Stros.jpg

Voice Actor: Matt Damon Sample

Name: Stros
Faction: Republic Military
Rank: Corporal
Species: Farghul
Age: 103
Gender: Male
Force Sensitivity: Untrained Battle Precognition, "Bad feelings"

Description:

Stros is a formidable looking character. Every inch of six foot eight inches, he sometimes has trouble with starships designed with humans in mind, and has learned to watch his head. His lean build keeps his weight down to just over two hundred pounds, but that's two hundred pounds of muscle. His eyes are bright green and he keeps his teeth and claws clean and white. When not expecting combat Stros wears a dark brown leather brassard, complete with a thick shoulder strap and decorative bandolier. On the upper left arm he has proudly attached the emblem of the Sovereign Guard, which he loyally serves. On his legs he wears simple black cargo pants with utility belt.

The getup shows a lot of fur; as a Farghul Stros is covered in tan-brown fur lying flat against the skin. His fur is not thick enough to hide his prominent six pack, but it preserves his modesty without Stros needing to don a shirt if he doesn't care to. His mane of dark brown hair is kept cropped short, making his appearance slightly more human and 'disciplined' from a military perspective. This is a conscious decision on his part.

Physical attributes

As a Farghul soldier in the prime of his life, Stros possesses strength and speed that human soldiers are almost never able to match without radical genetic or surgical upgrades, a powersuit of some kind, or the power of the Force. His long training and experience have honed his body beyond even the normal Farghul limits. His feline senses are also more acute than those of humans, and his claws make him a terribly dangerous brawling opponent. He's at a disadvantage at long-melee range though, never having perfected combat with a bladed weapon.

Mental Attributes:

Stros is not brilliant, but he's very tactically clever, and has a small mental arsenal of tricks of the trade that he's picked up. He's a strategic fighter, concerning himself with flanking and mobilizing and position. Though his species has the reputation of being natural con artists, Stros is too ethical to have traveled down that road, and relies on straight talk and reason to get what he wants.

Skills:

  • Professional career pilot for sixty years (Just about any craft you'd care to mention)
  • Crack shot with a rifle
  • Terrific brawler with claws
  • Unreliable instinctive Force premonitions of danger
  • Natural hunter's instincts, and keen feline senses give him the edge as a scout

Strengths:

Stros' advanced age relative to his human companions means that he has decades of experience on them in almost any area of life common to a soldier. He's one of the greatest, and certainly one of the most experienced pilots to serve in the Republic, and the gifts of strength and speed common to his people give him an edge against the vast majority of human foes. He's also a great shot with a blaster rifle.

Weaknesses:

Stros' chief weakness would probably be that he finds it difficult to operate alone. He's a pack animal, and needs soldiers he can trust at his side. He's also at a disadvantage against a blade-wielding opponent, having never perfected his own swordsmanship. In fact, he doesn't even carry a vibroblade.

Gear:

Stros' distinguished service to the Republic for so many years enabled him to make several customizations to his military armor. Stros takes good care of it and wears it proudly. It's tailored for Stros's tall and lean build, and armored Stros retains his feline elegance without finding his armor heavy or cumbersome. It's made of white plates of armor covering the entire body, with black highlights running down the sides of the arms and legs. The helmet has an open face, covering only the neck, and back and crown of the head. This allows his feline senses to be used to their fullest. A transparisteel faceplate can be lowered to cover his eyes in dirty combat situations.

Republic armor is hardy and functional. It's able to withstand a few shots, assuming that they don't hit a joint or the thinner playing on the shins, forearms, hands, or feet. It lets bladed weapons slide off with minimal damage. The exception of course, being lightsabers which would feel only a stiff tug in resistance to a direct blow. It also provides resistance against explosions, and great protection against blunt trauma.

Stros' blaster rifle borrows heavily from mandalorian designs, adopting their infamous power and reliability. Naturally it has been scaled up proportional to Stros' size, and is about twenty percent larger and more powerful than a comparable weapon of human size. Fitted with single fire and automatic settings, a respectable zoom lens, as well as the option to fire stun bolts, it's a weapon Stros can count on in almost any situation, including bludgeoning the bad guys on the head if they get into melee range. A power pack carries the energy for several dozen shots before requiring a spare. Stros also carries a heavy blaster pistol sidearm into combat.

Stros' natural eyesight is keener than a human's, and he can see clearly in light that would severely hamper the unaided human eye's ability to function. However, he's not the type to turn down every possible advantage, and uses a sophisticated set of macrobinoculars on scouting missions. They're equipped with a lightweight flexible tripod and several filters, and have proven themselves invaluable in many situations.

