The club wasn't unlike those that Levi had performed in before. From his position on the stage, he was directly above the well populated dance floor, the bar combing almost the entire wall to his left while a series of booths occupied the right. The lights were dimmed, the majority that were still shining focused on him. His parent's had decided not to accompany him for this performance, deciding that they'd rather comb the city and reminisce about the old days. Which was perfectly fine for him. Sometimes, you just needed a break from your folks.

Levi was four songs deep in his ten song set for the night. The client had paid him well enough, even provided him with a short interval after the fifth song to mingle with the crowd and rest his vocal chords. The lyrics for Can't or Won't? flowed easily from his mouth into the mic, some people on the crowded dance floor singing along to the heartbreak ballad while others had paired up and rocked slowly together. The crowd skewed slightly younger than the usual clientele, the owner wanting to cash in on hiring one of the up incoming Holonet stars to perform for 'One Night Only'. As such, the bar was being patrolled rigorously and the underage were being kept at arms length from the alcohol. The band behind him prepared to finish up the song and Levi took a breath before
beginning the final chorus of the song.

"You don't want me to leave you,
I'm the only one for you,
Babe it's time for the truth,
I just gotta know."

As he drew out the word know, he took note of the fact that a girl near to the stage began to cry, completely invested in the song. Admittedly, Levi felt quite emotional himself. The song was quite close to his heart and he let the emotions he was feeling seep into his voice for the second half.

"You say you can't touch me,
You always can't see me,

They say you can't love me,
Is it Can't or Won't?"

He closed his eyes and waited a few seconds for the applause to begin, opening them back up and smiling humbly at the applause. When it died down, he nodded to the band and prepared himself for the final song of the first half of his set.

"This next song is called Hyperlane Hurricane."

OOC: Sorry y'all. This post ended up being way longer than intended.

Jacob and his date Monique, the busty Bandomeerian political aide he had met a few weeks earlier, sat in a secluded booth along the side of the club. His expression was one of dismay mixed liberally with amusement. Monique hummed along to the tune while sipping a drink complete with some sort of plant that doubled as an umbrella but was also sprouting tentacles that were writhing at the bottom of the glass.

Jacob had been given three tickets to the show from a friend at work--an entertainment reporter--who had looked more than relieved to be rid of them. Jacob should have taken the hint. The night had been terribly long. The pretty-boy singer on stage was good but kind of expected and, in Jacob's opinion, hamming it the hell up. However Monique seemed to be enjoying knocking back drink after drink and rubbing the inside of his thigh with one foot under the table--that wasn't too bad. Jacob's teenage daughter however--she had begged to come along--was on the dance floor dancing inappropriately with a guy Jacob could swear was supposed to be a bartender.

With a sigh he excused himself and went to go disentangle his daughter from the bartender. Wading through the dance floor, the guy on stage--what was his name again?--began his next song, an upbeat number that had inspired the population of the dance floor to start jumping wildly around. He swore they were all kids...or maybe he was just getting old. With an expert move, he slid an arm between his daughter and her dance partner and towed her away.

"Dad! What the hell!" Ali was not amused. She was sixteen and certain that she could handle herself. And perhaps she could...Ali was wild and out of control. Wherever there was the newest thing, the hottest club, she was there."You're such a prude!"

Jacob gave her an admonishing look. "He was like ten years older than you!"

She gave him an identical look in response. "You're such a stiff, lighten up. Besides, this party's wild. They're selling spice in the bathroom for cheap, want some?"

It had the desired effect, Jacob was so shocked that his daughter would offer him spice, let alone know what 'cheap' was, was all Ali needed to slip away. He saw her head back to Monique...probably to commiserate about what a prude he was. Or do spice. Jacob honestly didn't know anymore. He gave the singer on stage one last look, noticing for the first time that he had probably seen the whole exchange. Red around the ears, Jacob hurried off the dance floor and to the bar where he ordered an ale and three shots of Corellian whiskey.

"And then--and then the bloody idiot pissed himself, in the middle of the kriffin' DI chewing him out! Oh, that's another good one right there!"

