just had the most epic game of talisman. It was fun all the way to the end and lasted 4 hours. There was no lag at the end, I loved every bit of it and never wanted it to end. AWESOME

I love Talisman! I play the old school version though.

Talisman is sort of an RPG mixed with a board game. It comes in pieces and you put the 'world' together like a puzzle. The object of the game is to gain a Talisman and get to the middle of the board. From there, you can sabatoge and kill other players.

You have different skills, like craft and attack. You can also gain spells and magic objects, like the Staff of Holding. It allows you to enslave any creature. I was walking around with a demon (Craft 10) for a slave once.

I have never thought to post awesome moments in board gaming... seeing as the last I played was a game by Milton Bradley.

While I haven't played Talisman, which is made by Games Workshop, I have played W40k and LOTRSBG from the same people..

Which version should I buy if I feel so inclined to get it?

I have the newer versions andthe old version. I would go newer. Although the old one is good the newer one has some sweet expansions and it makes the rules mor clear. But for example I used the old ones crown of glory cards with the new one. It is epic

Also games can last a little whil so make sure you have time on you. Another great game is doomtown. It is epic and a very long game.
