Tomic and his allies are getting suspicious now as there seem to be a lot of dangers on these 'simple' contracts. As they are enjoying a drink in a cantina they are attacked by thugs sent by the contact. Tomic Domin + Skuld Stark + Irolia Shen

Tomic was not, by nature, a suspicious person but sometimes things just lined up that you couldn't ignore what the Galaxy was trying to tell you. Some of the Sith would say it was the Force or something but Tomic didn't know anything about that. All he knew was that sometimes when something looked like it was rotten to the core?

It was rotten.

The missions he and his allies had undertaken for the contact hadn't been overly difficult but then their enemies had multiplied and become rather... well they'd become rather dangerous all of a sudden when they likely shouldn't have been that much of a bother.

He was pretty sure he was being paranoid however so he had called Skuld and Irolia to meet him in a local bar on Coruscant to discuss it. It wasn't paranoia if two other people agreed with you right? Either way, this bar was one of those with weapons lockers.

So rather than being able to bring in his rifles, he had had to lock them both up and so only had his blaster pistol and his vibrosword.

And he was only allowed to keep that because there were local laws about taking the 'blade' of an Imperial off of them. Sure, the law was made with lightsabers in mind but it was vague enough that his counted too.

Loophole abuse was good when it worked in his favour.

He stood at the bar, ordering himself a whiskey as he waited for his allies to arrive.

Irolia had sighed when she saw where Tomic wanted to meet him. A bar? She hated alcohol, it was the worse and tasted awful. Guess that was why some called it grown-up poison. Being Sith had its positive sides, even as an acolyte. One of them was that a Sith most likely outranks everyone else in its proper order. Of course, there were times where the Empire military outranked a Sith, but only lower-ranking Sith. She entered the bar, looking around the place. At least it looks just a tad better than many of the bars at Nar Shaddaa.

"So here I am Tomic" the blue Sith said, walking behind him, to sit on his right side. "You didn't sound very sane when you called. Should I be worry?" Asked Irolia jokingly with a small smirk and raised an eyebrow. She didn't order any drinks with alcohol, druk, she really hated it. She got some water, or she asked for water, which got her a look. The bartender quickly dropped the look, when Irolia gave him a 'you got a problem?' look. When Irolia got a better look at Tomic, he actually did seem on edge. Like if something was to jump out any minute and bite him. The other one, Skuld Stark, Irolia think his name was, hasn't turned up yet.

The bar itself had a decent number of customers, all doing their own things. There was a couple of pilots in the corner, having a great time. Might be shore-leave or something, 'cause they were having a mighty great time.

Shame they had a thing against rifles.

She truly didn't care one way or the other; she was going to get dirty looks anyways, and it hardly bothered her on the regular. She strode in through the crowd, her face aligned in its' usual scowl when in crowds and company; she wasn't going to let too much drink into her head this time around, especially with the Empire agents around. She needed a mostly-clear head... and a clear path. One well-aimed glare seemed to scatter enough slightly drunken patrons wise enough to understand the message.

She loomed over most people with ease; dressed in her armor, which could raise brows enough in civil space, but open hostile glares from some patrons of unsavory type.

She itched for a good fight, and her companions seemed intent to attract it. And no one seemed keen to take Bíta off her hands either. Might have something to do with the black-haired woman's non-helmeted profile glaring ice at anyone that dared cross her path.

She saw the familiar shape of Tomic... and a shapely female slide beside him, noted with a smirk. She seemed cute.

Her smirk faded. There was no glory in what they did... but no one asked a Deucalian their opinion. A job was a job, after all. She slid on Tomic's other side, dislodging a shocked Rodian, who was about to give her a sharp, drunken lecture... until she got into his face.

It paled several shades before he backpedaled, and she claimed his seat, brushing away his drink. She gave a nod to her companions, tilting a brow. When asked, she gave the bartender a side eye of icy blue. "Whisky. One shot," then crossed her arms, deceptively at ease, but her expression unwavering, those icy blue eyes intense.

"So. Vhat is wrong, and vhat did I miss?" Her voice was a medium pitch, lower than average for a woman, and heavily accented Basic.

Not anybody could call a Deucalian out from the depths of Mustafar; especially when she'd finally had a quiet night...

Well two of his allies had arrived and that was good enough to get started with in his opinion. Their other ally was away from the planet for now so he was safe enough whereas Skuld, Irolia and Tomic were in some clear and present danger if his paranoia was actually correct for once. He accepted the whiskey from the bartender and nodded to Irolia before doing the same for Skuld when she arrived.

