NAME: Taran
FACTION: Sith of the Old Empire
RANK: Sith Acolyte
SPECIES: Amaran
AGE: 18
GENDER: Male
FORCE SENSITIVE: Trained

APPEARANCE:
The most unexpecting creature to walk in the ranks of the Old Empire's Sith, an Amaran - a small vulpine species of the Inner Rim - standing the diminutive height of a little four feet and weighing barely a hundred pounds. The richness of his faded white-gold fur matched only by the starting corruption in his black eyes, irises visible in a shimmering white ring to slit-pupils. Obviously, an exotic specimen of his people rejected with the abuse of slavery and later, ruthless Sith training regiments. His arms and back are marked with black Huttese tattoos that he plan to remove with the right credits. Toned under his obsessively-groomed fur from the tip of his gnawed ears to the flicker of his tail. Taran has the tendency to stand as tall as he can to project a stubborn pride, self-consciousness, and regality born from his murderous-earned status.

Personally, the Amaran suit himself in an armourweaved leather coat-like tabard, gauntlets and boots in self-protection while still appearing fashionable in the Sith manner. Around his waist, he carries a utility belt lined of pockets and magnetic pads for his lightsaber if he isn't conceling it on his person.

ATTRIBUTES:
Taran grew up from the brutality of slavery into the ranks of Sith, as many have before him and after. Such a background produce usually the most conniving, perceptive, and self-preserving. The Amaran being such a creature, he is a creature of constantly-weaving plots and schemes behind a calm face. While he is a fair duelist in his own right, Taran focuses with the power of the mind; from creative strategies to manipulating the force in its triangular known aspects of Control, Alter, and Sense. With his small yet durable size, a clever mind and his innate quick reflexes go a long way.

However, with it comes to the lacking strength that most can brutishly bare. It aligns with many factors in Taran's life; from his lightsaber capabilities to the humor that his size brings by the 'power-is-right' philosophy that his kindred share. Youthful as he is, the Araman attempts reckless spurs of ascension when it seems in his favor but the Force tend to have other plans for him. In general sight, Taran is underestimated and he uses it to his advantage. Sometimes, his carefulness leads to him to seem timid and overestimating. It is simple survival to him but cowardice might have a factor.

PERSONALITY:
Taran is a proud, self-conscious, and forward-thinking Araman from a slave background. Hiding his insecurity and seething venom under layers of will and the outward appearance of a Sith noble, well-spoken and condensed with every movement and word calculated. In a way opposite to the typical Amaran with their joyous merchant's bicker and energetic movements, an irony that hasn't escaped him. With the Old Empire's teachings, Taran believes himself to be above the Force-blind and untrained, and further his pride by his less-than-humble start.

However, the nobility and careful tone can change into a cruel, tyrannical sort that oozes the true darkness that corrupted his heart from his master's abuse and teachings under the Old Empire. Noticeably, Taran refuses to refer slaves under his attendance as such nor provoke abuse of any kind but he knows he has little power to change the very structure of the Empire. The one gleam of light that twists sometimes in the rare moments that he was facing the same fate again. This unleashes a wild madness that has seen a number of cruel, jeering Sith students murdered during his tutelage. When he can, Taran hide his tattoos under wrappings and try to keep them hidden.

BIOGRAPHY:
Taran was born on his people's homeworld of Amara but his family was a nomadic merchant clan that traveled back and forth between the Core Worlds and Mid Rim in trade of Imperial supplies and constant attention to their trade-frigate. When it was safe for the newborn to join after a year on their world, his parents rejoined the clan and continued their enterprise with seemingly little troubles. However, little by little, they were surfacing among the older and younger generation. One side wanted to keep to tradition that will ultimately keep them safe from harm, but the other wanted more. The Outer Rim was nothing but danger. However, the danger had its rewards. It soon became clear who would win in the end; by vote and shakedowns, the clan was exploring the darker side of businesses. Strangers stepping on their ship, making deals...and soon, a dark turn fell upon the frigate Far Quilt.

Taran never found what happened to his parents, but he knows in the shaking of a hull tearing itself part, shields falling, blasters hammering both outside and inside their home. The screams. They will always haunt him, even his own as a Nikto snatched him from his hiding place. At the age of six, he was a slave of the Hutt. His rare pelt saving him from the pits but as apart of the court's sights under the slimy hand of Khirto the Hutt.

As he painfully glances back in his youth, the future Sith bristles everytime to the memory. The disgusting waves of laughter from the Hutt and his minions, the squeals of guards, the begging and graveling of shaking beggars and servants that come to plea for something; money, favours, assassinations. Anything and everything in a dark sector of Nar Shaddaa. Suicide was becoming a desired opportunity than living his life as a pet to this far-life spanned creature, but instead - a far better path was opening.

One night, while the Hutt's tattooist was branding a new flavorful mark upon Taran before the fool scarred the Amaran's lower back. The alien ink melding with his blood and seeping into his wound, causing a rush of sickness. Intentional poisoning or not, his hatred boiled and rolled in an unusual wave. What should have been him dying in feverish shakes and bloody mucus, it was the tattooist who was choking on his own blood. And in moments, the twi'lek collapsed while guards snatched the glaring Amaran away from the scene.

