The Temple was rather thoroughly destroyed, that much could be said for certain. It had taken several shots from the Sith ships and that tended to have a rather drastic effect on masonry. It hadn't destroyed the Temple entirely because they hadn't actually wanted the Temple reduced to rubble.

Just battered - a testament to Sith power - so that everyone could still see that it was a Jedi Temple... and that it had fallen.

Sat atop the once pristine stone steps that would have led up to the Temple, Evandrus sat, reclined, with his helmet resting atop his knee. He was helping himself to a bottle of wine that he had liberated from one of the kitchens in the Temple. The Jedi had been cooking with it... and it was a rather rare, rather delicious, Alderaanian red.

And they called the Sith evil.

The surrounding areas were cleared by Imperial forces so it was currently just the Sith Lord, sitting and enjoying his looted alcohol - sometimes it was nice to be able to take a break and savour a moment.

Splintr fell with almost no resistance from the Jedi against the Sith invaders. That was strange, Spencer would have thought that the Jedi would be defending their temples. One by one they are all going down and if this keeps up they won't have any left. Spencer signed on for a mission against the Jedi, to make sure that the Caves of Light and Shadow were cleared so the Sith could begin influencing them more towards the Dark Side. Spencer knew that by signing up for this, he was expecting to have been facing off against people he called brothers as a former Jedi himself, and would most likely have to kill them if they stood in his way, and was prepared to do so. But that's not what happened. Nonetheless everything went smoothly on the planet, Spencer would then see Darth Evandrus atop the steps heading in the fallen Temple. Spencer, wearing his armor and all his other equipment, would then go up the stairs casually. Looks like Evandrus is already helping himself to some of the plunder already.

Spencer would then sit next to his best friend, looking left and right, not saying anything yet. After a pause, Spencer would then look towards Evandrus before breaking his silence, not before letting out a light chuckle though. "Heh, enjoying the spoils already?" he accompanied with a smile.

Evandrus felt the approach of Spencer as he was just looking out across the view that the seat atop the stairs afforded him. There wasn't any falling snow so the view was, in a word, breath-taking as every part of the valley below could be seen with crystal clear clarity. He hummed a little bit, a smirk slowly making itself known as he took another sip of the aforementioned wine before offering the bottle to his friend.

"They were using it in cooking." he declared with a click of his tongue, "I always knew that leaving the Jedi Order was the best choice but this? Well this really just cemented that in my mind I have to say - honestly, who uses this calibre of wine in cooking? Sacrilege I'm telling you."

Darth Ramsey would be most displeased.

He would have brought some for the chef but he didn't really like the guy - something about his accent always annoyed Evandrus if he was honest. Savouring the wine's lingering taste, he glanced at Spencer,

"Did you join in the attack or come in afterwards?" he asked, curious, "I didn't really check the other missions I'm afraid. Focused on taking the centre."

Vaet would approach the two Sith quietly, resting one arm on his gun, the weapon held taught in a slanting position by the strap that went over his shoulder. The other would reach up and around his helmet, taking the iconic t-visor off, revealing a face that seemed to hold the composure and calm of the grave. Sweat ran along his brow, and he had ash in streaks here and there where a blast had removed the helm before, during the chaos of their battle. Blood ran in trickles from wounds in other areas where the helmet had been shaken with the head still in it, metal colliding with thin flesh.

The helmet now tucked in the crook of his elbow, Vaet would stop at the top of the steps next to the two without a word. He looked out over the land below them, and his eyes at that moment seemed fixed on something beyond this world. It was a moment of somewhat awkward silence before he would turn his head to look at the senior Sith.

" Well...that was easy. My wages will suffer no reductions based on this, right? We'd come to the agreement beforehand, and I would hate to lose credits simply because you overestimated these monks of yours."

He held a straight face for about a moment, and then smiled. The expression never reached his eyes, so whether it was a joke was still up to debate.

" I jest. Maybe. Leastwise, for me it was profitable without being fairly difficult. Did you two have much the same experience? And weren't there supposed to be many more of you magic bastards here on the enemy side?"

Spencer would gladly take Evandrus up on his offer for the bottle, and would start taking a swig as he is speaking, and then smiling as he finished going on about the beverage they were using for cooking. After tasting it, it's not the best but at lesat he didn't pass out like he did with that weird drink at the Lothal penthouse party. Now, for the question directed, at him, he would still keep his relaxed smile on him. "I joined, I was sent to make sure the Caves of Light and Shadow are clear so we can make use of them." Spencer didn't know Evandrus was participating on this planet either. If he had know, maybe he would have jumped at the chance to be along side with him, but obviously he wouldn't be where he is if he couldn't handle himself. Well, if there were no Jedi here, then of course.

Then another person comes into view, wearing Mandalorian Armor. Spencer's smile dropped to a frown as he started speaking. At first glance Spencer assumed that the Mandalorian were actually part of the Sith military proper, but instead it looks like he's a hired gun. Did they really need them even if there were actually Jedi present? Well, he isn't the one signing the checks so what does he care? Spencer was hoping for some time with his best friend, but oh well. The ex-Jedi Shadow would look towards the Mandalorian as he finished speaking, and then he would look at Evandrus without saying anything. Seeing if he would take disrespect about being referred to a 'magic bastard' before humoring the guy. The guy beneath the armor is usually pretty easy going, but may have to uphold his reputation as a Sith Lord.

