Arrival Area || Starlight Beacon
Kaedan had been to the Starlight Beacon for T'vani's initiate trial and that was the first time he was there. He had some other padawans there and one stood out to him. She was the braidless noodlist girl named Natalie. He could tell how much she liked noodles by how it took over her thoughts in conversation. Just the mention of the word distracted her. Speaking about her, he was supposed to be meeting her on the space station and she was going to give him a tour. What she didn't know was he was going to be walking with some noodles as a gift to her. She didn't have to give him the tour but she didn't mind and because of that, Kaedan believed that he should repay her with the thing she was obsessed with.

Disembarking the shuttle that he had arrived on, Kaedan secured his satchel around his neck. Inside, were the noodles packaged and waiting. Truthfully, he didn't understand what the hype was about. Maybe that was because he never tasted the food before. He joined the order at the age of six and his meals weren't spectacular during his days in the temple on Takodana. That said, he didn't hate the food that he was served. Even so, he enjoyed all the new tastes and experiences he got while traveling with his master. Many planets had different kinds of foods, even some that he would never try just by looking at it.

He looked around for the older padawan, hoping she didn't forget she was meeting him in the arrival bay. As he looked around, he took a few steps.

"I swear I had it right here?" Natalie scrolled through the message history on her EZPhone. She could have sworn she was supposed to meet Kaedan as the cafeteria, as odd as that was. Now she was standing like an idiot in her black robes with a lightsaber clipped to her belt at the edge of terrible food-ville frantically trying to see if she had fucked up. She totally did, the real question was why did she care? Damn that stupid empathy emotion living in a place of her mind she couldn't find and kill.

Finally, she found the message. ARRIVAL BAY!? FUCK! Like a mad woman she sprinted down the halls, a string of profanities in her wake. It was a good thing she didn't give a shit about the Knights and Masters that stopped to stare at her with various emotions ranging from anger to confusion. Fuck 'em. Places to be, person to see. They'd understand if she had an inclination to actually explain it to them.

Natalie made it of course, just in time to be late. Per the usual. That's what she got for sleeping through most boring things. Seeing Kaedan, Natalie walked up as if she hadn't just run a fucking mile to find him. "What's up?" she asked.

Kaedan looked around for Natalie but she was no where to be seen. He took a couple of steps to see if she was around the corner but she wasn't there either. Had she forgotten that she was going to be giving him the tour on that day? Was to just a case of her being busy? Whatever it was, Kaedan had to find out what was delaying her. Luckily for him, he could simply send her a text with his EZPhone. Just as he was about to pull out the device out of his satchel, he heard speak. He looked up at the girl who just ran from the cafeteria to the arrival bay, taking in her appearance. She looked like she either did indeed forget that they were meeting or that she was just late and had to rush to make it. "Not much. Are you okay? Did I arrive at a bad time?"

Whatever the answer, Kaedan hoped that she wasn't putting off anything important just to give him a tour around the space station. He also hoped that the gifts he brought would be sufficient enough to satisfy her noodle cravings. He adjusted his satchel and smiled. "I am ready for the tour. Technically, the only places I have been are here and the observation area we were in to watch the trial. I guess that means that there is much to cover."

Bad time? Did they come at a bad time? It was never a bad time, really, but this was her out! She could be free of all the fault of completely forgetting she had made this promise. "Yup! Terrible time! All your fault, definitely not mine!" she blurted, still panting her lungs out. She motioned for Kaedan to follow her, only half listening to them as they explained where they had and hadn't been.

"Well, that was the arrival bay, so all these halls are all logistical offices and stuff. Probably won't need to ever be in one unless you're lost," she said, pointing to a couple of doors as they passed. "Observation hall is on the opposite end of the station. There's a whole lot of white and grey nothingness to get through before we get there." Natalie was not hiding from the fact that Starlight Beacon was one very boring place to be. It was like being trapped in a prison for Natalie, except a prison would actually have decent food.

They were coming up on the individual hangars, where Jedi that had ships could park their rich-mobiles. Of course, Mr. Jawline got his own personal hangar. "These are the individual hangars. If you got the creds to get a ship, that's where you'll be parking." Her hazel eyes flicked over to Kaedan then back to the front. "What made you want me to give you a tour, anyway?"

Due to the lateness of Natalie, Kaedan asked her if he came at a bad time and she told him that it was a terrible time and that it was his fault not hers. He chuckled at the way she said it. “If you say so." She motioned for him to follow and he did just that. He told her that he had only really been to the arrival bay and the observation area. She guided him out of the arrival bay and pointed at a couple doors they passed, telling him that these were logistical offices. He nodded and walked with her. When they got to the individual hangers, she told him that this was where it was and that if he got a ship this would be where he would park.

