were quite different from most other Shistavanens. They weren't isolationists like the countless others, rather, they actually took it upon themselves to explore the galaxy in order to learn more about it and its inhabitants, all while displaying a great deal of curiosity. This curiosity and desire to learn might have been what influenced them to act so differently compared to other Shistavanans. However, even though the culture outside of Uvena influenced them so much, the two stuck together on their adventures, havin' known each other for years prior to leaving Uvena and were more at ease with someone of their own race. At least, that's what Pa told me - I think they just liked one another. After all, after a few years, I was born.

Unfortunately, I never knew my mother as she had died shortly after I was born. When I asked Pa what she was like, he'd say, 'She was beautiful, kind, and cared more for the conditions of others than that of herself,' then he'd laugh, 'This sounds like something I've heard so many times before, so sappy, but I don't have any other way to say it. Although, she wasn't like a.. what do you call it.. Ah! A maiden in distress! That woman could flip a switch and be the toughest person I've ever met when she wanted to!' I loved learning who Ma was, and Pa was more than happy to tell me stories about her. When I asked what she looked like though, he got real quiet. After a few minutes, he silently told me with a wistful look..

'Look into a mirror, and you'll see her looking back at you.'

It would take a while, but eventually he'd cheer up and go about his usual business or we would continue talking about Ma or something else.

Now, if you haven't learned by now, I loved to ask questions - I still do - and one of the questions I asked the most was 'what's the galaxy like?' Pa never told me. He thought it would be better to show me instead, and he was right. Pa and I would live on Uvena Prime for the next few years. So on my tenth birthday, he decided it was time to leave Uvena behind again, and would give me one of the greatest gifts I've ever gotten. To him, it was a simple task to surprise me. He told me to keep my eyes closed until he told me it was okay to open them again. It took a while and a bit of walking, but eventually he told me it was fine. When I opened my eyes, in front of me was a starship, the one that Pa and Ma used over a decade ago.

I was ecstatic.

Judging from Pa's laughing face at the time, I'd say that he was happy and excited as well. It wasn't long afterward that he gave me a tour of the ship with me asking an endless barrage of questions, all of which he gave an answer to. And after the tour, he told me that he was going to take me out into the galaxy if I wanted to go. Of course, he didn't have to ask - I said yes, many, many times.

For three years I've traveled with Pa across the entire galaxy, seeing all sorts of strange and different people, planets, and civilizations. I've been to worlds controlled by different nations that held conflicting beliefs. I've walked on planets that had meager civilizations as well as those that were completely dominated by man-made metropolises. I've also seen a number of them wrought with corruption, crime, and poverty. Yet, for everything I've seen in three years, I haven't even scratched the surface of what is truly out there in the galaxy.

Although, exploring the galaxy with Pa wasn't the only thing I had been doing. Not too long after we departed from Uvena, I displayed an interest in pyrotechnics. So, with a great reluctance that I had ever seen before, Pa hired someone he believed trustworthy and skilled in explosives to teach me a few things about the craft. It wasn't long until they discovered I was seemingly soaking up the teachings like a sponge. My tutor would continue to guide me for the next few years while we traveled all over the galaxy. Then, after four years, I made a simple yet costly mistake while experimenting with a volatile mixture that nearly cost me my life.

I don't remember anything that happened, not the explosion nor what happened afterward. All I could remember were the moments leading up to it and about two months afterwards, nothing but a dense fog in between. Luckily, I'm still alive as you can see. Unfortunately, in exchange for my life, I lost an arm and an eye to the unexpected detonation, and during those two months I cannot recollect to save my life, my missing arm was replaced with a basic prosthetic one, nothing fancy. As for my eye, I put some cloth over it, kinda like a pirate you read about in stories with the eye-patches and stuff.

However, even with my life out of danger, I could still remember Pa being angry, upset, worried - you name it - for the next two years. He was always checkin' up on me when he could and hardly let me out of his sight when we were on a planet. I mean, I can understand why he did it, but the whole trip that seemed like a dream come true for me, even after the accident, became more and more... stifling I suppose. It wasn't anything like it used to be.. Every moment was tense, paranoid, and conflicting. He wanted to keep me close, to keep me out of harms way after what happened, but I wanted the freedom that I had before, without him always hovering over my shoulder.

So when we arrived on Tatooine, I told him I wanted to leave, to go on my own.

The silence lasted only for a few moments before Pa erupted. I won't go into the details, but to put it simply, he wasn't exactly happy about the whole idea of me going off on my own. However, I stood firm, unwilling to risk losing my chance for freedom. We stood there arguing on that ship, just sitting in the docking bay, for what seemed like hours. However long it was, he eventually gave up. He just.. gave up after seeing I wouldn't budge. Neither of us spoke as I walked down the ramp of the ship and into the docking area.

