[Holocron of Jedi Master Siri Firestorm]
"The four years between the First Hutt War and the Second Hutt War was a time of rebuilding for the Republic and the Jedi, both of which had been ravaged during the first Hutt conflict. During that time, shortly after I became a Master, I was sent to Tatooine. A minor mission regarding a dispute between two Jawa clans; the Weekkata and the Nkik. The Weekkata had intruded on the territory of the Nkik. The situation escalated when at the annual swap meet, a meeting of all Jawa clans, the Weekkata refused to trade merchandise or even marry off their sons and daughters to the Nkik.
"When I arrived, the two clans were at such odds that they were getting ready to start a tribal war. It took me several days to get out of the Weekkata that a Krayt dragon had invaded their territory, leading them to infringe on the Nkik's. Using my abilities with the Force, I led the dragon away from their land and the tribal disaster was averted.
"Soon after, the Clan Leader of the Nkik, and his wife, the clan's shaman, came to thank me, bringing along their son, Tando. I could immediately sense the presence of the Force within this boy. Of course I informed his parents of this and they explained to me that he had displayed "weird magic" in the past, which I knew was actually manifestations of the Force. The displays of his powers had frightened other members of his clan, forcing his family to hide him away at the clan's fortress until a solution could be developed.
"After hearing this, I immediately offered to take him with me back to Ossus to be trained as a Jedi. The family of Jawa were reluctant at first, but in the end decided it was best for him, and let him return to Ossus with me. The Jedi Council deemed him worthy of starting the training and he became my fourth apprentice. As I trained him in the ways of the Force and in the Jedi arts, he taught me several alien languages, such as Huttese and more of the Jawa Trade Language.
"His progress was astounding. I can say with confidence that he was my best student. In two years, he mastered the training I'd given him; as his training was far more personal than the previous three student's I had trained. Eventually he became a Jedi Knight and was often sent to Tatooine on missions concerning the Jawas or Tusken Raider incidents. During his training I had imparted on him the knowledge of my two lightsaber forms, Soresu and Djem So, but he was never good at them. Instead, after becoming a Knight, he trained and mastered Ataru as a style of fighting and was soon able to keep me on my toes in our regular sparring matches.
"However, for all his talent in lightsaber combat, he never liked it much. He was unlike me in that regard. He preferred the study of the Force and all its mysteries. Eventually, his skill in the Force surpassed even mine. During the last two years leading up to the Second Hutt War, he often helped train younglings in basic Force abilities, but he never took on a formal apprentice. Very few apprentices knew the Jawa Trade language, and even fewer could speak Jawaese, so it was often difficult for him to find an apprentice.
"He solved this by having the Jedi Master in charge of the Great Library on Ossus teach him a number of alien languages, allowing him to communicate better with his fellow Jedi. He also became an instructor on languages at the Jedi Temple on Ossus, allowing more and more apprentices to learn the Jawa Trade language.
"In the end, Tando and I became very good friends. He and I regularly conversed on important and casual issues. I came to see him as almost a brother, despite his non-Human heritage. I think one day, he'll be a valuable Jedi to the Republic and the Order alike..."

[Personal History of Tando Nkik]
"Over a decade before my Master took me to become a Jedi; I was born into the Nkik Jawa clan in the Dune Sea on Tatooine. The son of the clan leader and the Shaman, a lot was expected of me at a young age. I would later learn that I inherited my mother's Force-sensitivity (shaman's had the Force ability to heal illnesses, but it was rarely noticed by the Jedi). I was aware I had special abilities from a young age, though.
"I spent most of my youth in the clan fortress, along with all the other Jawa children. Upon reaching adulthood, I joined my father in the clan's sandcrawler. Sometime later, I began randomly displaying my affinity for the Force. Whenever I'd get upset or angry, things would often fly off the walls or shatter. I'd also have 'night visions'; where my dreams would show me something that would later occur.
"At first, my family did nothing about it and other clan members simply avoided me. Then the krayt dragon came. The night prior to its attack, I'd had a dream about it. Like always, I relayed this information to my father who, also as always, passed it off as nonsense. The dragon attacked mid-evening, while we were out of the sandcrawler scavenging in the dunes. Many of our adults were killed, and my father took what was left and began to flee back to the safety of the sandcrawler. I wasn't so lucky. The dragon came after me, and just before clamping is massive jaws down on me, I must've subconsciously tapped into the Force, using it to snap the dragon's jaw.
"From a distance, I guess my father had watched. He placed me back in the fortress and told me never to emerge until something could be done about me. A year later, my soon-to-be Master came and resolved a dispute between my clan and the Weekkata. I was introduced to her, and she sensed my latent power. My father gave me up to her; perhaps the best decision he'd ever made concerning my life. After that, my life was always dedicated to the Jedi...who became more family to me than my clan ever could."