She looked over to him, asking him why he chose her to give him a tour. Kaedan shrugged before speaking. "Well, you're the first person to speak to me during my only visit here. I also don't many people. So that's why I asked you to give me the tour. I would like to generally see the eating area and the training area. I think those and the areas where the bedrooms are are going to be the places I would visit the most."

From what Kaedan could already see, the space station was kind of repetitive with the white and gray walls and doors. There wasn't much to see. He didn't really expect much. It wasn't as lively as the look that the temple on Takodana had. Even so, there were many padawans and Jedi on board and that alone made it seem homey.

Had she been the first to talk to them? Ah yes, immediately told them her name if she recalled correctly. She was going to have a serious talk with her inner-self in the mirror tonight about that one. Of all things, Natalie found herself wishing Theia was there to help her. She was the one that was good at talking to people; especially other Jedi. Didn't matter now though, Natalie was here without Theia, and a promise had been made. If Natalie wasn't as good as her word, what would she have been?

"Well the dorms are right up here," she said. She stopped in front of a large hallway that, if one were looking at a map of Starlight, lead deeper into the station. "Dorms form an inner ring, so you can get just about anywhere from them. Somewhere along the ring is the dorm assignment office. There's signs to help you find it when you get there."

Natalie started moving along the outer hall they were originally on again. The mind numbing white and greys of the halls almost making her fall asleep while walking. She wasn't even aware she could do that until one night she actually did and walked herself right into a wall. She'd have to make sure she didn't do that this time.

Kaedan stuck close to Natalie as she started to show him the area. She had asked him why he chose to her to guide him around and he explained that it was because she was the first person to speak with him when he arrived. She seemed to have accepted his answer and they continued walking through the eventless boring repetitive halls of the space station.

She showed him where the dorms were and told him that there was a dorm assignment office along the inner ring of the dorm. He nodded. "Okay. Will keep that in mind." He smiled softly as they started moving along the outer halls. "So, what's up with your obsession with noodles? I saw how you reacted when you noticed that Jedi having noodles during T'vani's trial. I, myself, never did have the opportunity to try the food."

He kept walking with her until they ended up at the cafeteria. Realizing that it was the cafeteria, he believed it was the perfect time to give her the gift of the noodles. "Oooh, the cafeteria. Let's stop for a moment." He walked over to one of the seats and sat down, taking his satchel off. "I actually got you a thank you gift for taking time out of your day to show me around." He opened the satchel and took out the packages of noodles. "Here, these are for you, Natalie."

Obsession? Natalie wasn’t obsessed with anything! Except staring at Mr. Ja- We’ve been over this before Natalie, wrong time. She did really like ramen though. It was cheap and effective. One could have twenty different ingredients and combine them all into ramen to make the most delicious meal ever created. Of course, one would need the pockets or the kitchen to house those twenty ingredients, and the ramen itself, of which, Natalie had none in her Jedi robes. The fashion industry already hated Natalie having pockets, the Jedi fashion industry was not only tacky but had the same no-pockets-for-you mentality.

You’ve never had ramen? That’s a shame,” Natalie said. As Kaedan presented the packets of ramen, Natalie took them. Her hazel eyes were fixed on the packages, waiting to be ripped open and eaten. “Oh. Thanks. You know I don’t have pockets right?” Her gaze turned up to Kaedan, cocking an eyebrow. She’d have to hold onto the packages. Wouldn’t be the weirdest thing she walked down the halls of Starlight with, that was for sure. Though, maybe there was an opportunity here?

Tell you what, the rest of Starlight is boring and pretty much the same,” she said, waving her free hand to show that it was just a big circle of white and grey. “Why don’t we heat a couple of these up, and call it a day. You get to try ramen for the first time, and I get to have decent tasting food for the first time in a week. Sound good?

"Well... I spent most of my life in the Jedi Temple back on Takodana. Noodles aren't exactly something they have to offer." He let off a light chuckle. After presenting the packets of ramen, Natalie took them and told him that she didn't have pockets. "I'll keep that I'm mind."

As they stopped the tour, Natalie finished by saying that the Starlight Beacon was boring and most of everything was the same. He could live with that. Everything he came across so far was similar to the last with little to no variation. It would probably make him go insane if he had to live on the Starlight Beacon now after seeing so much nature back home and even on Takodana. "Alright, sounds good. Thanks for the tour."

Natalie suggested heating up a couple of the ramen and call it a day which he could get behind. It would be a good deal for the both of them with him finally getting to try ramen and she got to enjoy a food she likes. "Sounds good to me."

The noodles got heated up and they sat down with Kaedan taking a deep breath before opening the packet before him. He used the chopsticks to take his first bite and his eyes shot open with surprise. He knew it tasted good but he wasn't expecting this. He smiled as he brought more of the noodles to his mouth. "What an interesting taste. It's good, really good."