Seemed that Spencer had joined in the assault as well - good. The man was an impressive Force user and it made sense for the Empire to actually using him as best as they could. After all, he was a strong asset to the Empire and someone Evandrus would trust with some of the hardest missions that he had to give out. He nodded in acceptance,

"Glad that you took part." he admitted with a hum, "Though I admit that the lack of opposition faced by the rest of the forces was... somewhat troubling to begin with. Made me worry that the Jedi had actually planned a trap using the Temple as bait or something."

It's what he would have done... though he supposed that was kind of the difference between the Jedi and the Sith then huh? Whatever - it was just another reason why the Sith were winning the war. The Jedi, in the end, had limits and lines that they would never cross.

The Sith realised that any line can be crossed if the cause it just.

At the approach of the mercenary, Evandrus raised an eyebrow. The man was remarkably candid for someone who was addressing someone as infamous as him. He wasn't overstating it to say that everyone in the Galaxy with a lick of common sense of a perception of the current times knew who he was. They knew of him. He looked at the mercenary for a long moment, smirk growing,

"You've got balls to insult two 'magic bastards' to their faces - much less ourselves. If I were a more unforgiving man, a man with a worse sense of humour perhaps, I would even say that you deserved to have said balls removed for your disrespect." he commented idly before chuckling slightly, "But luckily for you - I have a sense of humour and I'm enjoying the evening. Besides - you're saying what I was thinking I suppose."

He scowled a little bit,

"It seems that the Jedi have lost their spines since we departed, Spencer." he joked before asking them both, "But tell me, in your own opinions... who does have the spine, the stomach - the balls - to stand to the Sith Empire these days? Genuinely curious."

It was interesting to get multiple opinions... but if the mercenary insulted him again he was going to break his limbs. Slowly. First time he could forgive since it wasn't directly aimed at him. There could be a second - but there would never be a third after the response to the second.

The mercenary did not hesitate.

" Me, given that my contract with you was up and that their pay was high enough. To be fair, though: they'd have to pay me at least six times what you offer."

A bold man. Honesty is a good trait for some, but in this situation, it proved the mercenary either brash, foolish, uncaring, or any combination of the three. The mercenary regarded the two with respect given their reputations and ranks, but it seemed their respective capabilities and temperaments gave no sense of fear to the man. Nor was the beat of his heart unsteady, other than the obvious cause of just having been through a battle. His entire person seemed still, and stuck as that, as though he'd never truly known fear before.

Ugh, this guy was annoying, and this guy didn't seem to get the hint. Even though he's entitled his pay or whatever, he shouldn't be disrespecting a Sith Lord. Actually, he figures he would help the guy out before he says something that will just get him killed. While the guy hasn't finished talking yet, with a casual backhand motion in the air with his left hand. With that gesture, Spencer would use the Force to make the guy fall harshly down the long stone stairs. This would be happening so fast that there wouldn't be much the Mandalorian could do about it. Cregan and Spencer would watch the guy fall down step by step, with the guy's mandalorian armor banging against the once-pristine stone until he reaches the bottom. Suffice it to say, it's going to hurt when he gets to the bottom. After he would make sure if this guy is gone and out of sight, he could continue his conversation with Cregan.

Well...

Sometimes it seemed that some people who really ought to have known better? Just plain didn't know any better. Sure, it made sense that a mercenary would be for hire by anyone but you didn't just SAY that to your current employer surely? Literally coming right out and admitting that you could be bought after you'd been paid for was like admitting that you were a traitor waiting to happen in his mind.

"Or we could just terminate your contract, remove your conflict of interest, you can try..." he smiled a little bit as Spencer used the Force to throw the mercenary down the stairs, "And you can die trying."

He sighed a little bit as he turned to Spencer,

"If he makes a move to come back up the stairs?"

He smiled a little bit,

"Be a dear and break his knees?"

He'd be lying if he said that he wasn't surprised at the sudden attack. The merc could feel the tension in the air, he just gave it no mind in his response, but he'd expected maybe a saber or a physical slap. Flying through the air towards the stairs was not exactly the procedure of events that he'd imagined. But he was adaptable. Slamming the helm on during the initial flight, giving him little time to prepare for the crash. As such, he managed to dislocate his right arm at the shoulder and give his back a nice, hard smack.

Beyond that, he managed to seize a step with his left hand and stop himself from rolling down the stairs completely. With that, he stood up, still calm, and clenched his fist, turning it so his thumb pointed at his waist and then raising it up so that his closed hand would be level with his shoulder. The movement grew noticeably slower as it got higher, but he popped the limb back in without sound, and shrugged as he shouted a response back to them from his position about a third of the way down.

" You asked! I answered! And it was an honest opinion!"

There was no anger in his voice, nor care. The pain did seem to affect him, as his pitch was raised slightly, so he was mortal it seemed. But he held no grudge to either of the Sith. Without another word, he would turn and proceed to continue down in an effort to seek his pay for the battle.
