I was told by @Nefieslab that since personal plots had changed the discovery of a force sensitivity could simply be rp'd now.

Hey there. So, the problem is your profile (prior to edits) lists that your character was not force sensitive, listed 'negative' instead, instead of 'yes, but untrained/undiscovered' or something of that nature. Which means that there is no force in this person. So, it looks like a retcon as it is now.

In the past TL i had done the same (through a plot) with my character Vincent Cross.

It is clearly in the rules for this TL that a characters Force sensitivity needs to be stated upon creation. If you wanted him to be FS then you should have made him FS but untrained. Can't start as a NFS character, use armor functions, and then switch when you feel like it.

Edit: Actually, the fact that people exploited this last TL is why the change was made. People claimed to be NFS, used armor functions, then switched and started using the Force. That isn't cool.

My character who did that's armor functions were destroyed immediately with the discovery.

Is there some way we can work around this in this case?

No, it's clearly stated in the rules.
