Drast was going to be in a -world- of trouble. He knew Master Indy was going to either kill him, strangle him, zap him, hell even a combination of the three. He knew two things: One, Crix was leaving the temple on Yavin, alone and two, he couldn't let him just go alone. He felt some kind of weird kinship with the zabrak and so he stowed away onto the fighter he took. It was cramped and most importantly? The wrinkles. Oh gods above and below, his poor vest. He was barely coping with the death of his former Master and if he lost the vest? He didn't think his heart could bear anymore loss.

Once they landed, he'd give Crix some time to leave the ship, maybe do a once over. But after that, the former rogue was out of the hold and tracking his quarry. Cursing, he'd attempt to battle the wrinkles as he walked, easily blending in with the crowd around him. Luckily for him, Crix stood out like a sore thumb, Jedi robes. Who wears those? He just hoped they weren't those hideous algae ones.

That's when it hit him. Corellia. He was back... to where it all began. Immediately he rolled down his sleeves and buttoned the top three buttons of his shirt, hiding all the ink and symbols he had. His quarry would walk for a bit until he came to stop before a mechanic's shop. "What are you doing... Crix.." he mused to himself. Then he saw the girl. "Oh-ho, my man." he immediately hid from view. If Crix was going to get cod-blocked, it wasn't going to be because of him. Once Crix stepped inside with the girl, Drastus would let out a sigh of relief as he looked around and what a coincidence? A laundromat! He quickly stepped inside and set into immediate emergency overdrive. He was going to save his vest. He made sure the mechanic shop was in view, no matter what happened, he was gonna make sure Crix had a friend after the ordeal.

Crix didn't know anyone was following him but he could feel something familiar in the Force. He was already comming to realize that he identified people in the Force by memories, either connected directly to them because they featured in them or because of emotions he associated with their presence. He frowned ever so slightly as he walked down the street, closing his eyes to focus on the feeling and slowing to a stop.

He wasn't exactly adept at using the Force at the same time as doing something else at this point. The presence he was feeling felt like...

An easy confidence he had pulled off in spades even while he lied to his teacher through his teeth... a confidence he didn't feel but could fake well enough that no one else knew the difference...

Huh.

That guy from the Temple Hanger... Drast he thought he had been called? Yeah that was him or, at least, that was who it felt like. But what the hell was he doing on Corellia? Following the feeling he paused in the doorway to a small business because he got his answer rather quickly; he was busy trying to use fabric softener on a vest?

"Drast?"
he called out from the door, eyes open again, "What you doing on Corellia? You and your Master got a mission or something?"

Drast had the shades on and was working meticulously to get his vest back to peak condition, an effort that was going very well. At the sound of his name, he looked up, just over the shades and offered a nod. "Sup, Crix. You uhh.. have a good time, yeah?" he asked with a teasing grin. "Mission? Nah, I saw you didn't fill out the proper PTO requests so I might have followed you. Well, with you. Next time ya snag a ship, get a bigger one, yeah?"

"Ah-ha!" with a majestic flap, he pulled that purple vest back on and boy did it look perfect again. He ran his fingers down either side before starting to rebutton it closed. This would very well be perhaps the only time that Crix had ever seen the teen without his sleeves rolled up or the top three buttons actually closed up. Three quick strides and Drast was at the door, flicking a cred to the woman behind the counter "Thanks darlin'." finger gun fired at the woman he stepped out into the street.

Did he have a good time? Was that a Jedi Code he wasn't aware of yet or something? Crix honestly didn't really know how to answer that so he decided to go with honesty. If it was some kind of code, he was sure that Drast would set him right rather than let him break Jedi rules or something. Besides - honesty was the best policy with allies right?

Totally.

"It wasn't fun but I needed to do it."
he admitted with a small shrug, "Had to face the music and try and move on, you know? I owed her too much to just not try."

PTO requests? Seriously?

He raised an eyebrow because, well, even a newb Jedi such as himself thought that sounded kind of suspicious. Both eyebrows rose when the guy spoke about having followed with him... as it as part of the ship he had taken. Being something of an awful pilot, Crix had let his pilot droid and astromech handle the flying while he had tinkered in the backseat and kept the two of them from having too many arguments.

"... how did you even fit?"
he asked, honestly rather bemused, "You're like, what, six foot two or something? How is your spine not snapped?"

The actual smuggling of himself inside the ship to follow him? Concerning but not a question he needed answering right now. A question he wanted answering right now was the question of how his spine still worked.

Seriously.

If there were rules for Jedi, Drast had worked hard to not hear them, even with his first Master. "I feel that, Crix. The most important stuff is often the hardest stuff. Did it at least give you both some closure? Hopefully some healing?" From the tone, Crix would be able to tell he was genuinely hopeful the Zabrak got something positive from the moment. He paused momentarily to scan around the street and make sure they weren't being watched or followed.

