The Force Awakens?

I... have a vague notion here. Not sure if I like it.

I think it lends some credence to the recent report that Luke is super powerful and has been hiding away, because he's afraid to hurt people. So he comes back, and his power fully awakens.

I'm also hearing that this will be the standard marketing for the rest of the sequel trilogy. Namely, that the episode numbers will be in the opening scroll but, like the original trilogy, won't be part of the marketing of the films.

The thought literally just occurred me when I thought over the title again, and of freakin' course Bac gets to it first.

But yeah, 'The force awakens in] X' makes more sense from a context matter. It could also mean other characters - hero or villain - awakening their potential, after a previous movie of... well, being relatively 'normal'. Similar arc to what Luke went through and all.

Removing the episode numbers from the marketing probably is to enforce that this is basically a new saga/beginning for the franchise without restarting from #1.

It's not terrible, but it's not great either.

I don't like it, but I'll likely get used to it.

I hate the idea of the force being a personified entity, something that can 'awaken'. It always seemed more like an essential element of the galaxy, something people tapped into, not something with a will, I've always hated those interpretations of it.

I hope that's not where they're going with this.

I think it's two fold:

1. The idea of Luke being really powerful, per the other discussion thread.

2. The new generation of heroes learning to use the Force.

It's a more Star Warsian way of saying something like "A New Beginning."

The movie is awakening all of the people that were put to sleep by the prequels.

The Force actually fell asleep halfway through Episode I. It's gonna be pissssed when it finds out what everyone's done while it was asleep.
