I hate having to say this since I'm excited for this premiere, but I'll have to watch it tomorrow since I'm watching the debate.

Thanks a lot, Obama.

I have internet bandwidth and speeds that would make downloading anything take the next three years. No lie. Youtube does not load for me.
Online gaming is a thing of the past. Skype barely connects for me.

Oh how i love satellite internet in the Aussie outback.

SPOILER

"I think Dad wants us to pick up where he left off. Saving people. Hunting things. The family business."

I can't tell you how happy I was that these were the first words of the premiere. Supernatural is back.

Last night's episode was good. It also had higher ratings than the show has had for almost 2 years. Arrow as a lead-in helped. I would imagine the move to Wednesday night did too.

If that keeps up, this will assuredly not be the show's final season.

I still wish Jeffrey Dean Morgan would just return to the series for a few stories, even if they're just flashbacks.

He's too famous and expensive at this point. Hopefully he can at least come back for the series finale or something.

Is he really that famous?

Famous people return to television all the time, Forest Whitaker did it recently, Julianne Moore did it recently. Bryan Cranston continues to star in films while still starring in Breaking Bad.

If that's really his excuse, than it's an incredibly lame one. I'm not saying fulltime, I'm saying take some time out of your schedule to return to your routes, film a couple of scenes over a period of a few weeks, collect your paycheck and move on. All while servicing the narrative of a series that has lasted such a long time.

Let me rephrase the famous part. He's too in demand. He would also be very expense for a CW series in its eighth year.

JDM has also said in the past that he's irked by the fact that the writers shit on John a lot, since he felt that some of the things Sam and Dean said about John after he died were contrary to how he portrayed the character.

Plus, he's not necessary for the narrative right now. He died, they dealt with the aftermath for a long while, and then they put it to rest. Keep in mind too that, after his death, he did return. He returned in the finale of season 2 when the gates of hell opened, and he climbed out of the pit and then disappeared in a flash of light.

Granted, there is a place where they could go with a story about John. When Sam and Dean died and went to Heaven, they found Ash there and he said he could never find John Winchester. Could that mean that Ash just never found John in Heaven, but John is in Heaven? Of course. If they wanted to call that a dangling story thread, though, they could. "What happened to John?" and all.

That's exactly why I mentioned it, it's that 'What happened to him?'' aspect that interests me, and it's something that I really want to see explored, despite my dislike for a lot of the directions they've taken with the show for the last two seasons.

He could do them a favour by returning for a small fee, actors do that all the time, as do writers.

I agree that the last two seasons were not that good. Thankfully they've put someone competent in charge this year, and so far it's been good. I'm hoping that continues. At least they've finally set up a mytharc, which they did not do the last two years.

What is it? I've barely been paying attention since all of that Eve and Leviathan trollop.

The new showrunner has said he's setting up a mutli-season arc. So I would imagine that if they do close the gates of hell, it'd be done in the series finale.