Sylvie smiled and downed the last of her whiskey as the small crowd she'd managed to round up and rile up at the bar burst into laughter, probably extremely intoxicated considering the pile of beer bottles lined up near them. At that point, they may as well have just swept the bottles into a garbage can and recycled the glass. Probably could have made a mural or something. She pat one of the onlookers on the shoulder and then looked at the group, men and women trying not to fall out of their seats. This was where Sylvie thrived, entertainment and jokes among many other talents of charisma. As with many Zeltrons. But she wasn't going to try squeezing any more credits out of this bunch for another round of drinks. So she waved out to the crowd and winked.

"I think another round of drinks is most definitely a bad idea. So, lemme shut my yapper for a bit and you all get out there or get some rest, eh?"

She let her pheromones do the work as the group reluctantly stood before finding something more beneficial to their health to do. Now that was over, Sylvie supposed she could go grab a better drink of her own and sit tight for a bit. The music finally registered in her brain and nodded, impressed at the skills this guy had. The Zeltron weaved through the crowd and went to order a drink before finding a human loading up on alcohol. Huh. Guess somebody can't handle the singing. Albeit the lyrics were a bit cheesy and catered toward a younger audience (evident by the crowd). It wasn't the worst music she'd heard, and the voice helped significantly.

"Evenin'. Gonna be honest, that looks like enough alcohol to turn your veins solid. And I don't see no drunk girl to share it with, so--oh damn, you trying to freeze your heart or somethin'?"

A concerned look came on her face as she leaned over and grabbed her drink. She wondered why this guy was here, considering the circumstances. Maybe an unlucky father of a very eager fangirl. Probably, honestly.

Levi belted out the final lyrics to Hyperlane Hurricane before diving into a series of spins, kicks and even a well executed standing reverse sommorsault that only a trained gymnast could pull off as the band's music reached its crescendo. As the song ended, he felt his heart hammering in his chest, taking deep and controlled breaths as the majority of the people in the club broke into a fevered applause. Smiling widely, Levi bowed deeply then stood up, waiting patiently for the applause, cheers and wolf whistles to die down before speaking.

"Thanks for that amazing reception." He paused, letting some of the more enthusiastic audience members scream and cheer a few times. "I'll be taking a break for half an hour, before beginning the second half of my set." A wave of disappointment rolling through the crowd, some of the youthful people demanding an encore. Offering a quiet chuckle, Levi gently waved down their words. "Hey now, you don't want me to injure my vocal chords do you?" A less aggressive, more understanding response from the crowd followed. "I'm going to ask that you guys don't swarm me while I get a drink-" He was cut off by a series of disappointed cries and yells, which he again waved off. "But only because I'm having a free meet and greet after the second half!"

As expected, the crowd cheered and Levi offered them a smile, moving over to the side of the stage to remove his sound pack and earphones, and putting down his mic. Taking a deep breath, he stretched out, arms reaching for the ceiling. He'd been styled tonight in a fairly simple outfit. A slightly over sized white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up and only half the buttons clasped, black faux leather pants and a pair of sneakers that were apparently the latest trend in footwear. His platinum blonde hair was also colored with bright pink and blue temporary dye. When he'd looked in the mirror before the appearance, he'd almost laughed. He really did look like some kind of rock star.

He descended from the stage as a DJ began to play more normal club music and fluorescent lights began to flare in the darkened room. For the most part, he was left alone as he headed for the bar, only having to offer a few hello's and various compliments. It was a nice change. Usually people didn't actually listen and he had to have security fight them off. Reaching the bar, he leaned up against it, his drink already waiting for him as arranged and he down half of the foreign alcohol in seconds. Not the best idea for a singer, especially an active one, but it certainly did take the edge off of the slight stage fright he got every time he performed at a new location. Plus, it was something he could only do without his parents there. The Devva's were definitely more invested in Stargazers career than the boy himself.

Eyeing the others at the bar, his eyes rested on an odd pair. A female humanoid who appeared to have an intriguing skin coloration and a gruff looking male who he'd sworn had been having some sort of disagreement with a teenage girl during his set. He realized that he was staring and the pair was actually practically right next to him, looking away quickly and taking another sip from his drink. As if on cue, a trio of teenagers, one male and two female, shyly appeared in front of him. Without a second thought, Levi placed his drink on the bar and smiled at them.

"Hello there."
"H-Hi." One of the girls said. "We know you said that you didn't want people coming up but uh..."
"We have to leave now and didn't want to miss our chance to get a pic." The boy blurted out, blushing immediately afterwards. "I mean, if you can. Please?"
"Of course I can." Inside, Levi chuckled. People being nervous about talking to him was so strange, yet amusing to him. "Would you like to take a group photo, or separate ones?"

Jacob gave the wild looking young woman who had been holding court near him at the bar a sidelong glance. She was maybe twenty and she looked as though her days of partying were starting to catch up to her. There were dark circles under her eyes that no amount of makeup could hide, or maybe it was just the lighting. Either way, she gave Jacob the distinct impression of a raccoon vying for scraps.

He snorted somewhat unkindly into his ale when the girl asked if he was trying to freeze his heart. What a ridiculous question! Couldn't a guy just get drunk to try and forget that his daughter had just asked him if he wanted spice? He should have fought harder for custody in the divorce. Ali was taking after her mother just fine, though she was much more clever and would hopefully one day soon, fix herself up. If she didn't, well, that was just one more conversation that Jacob knew would not go well.

"Sweetheart," he said flatly, "I don't know what your game is, but you'd have better luck getting drinks if you got a job to pay for them." He wondered vaguely if she had recognized him and was trying to get some media attention. It had happened before. He downed the rest of his ale and nodded to the bartender for another. As he was waiting he turned his attention back to the girl. "I don't mean to be hurtful, it just wouldn't do to have Monique get suspicious. Goodbye."

The bartender returned with his fresh ale, which Jacob accepted with thanks and extra coin. As he turned to walk back to Monique and his daughter he caught sight of the singer who was taking a break near him at the bar. The young man was looking directly at him.

Crap.

That's just what Jacob needed. The singer, Levi his daughter had said, would clearly know Jacob's face. The last thing he wanted was for some young attention whore to try to charm him into getting an interview. The network would love it. "Jacob Tagger sits down with Levi Stargazer for an honest conversation" the thought was to distressing to contemplate just then. He turned quickly, hoping that maybe he had read too much into it and moved swiftly back to his table.

"Ali," he said sternly, "if I find out that you've been doing spice, I'm going to send you to boarding school on Agrammar."

Ali looked suitably distressed and Monique laughed lightly and resumed stroking his leg with her foot under the table. She leaned over the table, giving Ali an exasperated look and said to Jacob: "Don't be such a hardass, she's doing just fine. No spice, we promise! Just enjoy the show, this Levi guy is actually pretty good!"

"That's exactly what I'm afraid of," Jacob groaned. Ali gave him a well-worn expression of knowing empathy and went back to her conversation with Monique.

Ouch. Like, wow.

Sylvie had expected a grumpy keetar freg, but not a total asshole. She nodded with a slight tilt of her head as the man fled the bar and then sighed, ordering another drink. She completely could have taken advantage of this 'Monique' and gotten some much needed revenge, but sometimes being a good person was better and more rewarding. She put on a smile that looked more like a grimace and tried to cheer up, taking in the insane crowd of wild teenagers while she took her drink in one hand. Some commotion was going on off to her right, including what appeared to be the famed singer himself, but she decided to butt out for a few minutes.

"Guess he didn't like the music..."

There were a trio of teens inching their way toward the pop star (or whatever he may have been, evidently he was popular among a younger audience). From what she heard over the din of the crowd, they wanted a picture. The poor boy looked like he was about to shake out of his skeleton, he was so nervous. She shook her head with a slight smile and walked over, leaning a little and raising an eyebrow, practiced concern on her face.

"You guys need a hand taking a picture with our humble hero here? I'd be glad to help out."

Levi's gaze went to the female as she spoke up, an eyebrow raising. What had happened between her and that man? He briefly looked over the crowd, wondering where the man had gone and why he'd looked so familiar. Letting his eyes rest on the female again after a few seconds he smiled and nodded slowly. His fans had remained silent, thrown off by the newcomer.

"That would be great. Then we can all get one picture together." Truth be told, he'd only offered the fans separate pictures in order to be polite. The singer had been hoping that they would have chosen the group photo in the first place, so this worked out in his favor. "Is that alright with you guys?"
"Y-yes!" The three fans stated in unison, drawing a low chuckle from Levi.

One of the fans handed their camera over to the female, before they gathered around Levi. Standing in the center of the fans, Levi made sure to put on a very happy expression, despite the fact that he'd wanted to have some relatively quiet moments to himself during the break. Raising one hand to form a peace sigh, he waited patiently for the female to snap as many pictures as she wanted before the fans took the camera back, thanked him and hurried off. Taking his drink from the bar, he finished it quickly before offering the female an appreciative smile.

"Thanks for that. Taking a bunch of selfies with them would have taken much longer." Ordering another drink, he decided to use the manners that his parents had instilled in him over eighteen years of life in the Galaxy. Holding out his hand, he spoke again. "My name is Levi."

Sylvie nodded and smiled to the three kids, trying to give them some reassurance as she took their camera and backed away, swinging some hair out of her face while the bunch gathered round. Her finger hovered over the panel and she managed to take three pictures, all with the wild lighting somehow not making the scene look awful. The music had avoided giving her a headache so far, too. She smiled and returned the camera, patting the boy on the shoulder as a sign of encouragement while the trio escaped to the night. Hopefully they'd be alright.

The star studded singer smiled her direction as she settled down back at the bar counter, sliding her drink over toward her new place on the line of stools and drunk dads while the singer introduced himself with a greeting of thanks. Sylvie took his hand and shook it, glancing back out to the crowd while she released her grasp and readjusted her stance leaning on the counter. Levi, eh? I would have thought something far more glamorous was afoot.

"Sylvie. No, not selfie in a dumb accent, my name's Sylvie. Uh, do you get that type of trio often? You're a good singer, by the way."

Her head nodded back to the exiting kids who were picking their way along the side of the crowd, even as she caught sight of the same man that had told her to piss off only a few moments earlier. Her mood turned sour, if only for a brief second.

"Sylvie." Levi repeated her name with a polite smile before nodding. "I usually have people swarming me. I'm just thankful that my client tonight made sure to include a meet and greet at the end of the show."

He caught Sylvie's subtle change in expression and followed her line of sight to the male she'd been speaking to at the bar. Why did this man look so familiar? Was he also a star on the Holonet perhaps? Levi bit his lip in thought. He'd DEFINITELY seen this person somewhere, but where? Tearing his gaze away from the man, he turned to the bartender who was holding out his next drink. Thanking the bartender, he took a sip before striking up conversation once more.

"I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that you're not a fan of mine?" It was less of a guess. He could tell when people knew who he was, when people didn't and when people were obsessed with him. Sylvie was being far too conversational. "That sounds a little self indulgent now that I've heard myself say it. Just, usually I'm only approached by my fans or my agent or my parents."

Sylvie smirked and looked out toward the crowd, staring once more at the man that seemed so familiar which had been relatively standoffish. Was that how news anchors were when they weren't on the job? Singers certainly were not caught up in the same issues, evident by this guy, Levi. Or maybe he was a special case of Too Much Nice, Too Little Room. She could side with the comment on being swarmed--center of a party tended to be a bit bland and annoying at times, especially if one wasn't in the partying mood.

"Oh, trust me, love, I know the feeling all too well. My crowd's gone for the night. Got pretty drunk, I'm afraid. Oops?"

Sylvie shrugged in a 'whatcha gonna do' kind of way and quietly laughed while Levi made a pretty correct observation. She hadn't really heard of Levi until recently, and Imperial barracks/quarters didn't exactly let her blast mushy pop music all the time. Maybe she could pheromone her way out of getting in trouble or something, then. Worth a shot.

"Pfft. Don't try to sound selfish. Not all of us don't have friends. I aim to change that. If you remember hanging out with me, that is."

It was obvious she was joking by the playful smile. That's what she did best. Sylvie looked back at the news anchor--yes, that's what he was--and his name snapped into her memory. Jacob Tagger. She'd seen plenty of him on the Net, and plenty more jokes about him. Damn, that chick sitting next to him was really trying. And with his daughter right there, too? Almost as bad as Zeltros. Sylvie quietly snickered at her own joke before returning attention to Levi.

Levi raised an eyebrow, eyeing his drink after Sylvies comment. Surely she didn't think he'd had enough to forget- oh. He offered a smile of his own as he caught on, following her gaze to the male once more. What was going on there? Sylvie seemed to be completely taken by this person, or at least, she felt the need to consistently look over and judge him because... why not? He looked at the man, narrowing his eyes as he racked his brain. He KNEW that face, but placing it was impossible for him. Deciding it was best to just ask, he turned back to Sylvie.

"Who is that?" Wow, very subtle. "Sorry, I just mean that you were talking to him before and now you keep looking over there. Your boyfriend?" He considered for a moment, before shaking his head. "Actually no, the way that woman is all over him, I feel like you'd be on her if you guys were together." Taking another sip of his drink, he looked up as the DJ announced that there were fifteen minutes to go before the second half of his set. Several people looked in his direction and cheered, and Levi smiled politely and raised his drink before returning his full attention to Sylvie. "I don't mean to pry. I just feel like I know him from somewhere, and it's really annoying me that I can't seem to place his face to a name."

Sylvie chuckled as if he had just made a really ridiculous joke and dismissively waved in the direction of the reporter. She took a sip of her drink, laughing slightly again and taking her time to make a reply. Kind of ironic that the woman who never watches news channels knew who a famous reporter was, while the kid that was all over the news had never met him. Funny how times worked, eh? Good thing she wasn't interested in him; she might have been a lot more annoying.

"You ain't seen him before? That's Jacob Tagger, the news guy. As for your comment on Zeltron relationships, you've got a lot to learn about my species, friend. Wild things, most of the time."

Evidently it was almost time for Levi to get back onstage, sooner or later. Maybe have time for a speed interview or something.

Jacob had had enough of the little starlit and his trashy friend staring at him and whispering. Excusing himself once again to Monique, he got up from the table and begain to thread his way across the club to the pair. When he reached them, he stood there for a moment a dark expression on his face. It was the same posture he used when Ali was in trouble...they were barely more than kids, Sylvie and Levi. They were in trouble and they'd know it.

"Something for you?" He asked ominously, staring at them down his nose. "It's rude to stare at people," he continued. He fixed Levi with a most unimpressed glare. "You want an interview or something?" He chuckled. "Not my style...I have an inveriew tomorrow with the new Empress...what makes you think you'd even come close to having my name by yours? Call your publicist...maybe the network can set something up with one of the junior entertainment reporters."

He didn't have anything to say to Sylvie so he fixed his gaze on her and waited.

Levi blinked once. Then twice. He took a slow sip of his drink and the blinked one more time just to make sure that he wasn't dreaming. Had this reporter just stormed across the dancefloor at one of his shows to berate him? He could almost feel the annoyance in this guy's voice, Jacob Tagger right? Not only that, but the guy was making a lot of assumptions and really just throwing his weight around. Recovering from his initial shock, Levi fixed him with narrow eyes and a soft frown.

"Excuse me?" He pushed off from the bar, standing to his full height and tilting his head to the side to inspect the male. "Not that it's any of your business, but I was just trying to place your face as I've seen it before. Obviously since I couldn't think of your name, you're obviously not nearly as important as you'd have us believe." He shook his head. "The fact that you have to inflate your image by hyping yourself up really says a lot about you, Mr Tagger." Now, a chuckle of his own. "Since we're throwing our reputations around, allow me to introduce myself." He gestured around the bar. "These are a fraction of my fans. I've got one of the highest selling debut albums in the last millennia. I've been more relevant in the last two years than you will ever be, no matter how many Empresses you interview. Nobody remembers the interviewer for long" Unable to stop himself now that he'd started, Levi smirked thinly. "Actually, now that I think about it, maybe I will have my guys arrange an interview with you. After all, best for me to capitalize on the five minutes of interest you'll gain tomorrow, right?"

Sylvie turned her head to face Jacob as he came over with a relatively unamused look on his face. Her smile slowly faded and then returned, dynamically changing while Tagger continued his angry rant. She looked down at her drink and quietly chuckled on the side, pulling a hand to cup the glass while she tried to hide the large smile that had just come onto her face. It was hard to take this guy seriously, considering he had just walked up from his table where he should have been perfectly happy.

Were people not allowed to stare? He was famous, after all. Levi seemed to take the initiative first, standing up as though this was a lot more serious than it really was. The whole situation, and the threat was ridiculously comical, and her quiet chuckle devolved into a loud giggle as she put a hand over her face to keep from being too embarrassing. A few moments later, she returned her gaze to lock eyes with the journalist, trying hard to keep the corners of her mouth from turning up.

"Oh, Force's sake...I'd bet you'd get more ratings collectively if I just broadcast this fight over the Holonet than in your entire careers. This is comedy gold."

She looked back at the table housing Jacob's girlfriend/wife/whatever and then let her smile return.

"Aww, you came back for me? How sweet. I didn't know you felt that way! Shame your girlfriend's over there all alone."

Sylvie stuck out her tongue, aiming the jab more at the woman sitting at Tagger's table. It was always fun to start some stuff wherever possible. Especially if there were two 'celebrities' here, threatening each other with interviews.

"She'll be fine," Jacob said tersely to Sylvie. He had no time for her and she seemed like the type to hang around like a bad smell.

Jacob turned his attention to Levi, wondering what in the world to do about the annoying starlit. He didn't want to be stuck doing some fluff interview with a popstar, egotistical though it may be he felt it beneath him. As the man who was currently building a report to take down one of the most powerful Sith on Kuat his interested and talents lay elsewhere. He grinned suddenly, an idea coming to him. He wasn't the only famous journalist to have been making the rounds in the news lately.

"Close," he said to Levi, "But you got the wrong guy. Tagger is that jackass from HNN. My name's Rowan Harlow, if you have your publicist call Trump Media and ask to set up an interview, I'm sure they'd be thrilled. Between you and me, Tagger's made us look bad recently and I'll take the hit in reputation to interview you. The network could use the ratings."

He sighed and looked genuinely apologetic. "It's been a rough night. I'm sorry that I've been so rude." He shook Levi's hand and gave Sylvie a cheeky parting wink, just because and started to walk away again. He turned back and said "Remember, it's Rowan Harlow! Don't confuse me with that slug Tagger again!!"

Levi watched the man, the man who claimed to be Rowan Harlow, as he retreated from them and narrowed his eyes slightly. How could Sylvie have gotten this mans identity so wrong? She'd seemed rather certain about it and didn't seem like the type of person who'd forget a face. Taking a sip from his drink, he shook his head. Not that it mattered. He'd just have his people set up an interview with both Rowan Harlow and Jacob Tagger. One of them would be that kriffer and it would be quite nice to do something a little petty, if only to get back at the guy for making him feel like crap on a performance night.

"I uh... sorry about that Sylvie." He smiled sheepishly at the female, finishing is second drink and placing the glass down on the bar like his last. "People like that really get me going. All ego, no humility at all. Like cool, you're interviewing the Empress. But how did you get to where you are in the first place?" Rolling his eyes with a slight chuckle, he glanced at the stage and caught the eye of one of the stage attendants who waved at him. That was the signal. "It was nice to meet you Sylvie, but the stage calls. Gotta set up the mics, lights and all that. I hope you have a nice evening."

With that, he crossed over to the stage, heading behind the curtain to prepare for his next set. As he did, he picked up his datapad and sent a message to his publicist to get in touch with both Harlow and Tagger's people, saying that he really wanted to get an interview with the 'lovely' man he'd just met. As the stage hand strapped his mic pack back on, Levi peered out of the curtains to try and find the reporter with a satisfied smirk. One way or another, he was going to have an interview in the coming week.