"I hope I'm just being paranoid." he admitted to Irolia, "But we were contracted for supposedly simple jobs... and was I the only one who noticed that everyone were fought seemed to be better armed, better trained and in larger numbers than we were told to expect after the initial assassination?"

He sipped at his whiskey and favoured Irolia with a small smile.

"I might be mad - or the contact I got the contract through is trying to clean house."

Of course that was when things seemed to snap into clearer focus.

"You're not crazy - is time to clean up."

The bartender declared as he and his assistant reached underneath the bar to pull out scatterguns. Unfortunately for them, Tomic was paranoid and still had his blaster closer to hand than they had their scatterguns. He fired twice, nailing both of the would-be assassins directly in the face before ducking behind the bar to take cover as the entire bar seemed to suddenly explode into chaos.

The sudden blaster fire and chaos erupting around Irolia, caught her the middle of drinking. Coughing harshly from getting some of the water down in her lungs, Irolia's arm got grazed by a blaster shot from the entries. The blue Sith hissed as she fell on to the floor. Irolia cursed furiously in mando'a, thanks to her Mandalorian mentor as a slave. She felt her wound with her free hand and hissed again when touching the area on the upper arm. It had only been a minor graze by the two thugs entering the bar guns blazing. The arm wasn't ruined, by doing any major straining on it. Although the reinforcement's idea for a surprise attack, they did catch their targets by surprise, but with minimal success. The rest of the blaster flew right past Tomic and Skuld. The reinforcement turned tables on their side for cover.

Irolia quickly moved behind her own cover, drawing one of her own blasters as a shoot out began in the bar. Blaster fire flew left and right, leaving black marks all over the bar's interior. "Well, one thing for sure, you're not going crazy Tomic!" Said Irolia towards Tomic smiling exciting over the action. Again, might be her Mandalorian upbringing and Sith teaching, but Irolia felt amazing, even though she got hit by one of those damn thugs.

Didn't they always say never to bring a blaster to a vibroknife fight?

Clearly they had never met Skuld Stark.

She had already come prepared; rolling out of the way was not easy in such built armor, but when you trained, ate, slept and worked in such fine protection, any movement that might have been detrimental to such a sapling was nothing for a seasoned fighter. Such egoist thoughts were what kept her alive every time; she growled low and fast under her breath, buckler springing to life and her trusted ax humming to a glow blue life the moment she rolled back upright to a crouched fighting stance.

Straight to face the Rodian from before, and a companion.

Af guðum...

She barely had time to react; one pulled out a vibroknife, but the other pulled out his blaster. The Rodian moved as if to shoot at the same time that her ax whistled into the meat of his neck, shield lowered to move forwards--

But the companion was faster.

His knife attempted to slash downwards at her own throat just as she moved. But by some fortune, it missed, instead embedding in her shoulder. But the strength he had put into such an action caused her to stumble off-balance, and hiss in irritation as it sunk into her armor, biting into her skin.

It seemed that Skuld was busy over to the left and Irolia was tending to a small wound she had received from their attackers. Neither of them seemed to be in bad spirits considering someone just attempted to murder them all. He had some rather strange accomplices if their reaction to being in the thick of a murderous fight was to be happy. Skuld seemed to be growling a lot (that was how her people expressed happiness right?) and Irolia seemed to be loving the danger.

Tomic would admit that his first reaction to hearing her speaking like a Mandalorian was to consider shooting her in the throat from point blank range before she could realise what he was doing.

He didn't.

"I'm making a break for it - going to flank them." he told Irolia, "Give me some cover if you can!"

Immediately he raced out from behind the bar to the right, zig zagging slightly as he ran. Blaster bolts arced through the air towards him but ended up either falling short or whizzing past him to burn holes into the walls. Seeing a durasteel table overturned, Tomic made a break for it, sprinting before throwing himself prone to land behind the cover. Taking a second to catch his breath, he popped up and fired four times.

One of the attackers took two of the shots to the chest, falling to the ground dead, before he could hope to find cover that protected him from Tomic and Irolia's firing positions. The second attacker managed to escape one shot but took a graze to the shoulder from the second shot. Tomic ducked back down behind his own cover when the attacker fired in his direction.

Irolia nodded and rose from her own cover as Tomic raced from his. It seems like Skuld got injured in her attack and stumbled. Irolia advanced as she with her blaster repeatedly shot at the remaining thugs, making them jump for cover. Even as Tomic got behind cover and killed one of the three thugs, Irolia didn't stop firing. Emptying the entire power pack from her blaster. The sound of her blaster shooting the empty power pack out of the gun, made the thugs dare to rise from cover. Dropping behind a new cover, much closer to the last two thugs, blaster fire started got focused on where Irolia hid.