However, the fear of the events and the Hutt's possible reactions infested the fussing niktos until it drove them insane. Ripples of the Force dancing, sending the disturbance of violence to a Sith inquisitor who was hunting for a possible Jedi hiding in the section. The night grew worse by the moment. A furious Khirto had the fighting guards executed for the death of his tattooist, the injury of his prized pet and most importantly - the disturbance of his rest. The death was soon put to question, wanting if one of his rivals was finally making a move in trying to kill his Amaran and later himself, or something else. However, before he could investigate further, the Inquisitor came into the club.

A figure of dark power, clad under the hefty robes and sullen face framed by a greying beard and locks, stepped in. Eyes burning yellow suns tracing at the patrons, the guards, the Hutt, and finally - Taran. First, he gave a lofty introduction to himself and business present; in the search of a Jedi and the disturbance they have wrought. Believing this 'Jedi' could be the culprit, Khiron was willing to add the Sith.

The regret and begging in his eyes later as Taran looked into them days later. His entire power base ruined, torn bit by bit until paranoia had his whole court executed and rivals seemed killed. Leaving himself and his pet holding an unlit lightsaber to his neck, his guards' bodies in pieces or murdered by the Force. Behind the boy, the same Inquisitor whispered to him:

"That is it, Taran. Look into his eyes. Feed into his anger, his loss, his regrets...his pitiful desire to live. He may live for hundreds of years but we can end it as easily as a bug under our boot. Are you his pet...or are you his boot?"

"I am his boot."

And with the squeeze of the hilt, Taran ended his first master's life...and smiled for the first time in a long time.

With the Inquisitor's hand on his shoulder, the Amaran became a student of the Sith at the age of eleven. Sending the remaining seven years to the tutelage of the Dark Side. Despite the harshness of martial training that beated the physically soft cub into a stern survivor, the class educations and teachings of the Force and its place in the universe revealed so much to him. The hatred of his past -from the selfish foolishness of his clan to his enslaved youth - fueled him against Korriban's survival of the fittest life, whether by the cunning of his mind or the surgical ending of a threat until the small vulpine slave became a Sith acolyte with a web of the envious, humble, and respected to his name.

SKILLS:
From his life as a slave, Taran has an unconscious obsession of organization, protocol, and cleanliness that lead him becoming uptight and well-fluent in the Imperial lifestyle, if seemingly submissive to its rule. This extends with the desire of knowledge and constant advantage while he was training in the Sith academy, easily absorbing information that he read or observed. From the history of the rise of the Dark Jedi that dominated the original Sith Empire to now as well as the rituals and strategies of his religious predecessors. By culture and innate perception, Taran catches most body languages and out-of-place sensations -even before being trained in the Force - allowing faster than most to situations that can potentially ascend into all-out violence. A skill that saved him from several near-death experiences in the academy. In addition to it, he was required to be bilingual with a number of languages typically found in the Outer Rim - in particular, the dominating Huttese.

By the time of 'graduating', Taran has a general and well-rounded understanding and proficiency of the known triangle of the Force schools: Alter, Control, and Sense. Each he uses appropriately with favor towards the powers of Force Valor, defending Force shields or waves of telekinesis, healing himself with the draining of his enemies or will, Mind-related techniques that twist the mind or probe information, or the admittingly classic dominance of the electrical elements in self-defense or torture. Perhaps his most important is Force Stealth, hiding his presence in the Force or the sensitive itself until the key moment.

However, when forced to defend himself, Taran reveals the term 'cornering an animal' is more than just a phrase. With the Sith's passionate technique of Juyo in the dominance of his fighting style, his small frame forces him into the usage of its more mobile footwork and acrobatics - inevitably the including of Ataru - becoming a whirling tempest of crimson and the Force with any mercy left turned into pure animal hatred.

Other than the expected training of a Sith, he has proficiency in firearms and personal weapons to some degree but like any other, the Amaran greatly prefers the use of the lightsaber and Force. From the harsh lessons, Taran knows how to survive in the wilderness and confront several vicious animals -whether of ending their lives or mentally dominating them into tamed service. Piloting starfighters and transports with the guidance of the Force and at least with personal equipment, capable of engineering. Taran admittingly enjoys the elegance of diplomacy and speechcraft, rather to be 'civil' than taking things into a bloody conclusion, and have shifted a number of situations into his favor in the past.

Excellent writing, @Castellus. His slavery background could do wonders when it comes to character development, if you ever decide to take that route. The fact that he's Amaran, and a Sith, is also... interesting.

Everything checks out, weight and all. However, the armored Sith robes may require a generic tech submission or write-up. For instance, you could use this. On the other hand, I'm assuming the robes listed are simply robes and do not provide any genuine protection in a PvP setting. So, tagging @Malon for approval.

Approved with an emphasis on Deviant's note that those robes offer nothing in the way of protection in PvP. You'll need to link a gen tech write-up or link to another armor submission if you want actual protection. Your preference!

I wasn't sure - and rather surprised - there isn't protective robes, especially for the Sith. Not pure plate armour but at least take a blaster shot or two from armorweave underlaying, but overall it is just mild protection and no doubt make little difference in pvp. Taran rely on his speed and Force powers anyway. I am fine either way.

@Deviant - A late edit, I finally discovered the armour I was thinking of -

May I change his robes for this?