Stros also carries several grenades, frag and stun. He also carries the miscellaneous gear expected of any professional soldier, including glow rod, emergency rations, medkit, grappling hook, combat knife, fusioncutter, and rebreather. In the cockpit of a starfighter he wears a standard vac-sealed flightsuit and helmet. Finally, he has a pair of top-tier earplugs that seal off when they detect dangerous noise levels or pressure, but otherwise leave his excellent hearing completely unhampered.

Ship: The Emancipator

dropship.jpg

[Not in use during Stros' service in the military]

Stros was given command of the Emancipator by the Sovereign Guard, an old heavy patrol ship converted for use as a dropship by the Guard. The Emancipator is slightly outdated, but still a sturdy craft with plenty of life left. The Guard's skill in converting and modifying ships to see action is seen here, and Emancipator packs a bit more of a punch than a careless enemy might assume at first glance.

Measuring in at thirty five meters long and fifteen wide, she provides a sleek and deadly silhouette head on, and can unleash her entire complement of heavy weapons without exposing herself to return fire. From other angles, she is much more vulnerable. When she lands, a wide ramp drops down revealing the cargo bay from which her complement of soldiers can disembark. In emergencies, the cockpit can function as an escape pod, sealing off a meter or two behind the pilot. A secondary escape pod is located between the dorsal fins.

Her primary weapon is a pair of bow-mounted, fixed position, light turbolasers. These are almost useless against small and nimble fighters due to their slow rate of fire, and the poor maneuverability of the Emancipator relative to fighters. However, they're powerful enough to let the Emancipator go toe to toe with other small troop transports, freighters, and the like. In addition, the Emancipator possesses port and starboard anti-fighter laser cannons. Their wide range of maneuverability and high fire rate mean that in the hands of competent gunners, they are very good at their job.

Emancipator's armor is quite heavy, being designed as she is to punch her way to the surface of a planet without losing her troops, and she can take a fair pounding. Her shields are standard, but adequate for most cases, and she is equipped with all the standard countermeasures. The heavy armor would normally come at the expense of agility, but carrying only forward mounted turbolasers, Emancipator can't afford to be out-maneuvered, or she would be an easy target. Accordingly, her engines have received a massive overhaul, and now have much greater power than the size and make of the ship would indicate.

Personality:

Stros shares the playful nature of his species, and often likes to take the edge off tense situations with a bad joke or sarcastic remark. The jokes are bad because for lack of creativity, not lack of trying. Stros can occasionally get a bit arrogant due to his extensive experience relative to human soldiers, but he values his team as much as his own life.

Stros is uncompromisingly loyal to what he considers to be important, a loyalty which only just keeps his strong sense of honor in check at the worst of times. One of the things that torture him at night are the times in the past when he's been ordered to fire on, or endanger the lives of civilians. The other is the fear of what would happen if his squadmates discovered that he's gay. He fears he'd lose their respect or friendship, two of the things he prizes most highly in the galaxy.

Stros does what he can to live life without regrets. He owns his mistakes and moves on, and never apologizes for who he is. Dignity, honor, friendship, bravery, loyalty. These are all traits that Stros tries with all his might to personify, and traits that he looks for in his friends.

Biography:

Stros has lived a long life in the galaxy relative to humans and other shorter lived species, but isn't even approaching middle age by the standards of the Farghul. Stros is a career soldier, and a damn good one. He spent nearly a decade in the infantry before he was able to indulge in his true love; flying. His natural strength and speed have carried him through his many battles on the ground not unscratched, but at least alive. He found that his keen hunter senses and grace made for an excellent scout on the ground, and he stuck to the position long enough to be issued a speederbike which he used with enthusiasm until he transferred to the air/space corps.

Stros spent the next several decades piloting starfighters in every sort of engagement imaginable and loved every instant of it. He's amassed more kills than he knows what to do with, and the fuselage of his fighter eventually proved itself too small to record them all. From then on Stros stopped counting.

Feeling a desire to return to the more personal squad-based action he was so fond of on the ground, Stros requested to switch to piloting drop ships and working with the soldiers he flew on the ground. He then supports them atop his speederbike providing scouting intel and valuable firepower.

Props for the "bad feeling" thing. If you don't say, "I've got a bad feeling about this." in every RP you do with this character... I would no longer wish you speak with you.

I wonder how much worse your opinion of him would get if you read his personality...

Well i think the goal of most pedos is to have sex with children in general. Targeting a specific gender is actually a step up. :CHappy:
