Talia Melinda Darlton was a human female biochemist that operated a minor research facility on the planet Manaan. Talia, along with a small research team, dedicated their efforts to studying the effects of the mysterious substance known as kolto. Her goal was to revolutionize medicine with the help of the substance.

BIOGRAPHY
As soon as she was old enough; Talia was sent by her father to one of the most prestigious youth academies on Coruscant. It was there that she met Doctor Yin; her instructor biological sciences. Doctor Yin impressed upon Talia that in such an enormous galaxy there was nothing that was incurable and that only time and research stood between a doctor and a cure. She threw herself into her studies, exploring every avenue related to medicine; Early Cybernetics, Xenobiology, Chemistry, Medicine and even Psychotherapy.
After her graduation; Talia returned with accolades and the personal recommendation of Doctor Yin to her family. Her father and mother were overjoyed with her achievements. However, they were also stunned by her deepening obsession with understanding life and biology. She was more concerned with achieving practical results. Fearing that her daughter would lose out on the important social parts of her life, Sydia urged her husband to forbid Talia from performing research at home. Against his better judgment; Adat consented.
Instead of obeying her parents, Talia was deeply angered by their refusal to see her work as important. She called upon Doctor Yin and asked for his personal recommendation to attend University despite being only sixteen years old. Doctor Yin agrees.
After being ignored on four different occasions, B'ly issued an administrative order to restrict the overworked student's coursework and assign her to a social therapy group. Deeply resentful in this change in her carefully laid out schedule, she nevertheless attended the sessions. To her surprise, Talia found that the gatherings were cathartic in a way and she was able to return to her work with a sense of refreshment and vigor.
Unfortunately, Talia took the lesson in a different direction. Fascinated by the 'healing' effects of social interaction, Talia began to actively seek out varying degrees of social interaction. These encounters ranged vastly in intensity from the illicit to the mundane. One of these inevitably brought on an intervention on behalf of the administration. However, the administration found that allowing her to continue her education unimpeded was far more advantageous than punishing her, despite her lack of overall influence at the school.
Talia completed her program at the age of twenty-eight years old. Twelve years of education devoted to mastering several disciplines. Doctor Talia Darlton then went to the research administration of the University and made an unbelievable request. She asked to be permitted to establish a research facility on the relatively unknown backwater world of Manaan to study the local flora for medicinal purposes.
Beside themselves; the University Administration almost refused, urging her to take up something more prestigious and closer to the core worlds. They wanted to use her to increase their own prestige. Talia in response threw the full weight of her achievements behind her request. Three months later she was on Manaan with a small group of assistant researchers.
PERSONALITY
Obsession, Ambition, and Perfection. Talia has thrown herself into her work with the conviction that success in her pursuit will lead to achievements beyond just those of the sciences. Despite her loftier dreams; she takes her work very seriously and pursues her work with little consideration of extraneous moral constraints. Her sole moral stance is in the treatment of those who request her medical expertise. So long as one is a patient, Talia will single-mindedly pursue their good health and safety.
Talia enjoys exploring the highs and lows of social life. Unlike her time in university, she keeps her proclivities and tastes carefully under wraps and hides them behind an almost amused veneer of detachment. She keeps herself very clean both physically and in the eyes of the law. Though she has a commendable aspiration in her research she sees it as nothing more than a stepping stone in the long term.

EARLY LIFE
Born into a mid-tier military family. Talia was raised by Lieutenant Colonel Adat Darlton and his wife; Sydia Darlton. Her childhood was consumed by a traditionalist rearing under the heavy influence of her father, a native of the outer rim. Adat Darlton was obsessed with military philosophy and intensive education. Failure was punished severely from a young age and success was rewarded with generous affection. At Coruscant University, Talia pursued a lengthy education. Eager to study several different fields of study; she eschewed almost all social and emotional contact with other people. Her work ranged greatly and she was known to attend back to back labs and lectures in order to cram more time into her education. The Director of Student Affairs; B'ly Togta became concerned for her mental health and intervened on numerous occasions in order to encourage her to seek outlets for her stress.

By the time Talia was thirty years old, she was well into her research on Kolto. During that time she had arranged with the local Selkath for the purchase of Kolto fields in order to facilitate the research into turning the once useless substance into a medicinal compound. Though she was forced to assign ownership to the laboratory and its lead researcher; Darmon Kitz. The isolated native species were more than happy to agree to such a benevolent cause. Since then Talia has been obsessively seeking a final product.
