Biography

"I've never seen Mandalore. What's it like?"

"I'd like to say it's paradise,
but its as rough as a bantha's backside,
and half as pretty."

From the Private Journals of Tau Lou
[Initial Mandalore Entry]:

There it is again. Home.

This is the first time I'm seeing it with my own eyes. But, somehow, it's all so familiar. Like a dream.

Mandalore is home, and always shall be, because my father is Mandalorian. He was brought up here among the galaxy's finest warriors.

My mother, a Korun from Haruun Kal, drew him away from home many standard years ago.

And now—

Now I'm back; back to where I belong.

On Haruun Kal, there is a tradition of tribes—Ghôsh they are called. My mother explained to me, once when I was still very young, that the Ghôsh were very similar to the clans my father came from. The Mandalorian Clans.

I decided then and there that I would some day return to Mandalore and claim my rightful place among my father's people. That day is now. The jungle of Haruun Kal has forged me. Now, Mandalore's flame will refine me into the warrior I was always meant to be.

I have practiced what I must say, when I meet the Mandalorians who are to become my new family—my new Ghôsh—my new clan. To pass the time, as my ship descends, I will put it here:

My name is Tau Lu.

I am the daughter of Kar Lu, of Clan Lu, and Sree Rotsu, of Ghôsh Rotsu. My father was a Mandalorian—a member of Death Watch, before the group was absorbed by the Mandalorian Dominion—who ultimately left home many moons ago when he met my mother on a mission to Haruun Kal. The nature of his mission there is unknown to me as is the truth behind his disappearance.

As a girl growing up in the harsh jungles of Haruun Kal, my mother spoke fondly of my father. She spoke highly of his bravery, his candor, his honor and his ferocity as a warrior. She said that I must follow his footsteps and master the jungle if I was to rejoin his proud clan. Much of my youth was spent achieving these goals. My mother, a capable fighter on her own, taught me the basics of combat; she instilled in me a warrior's heart and honor. From her lessons, I learned to survive the jungles of Haruun Kal.

But—

My father never returned. I believe him dead, a causality of whatever mission he was on, or perhaps a casualty of the jungle. I cannot be sure. However, I can be sure of what his wishes for me would be.

Just as I was forged by the jungle, the Mandalorians have been forged into something new: the Mandalorian Dominion. The only legitimate government of Mandalore. Soon, it is my prayer, the only legitimate rulers of the galaxy. I have returned to Mandalore to offer my skills in the furtherance of that prayer, just as I believe my father would have wanted. Just as my mother wants.

My name is Tau Lu. I am a Mandalorian.
Now—

Now, I can only hope that they hear my words and grant my plea to join them.

My skills are many and my loyalties lie with Mandalore; and with the Dominion; and with my true dôshalo in Clan Lu.

And so it shall always be...

"The Korun culture is based on a simple premise,
what they call the Four Pillars:
Honor, Duty, Family, Herd."

f3qURjc.png
From the Private Journals of Tau Lou

I have been accepted. I am one of the Mandalorian Dominion. A 'Commando.'

I suspect the decision to admit me was less about my Mandalorian Clan Lu heritage and more about who I am. More about Tau Lu the Korunnai.

And why shouldn't it? Korun society and Mandalorian society are similar despite the lightyears that separate their worlds. Haruun Kal's Four Pillars—Honor, Duty, Family, Herd—are very similar to the warrior code adhered to by most Mandalorians. My mother raised me to understand these principles. No, more than understand them; to live and breath them.

The first pillar is Honor, one's obligation to oneself. It is the ability to keep your word and to hold others to theirs. To speak the truth, even when the truth offends or compromises your position. It is the the bravery to fight despite the odds, without fear and without doubt in your convictions. And yes, though some Mandalorians might disagree with the Korun here, to love without reservation.

The second, greater than the first, is Duty, one's obligation to others. To do one's job. To work hard, despite the circumstances. To obey those in positions higher than you. To stand by your ghôsh—the Mandalorians would say, your Clan.

The third, even greater than the second, is Family. Respect your parents and their legacy, of which my actions undoubtably reflect. Love and revere your spouse, whichever gender or species they come from. Raise up your children in your ways. Defend your blood, even to the death.

The fourth, the greatest, is Herd. The Herd on Haruun Kal is literal. The grasser herds form the basis for all life, and all of the previous pillars may be forfeit to protect one's herd. For me, for the Mandalorians, the Herd is Mandalore itself. For Mandalore—for the Dominion—all of these pillars may be sacrificed. Mandalore's success and victory are paramount. Even before your honor. Even before your duty.

Even before your family.

Perhaps the Dominion noticed such devotion in me. Perhaps they knew my training in their ways was complete even before I arrived. I may never know. The jungles of Haruun Kal have prepared me for everything Mandalore can throw at me.

And, in the end, I will indeed sacrifice anything for my dôshalo on Mandalore.

Abilities

"You can't rule Mandalorians.
You just make sensible suggestions they want to follow.
And since when have Mandalorians needed
to be told what makes sense?"

Marksmanship

After arrival on Mandalore, Tau Lu received extensive training on the use of blasters, as the skill would be her primary mode of combat as a Mandalorian Protector.

Her primary weapons are two SA-21 heavy blaster pistols.

Hand-to-Hand

Taught exclusively by her mother, Tau Lu learned the tenets of the Echani martial arts style from a very young age. This was a particular martial art that focused on mastering the body rather than a particular weapon or use of the Force.

She is a formidable unarmed fighter as a result of her training, and was considered to have a firm-grip on the three tiers of Echani fighting—especially their foundational elements. Her skills have only been further enhanced as a result of her training under Death Watch.

The Force

All Korun are naturally attuned to the Force, a result of their Jedi lineage. As a half-Korun, thanks to her mother, Tau Lu has a faint connection to the Force and—like others of Haruun Kal—can make use of her powers. However, she lacks both Jedi or Sith training, having only received instruction from her mother. Thus, she lacks the Jedi discipline to use her powers to the maximum. That being said, she still possesses the ability to sense the Force and use telekinetic power.

Fabulous. Welcome to the Mandalorian Dominion. Nalu favors you. We prefer that you not start as Protector right off the bat, butt with our missions, accolades and ranks will be granted freely. Kick some but and this charrie can move up fast.