"They're all yours Tomic," said the blue alien, as if giving him a gift of great value. While Irolia knelt behind cover, she started to reload her blaster with another power pack. She even started to hum a little song to herself. Blaster fire made quite the noise, hitting the table she hid behind. She wasn't sure what exactly the two thugs tried to do, but the tables were clearly too thick to shoot through. Holstering her newly loaded blaster and removing her hilt from its spot at the belt. "Either one of you take them out or I will" called the blue-skinned to her two allies and Ignited her red sabre, lighting up the shadowed areas around her, giving it a red glow.

She rose from her hiding spot and began to deflect and redirect every shot, fired at her. If she hadn't gotten the thugs attention, she got it now. The one with the blaster rifle cursed in Huttese as he tried to shoot Irolia. The second thug, the one that wounded Skuld, grabbed a grenade, getting ready to throw the armed grenade in the direction of Tomic as a counter for hitting him in the shoulder.

In the midst of all the blaster fire, Skuld Stark could not cover herself entirely with the bulwark shield.

One of the thugs firing had spotted the Deucalian stumble away as his companion was shot down by Tomic, and decided now was as good an opportunity as ever. Just as her arm shifted to protect her front as she fell, he aimed...

And shot right at her arm, beneath the armor that protected the shoulder.

It was a very lucky shot, getting that small space between her shoulder pad and the plating over her upper arm. Fire bloomed on her arm as she let out a pained keening, slumping down to the ground. The arm draped and felt like red-hot knifes slammed into the joint closest, useless as she slumped down to the ground to the cover that was an overturned table.

She couldn't feel her right hand fingers now. Just the seething pain at her now-useless arm, and the burns that bubbled up where she had been hit. She panted, leaning her head back against the thick plating as her fingers fumbled to deactivate the buckler with her other hand, having to power off her ax just long enough to do so.

After this, she was going home. Kark this.

That, or get a very fine bonus.

She felt it; her senses narrowing to a fine keen. The pain. The fury. That now bone-deep desire to see their opponents dead and their blood slaked on her ax was now not just something to happen. It was a need...

But for now, she could focus on nothing else but the sudden fear she might have lost her arm.

...They were going to get it the next time she could focus past this burning.

It seemed that there were two of them left and it seemed that one of them had managed to get a damned good shot in on Skuld, leaving their front-line fighter down for the count. They were going to need to get her the hell away from here at this rate but to do that they were going to need to get lucky.

Or, he realized as one of the thugs drew a grenade, the enemy would give them the chance that they needed.

Leveling his blaster, Tomic took a deep breath, aimed and fired twice with his blaster pistol. Both blasts hit the man with the now live grenade in the face, blasting his skull to pieces. And sending the armed grenade scattering across the floor, where it rolled close enough to the unprepared second thug to catch him in the explosion and shrapnel. They suddenly only had one thug left alive and he was screaming in pain on the ground with metal having made mince meat out of one of his arms.

He wasn't going to be firing on them.

"Irolia - stabilize Skuld!" he urged her as he rushed over the the injured thug, "I'm going to get some answers."

Moving over to the downed thug, Tomic kicked his blaster away from him before stepping down hard on the man's pulped arm. The man screamed but Tomic didn't care.

"Who sent you?"

The man whimpered.

"K-k-kark you!"

Tomic narrowed his eyes.

"You either tell me now and I put you out of your misery, or I blast your legs off at the knees and let you slowly bleed to death."

A pause.

"... you weren't ever supposed to survive the jobs he sent you on..."

His contact arranged it all.

Tomic sighed and stood up straight again, firing his blaster pistol once as he stood, plastering the floor with the man's brains as he did so. He quickly checked his blaster pistol ammo count - 6 shots left in the clip. He turned back to Irolia and Skuld.

"We need to move. There will be more coming any second - forget the weapons you checked at the door. They're locked up, we'll come back for them when someone hasn't got a price on our heads." he declared as he reached Skuld and Irolia, "Back door - can you cut through it Irolia? I'll help Skuld."

He wasn't about to let his ally stay behind or hold them up so all he could do was drag her along himself.

Irolia lowered her blade, hearing the painfilled scream from the last pirate. Turning her lightsaber off, Irolia quickly went to Skuld as she reattached her hilt to her belt. Irolia stood at look down at Skuld for just a moment with her crimson red eyes, before kneeling down by her, "hey there, you're not going to quit now, are you? There will most likely be much more killing to do!" Said Irolia with a sweet smile. Irolia was no doctor and Skuld's wound looked bad, nothing-she-can-do-bad. Well, she could always cut her arm off, that would cauterization the wound instantly. It would smell horrible but could do the job.

But then again, she would never let anyone cut her arm off, it there was a chance to save it, so she wouldn't ask Skuld. With Skuld's working arm around Irolia's neck, she pulled Skuld up on her feet. The blue Sith looked in the direction Tomic mention and raised her eyebrow. That was a stupid question, there was not much lightsaber's couldn't cut through. She let Tomic hold Skuld and walked rather nonchalant, humming the same song to herself, like earlier, over to the backdoor.

Irolia grabbed the hilt from the belt clip and ignited it again. The relaxing humming sound made Irolia smile a bit to herself as she started to cut through the door's material. It didn't take very long before the metal door would be cut from its frame. Irolia caught it with the force, so it would fall in the way. She pulled it towards her while taking a step back, letting Tomic carry Skuld through first.

She gave Irolia a savage grin, arcing a brow with a rough chuckle. "Never quit, beauty. They haven't killed me yet," she grunted, then muttering more than a few colorful oaths in Deucalic that were less than complimentary to anybody that happened to be a raider or a pirate.

If she lost the arm, it wasn't the worst thing to happen. It would just mean a cybernetic limb; something livable, perhaps, but she was unwilling to let that happen just yet. She wasn't dead yet, and she wasn't entirely down. When she was pulled up, however, she grunted, releasing the woman so that she could cut through the door.

She would not, however, let the boy carry her like some breakable piece of transparisteel.

She shook her head, and staggered past him, slipping her Elduröxi into its' holder so that her free hand could hold the wounded arm in place with a hiss.

...So their companion was a witch. Charming.

She stalked past, head swimming sickeningly. She would not let them see her falter, or stumble.

Nei, if she was walking out of her before more trouble arrived, she was walking out of here with her head high and her pride intact. Even if nausea threatened to overwhelm her at the deep throbbing burn in her bicep.

Time to move on.

So their axe-wielder was a stubborn woman.

Shock.

Still, he wasn't about to let Skuld just go on ahead. Stepping in front of her, he gave her a look that told her that he was going first even as Irolia managed to 'open' the door using her lightsaber and the Force. Unlike Skuld this was of no surprise to Tomic due to his over-exposure to Force Sensitives.

You kind of had to get used to working with Sith when you were a member of the Sith Empire's Imperial military after all. He held his blaster pistol at the ready and stepped out into the alleyway behind the bar. Immediately he was aware of the gods-damned smell but he ignored it as he stepped out into the alleyway.

He checked both exits to the alleyway before speaking to his allies.

"We've got people on both exits to the alley, two on each, but they seem distracted. Cigarettes and the like. Should we take them out or not? I think we might be able to get to a fire exit or something and get out of the alley."

irolia was a bit taken back by the "beauty" comment from Skuld and small darken shade of blue filled her cheeks for half a second. She quickly had quickly caught herself and snapped out of it. Placing the metal door on the floor quietly and took a short look back at the bar. It looked like a warzone, which made Irolia a bit proud she had been part of the reason.

The blue alien admire Skuld's stubbornness, they were much the same on that area when it came to pain. Never show weakness and always keep your head high. Of course, Irolia's mind didn't always agree with her on that matter, shab, she hated her own mind sometimes.

Following the two other people out of the bar to the back-alley to the bar. She saw the men and looked for a way to get around them. "Or, we could just kill them down the left side and go the direct way, I'm getting tired of hiding anyways" commented the blue alien leaning up against the back-alley wall with her arms cross. It seemed there was a fire escape a further down the left side of the alley. "They even look distracted, would be very easy for me to slide both in two, just saying" added Irolia, just to get her point further.

The Deuc smirked when Irolia flushed a slightly darker hue; it was true, in its' own way. Empire or not, Skuld could appreciate a pretty face when necessary.

Even when sneaking out of a shot-up bar, apparently. With one arm down, no less.

She glanced quickly back and forth. Hmm... two fighters, both competent, and one that couldn't tank rush... nei. There was a time for blood, and a time to live again. She knew killing two would be a way out, but it wouldn't be quick, and who knew how much time they would have before more reinforcements showed. Plus the other two at the other end of the alley would make escape difficult.

She shook her head resolutely, frowning. "Nei. Time to make a quiet leave. You two go first. To the fire escape. I will be last." But the room tilted suddenly when she stepped, and she had to lean suddenly hard against the wall, which brought another nauseating frisson of pain through her arm and into her chest. She hissed in a breath, then began trying to push the pair of them towards the exit; the four still hadn't noticed.

