On his arrival to the planet Hapes, Jacques immediately cut his hair short and shaved off his beard. It had been close to half a month since he had done either, and the fresh air on his face felt great. After doing that, he checked into a hotel located in the south side of the planet's capital city. Third floor, fifth room. A nice shower, a nice bed, a lot nicer than the hole in the wall he lived in back on Coruscant.
Basking in the glory of a fresher that actually had warm water, the private detective went over every inch of his new case in his head. A young lady, a little younger than him, had been kidnapped on her first visit off-Hapes. While searching for her on Coruscant, her parents had decided to hire several private detectives, and Jacques was one of them. Lighting a cigarette the Corellian male changed into a newly pressed, nice looking suit. Blue pants, black jacket, blue shirt and black tie. Over that went a tan overcoat and a black hat and he was feeling very much like his old self.
After his search through Coruscant for his missing person, Jacques had figured that whoever would want to kidnap her would probably want to take her back to Hapes, so that was why he was there. The first place the detective visited was a restaurant that the girl, Telish Dilasi, visited more often than any other place. Nobody suspicious and nothing interesting came up, so he decided to move on.
The second place that Telish preferred to visit was, to put it simply, a dump. Shagga Kahn's Watering Hole it was called, and boy was it. Though Hapes was always a rich play, the ex-Mandalorian had figured it was just the presence he carried that brought noire-enriched settings throughout the galaxy. The bar had much to offer in the way of drinks, so Jacques decided to hold down the fort for a bit and steal a couple glasses of whisky by pouring them down his throat. And by steal, he meant pay for.
If Jacques Demais was one thing, besides being incredibly good looking and smart, it was patience.
And while that wasn't true, as he was the most impatient person to probably live in a thousand years, he liked to tell it to himself so he wouldn't get bored and start yelling at people.
...the whisky helped ease the need for pointless screaming, but the detective got little in the way of information. However, as he exited the scene, he bumped into a pretty little dame, very close to being illegal but also way too easy on the eyes. But for some reason, she also carried herself like she knew how to. Maybe she would be a good lead to follow, as the city of Ta'a Chume'Dan was incredibly small, and it was the only place Telish Dilasi had known besides Coruscant.
"Care for a drink, darlin'?" Jacques asked her, taking off his hat, holding it to his chest and bowing very slightly. He liked to pretend he was a gentleman sometimes.
