Hey guys, as some of you might know, I am that one afl guy who was around since the start of this timeline.
My reasons for stepping down last time was completely leadership internal, and something that I don't really feel the need to discuss, along with the ever aching loss of joy in rp that comes with rp responsibility.
However, this time around, I just feel as though OOC relations between factional members, leadership, and now newly ex-members has become so toxic for me that is has leached out the last remaining energy I had left for this position. I've tried to stay true to a more neutral role, and keep my personal opinions on matters to myself. I think I will continue to do that, as I happen to agree, and disagree, with a lot of things that people have said surrounding these current issues, within my faction and outside of it.
I am just honestly flabbergasted that our community has gotten into the petty mean-spirited pot shots, shark jumping, and bickering that I have had to deal with on previous sites. The sheer drama surrounding current issues hasn't fully struck me until the past few days, and I have no real solution to the problems a lot of members seem to be having. With the next school year fast approaching, I think now is my time to duck out of the Republic leadership, and the Republic entirely as I tie up loose ends with my senator Charon, though that last part might not happen for a couple of days.
I really wish the lot of you guys had come into these issues with clearer heads, and I don't think anyone really got out unscathed, but I really hope the Republic leadership takes this time to heal, and mend hostilities that have occurred. Cutting my dead weight out of the frame will hopefully open the position to someone far more capable with grappling this process of healing than I am.
Just remember guys, you don't have to make everything on the site an argument, or fair, or whatever else. Just remember to try and enjoy your own personal stories as you move through the site, because that is what I plan on doing with my own characters. RP is what brought us here and it should be what brings us together, not what tears us apart.