But if they moved quickly enough, she would suddenly trip on the last few feet towards the other exit, and let out a muffled growl of pain. One of the guards began to turn, and she waved her good hand up towards Irolia and Tomic, face a mask of anger. "Go, now, run!" She hissed to her companions, barely managing to stagger upright when he began to fire.

The first few shots whizzed overhead, but the last happened as a fluke. Really.

She had turned her head. Felt the heat of it graze her cheek. She cursed up as she shoved up on her good arm, and stumbled after them, panting.

"Time to go. Now."

Kark. She had a strong drink... she might need a stronger one after this.

He agreed with Skuld.

The contact who had double crossed them wasn't here so it was best that they escaped today and lived to fight him another day - to kill him another day. These thugs were troublesome but they were things to be avoided, not things to be killed. He was already certain that they could take them but the question was, why bother?

Just because you could do something, didn't make it a good idea.

The enemy seemed to notice them and come alive just as Tomic reached the fire escape. Cursing, he began to climb the ladder as fast as he could, his blaster pistol holstered at his side as he dragged himself up the metal rungs of the ladder as quickly as possible. It was going well.

And then one of the blaster bolts caught one of the rungs he had just grabbed and suddenly he was falling.

Landing heavily on his back in the alleyway, he groaned in pain and rolled on the ground to one side of the alleyway to recover from winding himself with the fall without being shot at.

Today was just getting worse and worse - they might have to fight.

It was almost comical to watch, both Tomic and Skuld did not have luck on their side. Irolia understood their thinking, why take a chance and maybe die? To that Irolia it was more along the line of, why not? Where's the fun in leaving? Igniting her Lightsaber, Irolia redirected a blaster shot heading for Skuld and back at the guy, hitting him in the shoulder. Quickly giving Skuld a smirk, "I'm changing the plan, time for going on the offensive, much more fun!" said the blue-skinned Sith and charged the two men down the left side of the alley.

With an outstretched arm, she through the force pulled the men's blasters out of their hands and disarm them. Like watching a ballet dancer, Irolia danced around the two men, doing small precision cuts. It was clear she pretty much played with them, giving the men cut wounds at their legs. Both men fell to their knees screaming in pain from both their hands cut off. In truth was removal of limbs, both small and large, horrible way to lose them. By getting a leg, or hand cut off, it would be impossible to stitch it back on if they were fast enough to get to a hospital. Due to a lightsaber's instantly to cauterize the wound. "Please, let us lea~" Their plead for Irolia to let them go, got cut short, literally.

Both men's body crumbled to the ground, headless. Irolia had a wild look on her face, her red crimson eyes had turned to completely blood red, which only happened when she was about to lose herself or had already let the Dark Side corruption take over fully. This time it was the latter. She smiled menacingly at the last two men at the other end, now all of a sudden had completely forgotten Tomic and Skuld. They had just seen two of their friends get beheaded and played with by a scary looking Sith, firing violently at Irolia who just deflected and blocked each shot flying at her.

She watched this all with a calm, detached bemusement.

Tomic falling. Irolia and her witchery taking down two of the guard... and then the two guards shooting.

She had just about had enough of her companions being shot at by this point.

Swallowing down her nausea, her left hand fumbled until it found her blaster.

It was more difficult to manage one-handed, so to steady it she had to lower next to one of the trash disposal units.

As their focus was on Irolia, she began to fire. The first guard caught it without a sound, just crumbled to the ground and out of Skuld's line of sight. The second barely had time to notice his companion's demise when he got his dues as well. She panted when the firing stopped, staggering over to their winded companion.

She paused, however, to give Irolia a nod of approval. The girl wasn't bad... for a witch.

Bonus was, no guards.

Skuld had never been given such karking luck in a fight before... perhaps owning this little piece of kit blaster wasn't a bad investment after all.

"Ve still have to get going," she rumbled, left arm bracing her right shoulder, wincing at the burning sensation flaring keenly again.

Maybe she should have her arm looked at when this was over...

Tomic sighed happily when he noticed his allies attacking the thugs, taking both couples out without much trouble. Grunting, he pulled himself back up to his feet and headed for the ladder. Climbing up it swiftly, he made sure to look out for the rung that had been blasted apart.

He wasn't going to fall and look like a tit.

"Alright let's get out of here." he called out to his allies as he finally reached the rooftop and pulled out a datapad to call up a taxi not too far from here, "Our ride should be arriving soon."

Time to grab their uber and get some R&R.

And then?

Some payback.
