Some Recent Lore Questions

So, I've been out of RP for a while, working on a character idea to run a plot arc through with some folks. Have some questions to fire at you, rather than attempting to go through scores of pages of RP. Indulge me if you will.

1. What happened to the Republic as a main faction?
2. Are there any worlds which resist Sith rule? Specifically, looking for mid-level insurgencies where my character might originate from.
3. I've noticed the Indie faction called Guardian fights for the Republic; is this "Republic" an idea moreso than a reality at this point?
4. Assuming I want to RP a rebel, is "Indie" the most appropriate title? (note: rebel not Rebel, I'm assuming there's no official Rebellion, so I'm looking at local resistances)
5. How long has it been, IC'ly, since the Republic collapsed?

1. Basically got steamrolled by the Sith after the battles of Coruscant and Chanrilla
2. I cant think of anything specifically. You have some options there since nothings really been set in stone.
3. @Fyremage Guardian is more of a black ops group that originated within the Republic. Fyre can tell you more.
4. It would. Although I'm currently running a sort of from the ground up rebel faction called Galaf if you're interested.
5. About five years.

Hello! Allow me to help out with some of your questions:

1. The Republic was dissolved. It was more or less destroyed by the Sith Empire, with its surviving remnants being absorbed by the Mandalorian Dominion and the Jedi Order

2. If you are looking for a resistance type of feel, GALAF is a resistance group that likely has support from other worlds.

3. Guardian is a former Black Ops organization that has gone rogue after the fall of the Republic. They conduct clandestine and covert operations against the Sith. It would be comparable to what we would imagine the CIA or FBI doing should the US fall to a foreign power.

4. See above answers.

5. It has been around 5 years since the fall of the Republic IC.

1. Republic collapsed. Territories gone or absorbed by the bad guys
2. Pretty much all of them, I'd imagine, if they were conquered territories. If you mean any world specific, not to my knowledge
3. Yep. Republic's gone, Guardian is basically fighting to ultimately lay the foundation for its (eventual) restoration
4. Again, yep.
5. Five years

Awesome responses, guys, thanks! @Outlander Is there a page for the GALAF, it is something I'd probably be interested in being part of, but would like more details. I'm thinking more like a loose organization rather than official association, uniforms and such. Something where individual initiative and activity are encouraged rather than top-down stuff. @Fyremage definitely thinking more of the GALAF feel, but I'm sure the CIA wouldn't mind contacts on the ground, so there might be a level of association, who knows. I might PM you guys some time, we can have some sort of RP to flesh out that relationship, perhaps.

Which Sith leadership person isn't so overworked that I might be able to ask what planets have the most resistance on them, so I don't step on anyone's toes.
