DESCRIPTION​

The SSP-M1238 rocket pistol is a special-purpose hand weapon manufactured for the Supreme Headquarters Alien Defense Establishment (SHADE), the global defense force of the planet Tolvis VII, by Fabrique Lotharingia, an arms corporation based in the Tolvite nation-state of Lotharingia. Though seldom actually used, the SSP-M1238 - informally dubbed the "Gordon Gun" after a popular character in Tolvite science fiction - was designed to give SHADE forces a fighting chance against the kinetic-resistant body armor worn by many of the aliens they fought.

The Gordon Gun is a simple device, similar in concept to other micro-missile guns available in the Galaxy at large. Firing from a a 6-round magazine, the SSP-M1938 is essentially a rifled launch tube for a small, self-contained rocket projectile. The rocket - tipped with a small shaped charge explosive - has a range of about 60 meters, and can inflict heavy damage to its target, punching through most common body armor and delivering grievous injuries.

Although SHADE is currently working on a handheld blaster weapon slated to replace the Gordon Gun in service, the SSP-M1238 has been a major boon to Tolvite forces in their war against the alien slavers plaguing their world. The weapon has been carried into space by SHADE pilots and crews, although it is rare in the wider Galaxy, and not generally available on the open market.

LEGALITY​

Illegal. Ownership of personal rocket launchers is heavily restricted on most worlds, and the SSP-M1238 falls into this category beyond the borders of Tolvis VII. Special licenses may be obtained, but this is exceedingly rare.