Without a word, he handed me the credits that he was saving up for my eighteenth birthday; it was a fairly large sum, perhaps one of the largest I had ever seen in person. I just took them and nodded in thanks. Then we went our separate ways.

One of the worst days of my short life if I had to say anything. Not physically draining, but it sure felt like it with my emotions all swirlin' 'round the drain.

With Pa gone and with a large amount of credits, the first thing I set out to look for was a cheap yet reliable ship. There were a lot of cheap ones, none all too reliable should things get rough. The search lasted about a month or two when I heard that someone was pawning off a Corellian freighter in relatively good condition and a reasonable price - something fairly difficult to find on a planet like Tatooine. Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one wanting to get my hands on the vessel. Actually winnin' the through a biddin' war took a good chunk out of my newly obtained credits, but I got the ship and I was off that planet as soon as I could get it prepped for takeoff.

Everything after that seemed to just blur together, with only a few events of note happenin' as a year or two went by. I upgraded my prosthetic arm with better quality, and more expensive, cybernetics and even got a new eye of exceptional quality, something I was more than happy to get a hold of. 'Course, with the payments to repair and upgrade the ship, the new cybernetics, parts and pieces of explosives that I could assemble in my spare time, and my beloved N95-20 'Zues' Police Special, and standard version, I kinda spent just about every single cred I had in my pockets.

Livin' in my nice, comfortable ship should solve the problem of a place to sleep until it gets so badly damaged it needs to be sent in for repairs. Again. Which is goin' to suck when it does happen. Oh well. At least I still got some parts and scrap metal. I suppose I can make some frag grenades to sell on the black market.. they certainly do sell fast...

Oh, err.. well, that's enough about my life's tale! If you've actually listen to me ramble on about it all the way till the end, congratulations! You get... um.. sorry, nothin'!

NAME: Lovkra, Snow E.
SPECIES: Shistavanen
GENDER: Female
AGE: 29 Standard Years

HEIGHT: 1.71 Meters
WEIGHT: 68.4 Kilograms
EYES: Cerulean Blue
PELT: Light Gray - White
HAIR: White

AFFILIATION: Alda Industries - Independent
BRANCH: Research and Development
RANK: None
OCCUPATION: Mechanic / Pyrotechnician; Explosives Expert and Craft / R&D for Alda Industries

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Cybernetics - Left Arm, Right Eye, Right Ear.
FORCE SENSITIVE: No

SHIP: YV-545 Light Freighter - 'Uvena-Bound'

GEAR: A N95-20 'Zeus' - Police Special, of which she cares for lovingly because of the stun function and its simple yet reliable makeup, and a standard version acting as a backup. Large selection of explosive devices on her person, usually consisting of standard fragmentation grenades, detonators, and, on certain occasions, high explosives meant for demolition. Snow also carries around a stun baton for close encounters should the N95-20 not be of effective use. She also carries around a small assortment of tools for field maintenance.

ATTRIBUTES:
STRENGTH:
ΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨ - Upgrades to the cybernetics on her person have enhanced her strength a fair amount, primarily for heavy-lifting, but also for self-defense. One should avoid her left arm if engaged in hand-to-hand combat with her.
DEXTERITY:
ΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨ - She still retains her superior speed, mobility, and flexibility from her younger days and, should she get into a fight, prefers to outmaneuver and out-think her opponents to fighting them head on.
CONSTITUTION:
ΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨ - Lovkra is healthy and rarely succumbs to illness. Also, while she can take a few punches, prefers to avoid confrontation when possible.
INTELLIGENCE:
ΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨ - Intelligent in terms of mechanical terms and activities, especially when such activities involve explosive devices. She spends her spare time either expanding her already impressive knowledge on technology or learning about new things.
WISDOM:
ΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨ - Immensely curious, perhaps even more so than her younger days, about the galaxy. She will learn what she can and commit herself to remembering it. Also, while intelligent, she is still young and may not make the best decisions.
CHARISMA:
ΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨΨ - Spending her earlier years selling wares on less-than-reputable planets has somewhat familiarized her to the world of business.

