What the jedi lacked in numbers they made up for in brains. Something that some sith never learned to use. Vindict was one of those who preferred a well thought through plan rather than a head on rush. He, however, wasn't the only one who thought that way.

Viole was a miraluka and a member of the sith order. Vindict had first encountered him not long ago on Mygeeto, where the miraluka and several others were fending off an overwhelming pirate invasion when Vindict arrived with reinforcements and helped crush the instigators.

After the battle, however, the sith had wondered whether his help was needed at all. True the defenders were down to only a few and were heavily outnumbered. On the other hand they had managed to bring down the numbers of the invaders drastically and with some more thought they would've been able to preserve the base and even capture the leader. Perhaps the outcome wouldn't have been the same, perhaps some of the pirates would've escaped. But two things are certain. One that reinforcements wouldn't always be there to save the day and two that from what Vindict had seen the defenders in that base had managed to quickly cope with the situation and make the best of it and with a little more practice they would make great tacticians.

One of them had arranged a practice session with Vindict and that one was Viole.

The master was meditating in one of the simulation rooms of the temple. He was dressed in the traditional black sith cloak. He was well prepared and all he was waiting for was his counterpart.

Viole was surprised when Vindict had responded to his request for training, further surprised to find out that the man was accepting him. He was making his way to the location provided to him with haste though. After seeing what he saw on Mygeeto, Viole did not want to be on the receiving end of this guy's anger. The Acolyte was dressed in more casual clothing for today. A simple pair of black linen pants and a black tunic with red trim. His dark hair was wet from a shower he had just taken, one simply doesn't appear before a powerful Sith smelling like the inside of a Rancor. His lightsaber was clipped onto his belt as usual, and his eye mask, as usual, was securely fastened on his face. Being on Mygeeto had opened Viole's eyes to a lot of things. Things he needed to improve on, and things he wished to discover. Viole would always consider himself wiser than most his age, simply because most his age didn't have to deal with the Force in it's entirety on top of having a history of being a slave. Viole would also consider himself pretty smart, having foregone brute force and bloodlust, for more brainy pursuits.

But that didn't mean he was omnipotent, and he wasn't even in the same league as other Sith.

Having these gifts, these talents, would mean nothing if he couldn't apply them in a real world situation. Looking back on that mission on Mygeeto, he felt that there were flaws in his system. He felt he was lacking in a lot of areas. Areas that wouldn't be acceptable. He had Cristo with him that time. He got off lucky. Next time he may have to work with someone...less desirable. Someone who needed to be told what to do as opposed to thinking for themselves. In a situation like that, Viole needed to know that he could step up to the plate. Which is why he was thankful that Vindict agreed to do this. There was more to a battle than fancy moves and the Force. Planning, strategy, prediction, and control...One's tactics on the battlefield could turn what appears to be a losing battle into a win, and Viole had heard of many great strategists who could plot and plan so effectively that the enemy didn't even know what was happening until their ships were being ripped asunder. Viole dreamed of being that good some day...but it started with this.

He stepped into the room with Vindict and noticed the Force's energies around him. He was meditating. Not willing to interrupt him, he would stand by the wall and wait to be addressed.