PERSONALITY: Snow Lovkra is a very curious Shistavanen, willing to learn just about anything, whatever the subject, especially if it is new to her. In terms of her interactions with other people that inhabit the galaxy, she does not seem to display any form of prejudice or favoritism to anyone, regardless of their beliefs, motives, or goals. One should also note that she treats everyone with a friendly demeanor and is always up for small-talk and fun encounters, unless they display hostility towards her for whatever reason. She shows no preference over any of the governments that span across the galaxy, although, she tends to avoid some of the more corrupt and crime-infested planets if she can, but they are places where she can sell her wares quickly and without any questions. One should note that while she is more than likely to lend her assistance to someone who may need it, should it come in terms of currency, then she becomes reluctant to lend or spend any credits due to her financial situation.

As she has grown older, her personality has not changed very much - she remains relatively carefree and kind, always lending a helping hand to someone who may need it. Even whilst working she often has a smile - however, she does take her work seriously and treats her tools, parts, and volatile substances with a great deal of care.

CYBERNETIC ENHANCEMENTS:
CYBERNETIC RIGHT EYE
Snow's right eye is a cybernetic replacement for her eye after she lost it in an explosion while she was young. It is the same color as her organic eye - Cerulean Blue - and possesses two primary functions. The first one allows the scanning of an organism's vital signs of up to ten meters away; the closer the subject is, the more accurate the information is and the faster it is collected. The second function allows her to scan mechanical objects of up to twenty-five meters away in order to discern the material makeup of the object; as with the other function, the closer the object is, the more accurate the information is and the faster it is collected. The second function is primarily used when Snow prepares to do maintenance on her gear, particularly her cybernetic left arm.

* The eye has an established connection with her cybernetic arm, allowing her to effectively display information in its integrated datapad located on the forearm.

CYBERNETIC RIGHT EAR
After the fall of the New Jedi Order, Snow had finally decided that she would update her cybernetics. Eventually, she even went and made herself a new ear - rather, as she stated, fix it. She attached it to whatever was left of her ear and gave it the appearance of a Shistavanen ear, sans the technological look of it. Aside from appearances, the upgrade allows her to actually move her ear - not as fast as if it were her original, but it does give her a sense of comfort. The enhancement does not possess a great deal of functions. In fact, it's primary purpose and function is simply to amplify Snow's ability to hear, should she increase its ability to do so.

CYBERNETIC LEFT ARM
The left arm of Snow is of somewhat higher quality than what someone would usually find in a traditional market. The reason as to why it is considered to be higher quality than most is most likely due to the effort she puts into constantly upgrading and maintaining it. Originally, the arm was simply meant to be a replacement for her original one, of which was lost completely from just below the shoulder. However, as time progressed, the cybernetic limb has adapted to where it is primarily used for heavy lifting or otherwise physically demanding events. It currently has an integrated datapad that allows Snow access to the HoloNet, holographic communications, and informative screens provided by her right eye. Also, compared to her original limb, her enhanced arm allows her two to three times the strength - whenever safety and/or strength parameters are surpassed, the cooling system activates to prevent overheating; this process takes a few moments and disallows enhanced strength for a brief period.

As time progresses, Snow steadily improves upon the cybernetic limb's abilities - strength, accessibility, reliability, et cetera.

* If there were ever a time to avoid being patted on the back or, most obviously, punched, it would be a good idea to listen to your instinct when it tells you to get out of the cybernetic limb's way; failure to react in time has resulted in - bruising, severe pain, fractured and/or broken bones, etc.

I'd appreciate any feedback, criticism, or concerns anyone may have about the character - I am unused to creating bios in such a manner, but I thought I'd try it out. Thanks in advance!

More Shistevanen to the party! I approve!

Haven't read the character bio, but I like the concept of her being an indie. I'll certainly read it when I'm not tired and sleepy. Art is good, did you do it yourself? The only thing that stands out to me, in a not good way, is the small font for her story part. At least I tend to think that it's a bit small.

Thanks! I did sketch her a couple days back when I got the idea of having a more outgoing individual from a isolationist race leap out into the galaxy. As for the font, I could always raise it a size or two, no problem there.

Trying for two at once, Gaja?

That bio, and the character in general, is adorable. Very good job, well done!

Hmm, while adorable wasn't while I was going for exactly, thanks!

I wanted to make a somewhat nonlethal inventory, as Snow would like to refrain killing anyone. However, I also wanted her to pack a punch when it was needed, hence the multitude of explosive devices.

I thought that the N95-20 was a good fit for her considering it's stun function and simple yet reliable makeup. Plus, I didn't really want her to have some high-tech, military grade weapon. >_>

In preparation for the Time-Skip, I've updated the character image and made some changes to Snow's basic information (read - POST-SKIP INFORMATION). Will make necessary additions/alterations to history, basic information, etc. when I have the time and/or when I actually get some sleep.