"Honestly? I'll probably need some physical therapy after that bunch up." he said with a laugh. "I was much smaller as a kid, I could fit into tighter places. I took it as a personal challenge to fit on the ship." He would momentarily take out his comm, check to see if there were any messages from his new Master, and that's when he realized it had gotten broken during the flight. Ooh yeah.. I'm really dead now.. he'd think to himself.

Did it give him closure and healing to talk to Willa? He thought it would do before he arrived and now... now he was more certain than before that he had made the right decision. Meeting with Willa again had been something he thought he had to do and now that he had done it, he was able to freely admit that he was glad he did do it.

"I think it was as productive as it could be."
he admitted after a moment of thought, "We... we're close and I think even just meeting up again means that isn't going to be going away any time soon."

He didn't go into too much detail because, well, he liked Drastus well enough but this was literally only the second time they'd met. So he was probably going to keep 'spilling his secrets' til at LEAST the third date. And that... that sounded way too much like Master Hannibal's level of humor.

Best to ignore that, hard.

Wandering out into the street with Drastus, Crix hummed a little bit in agreement as he cast his gaze around the street. He froze slightly before grabbing Drastus by the wrist and starting to drag him away quickly. Purposefully keeping his head down, he sped up slightly.

"See those guys by the speeder bikes?"
he grimaced a little bit, "Last time I was here I kind of... maybe... caused some explosions in their swoop bike gang headquarters."

Fun times.

"Well if it was good, then that's good. Glad we came here." He said with a laugh. The boy seemed rather carefree save for the slight paranoia someone might recognize him. "Gotta say, I'm not sure what the rules are on.. fraternization outside the Order, but if the stiffs have anything bad to say about it, kriff em. It's relationships like this that remind us why we do what we do."

As Crix grabbed his wrist, his eyes would shift to look at him "I knew a set a bad precedent at Yavin. At least buy me dinner first, yeah?" he said with a laugh. At Crix's reasoning, those shades slid down a bit so he could squint. "Ahh... kriff.. really? Guess there goes my low profile."

Fraternization outside the Order?

Well Crix wasn’t sure on that either really because he knew Talak and his mom had been… fraternizing (so gross even now) and no one seemed to have said anything to either of them about it. Had they kept it secret from people other than him as well? He would honestly feel a little bit better about being kept in the dark about his mom having a serious boyfriend if it turned out that the secrecy was required to keep Talak from being kicked out or whatever.

But…

“If it happens often enough that there’s a rule specifically about it, chances are that people do it despite any rules.”
He argued with a shrug, “Besides… might not be fraternization outside the Order depending on how she feels.”

He honestly wasn’t sure how Willa felt about the whole Jedi thing but he hoped she was at least willing to consider it thoroughly. Even after speaking to her, he didn’t want her to feel as though he was forcing her to go down a certain path.

Far better than she make her own decisions because she would be the one facing the consequences of her own actions – kind of like he was now.

“Yeah it wasn’t exactly what I had intended at the time but, well, it was either that or get beaten to death by idiots with lead pipes.”
he admitted, glancing over his shoulder to see that four gang members were following them, one of them speaking into a com unit, ”Oh hey guess they’re not that stupid… time to run Dras!”

Crix broke out into a sprint with the last shout, letting go of Drastus’ wrist so he could better run like Crix was doing. Already the gang members had given up any attempts at being subtle as they gave chase.

"Well, ball's in her court, yeah?" He replied with a shrug. There was a momentary pause. "She.. have the Force too? You said 'outside the order'."

He would nod at Crix's explanation of his run in with the idiots and as the Zabrak began to run, so did Drast. It had only been a few years since he left but boy did it just feel like yesterday. He shot a grin to Crix "Hey, let's give em the run-around, yeah? Follow me."

He'd cut down an alley to the left, quick as a flash, hurdling over a baby's stroller and eliciting a shriek of surprise from the mother. The alley was a dead end, to those who couldn't climb. Reaching the end, he'd bound onto the top of the dumpster, allowing the momentum to carry him a few steps up the wall, before he leapt to grab the windowsill about six feet away.

He'd lower the fire escape ladder for Crix as he waited, staying low as the now very angry swoop gang members poured into the alley. "You uhh.. carrying?"

Yeah he had mentioned the ‘outside the Order’ part but he wasn’t really going to expand on it – for starters they were in the middle of a chase. That and it wasn’t his place to say. He knew enough to know that specialists within the Order went out recruiting people and he knew that was probably for a reason but more importantly?

Willa was her own business and it wasn’t any of his business sharing stuff around about her.

But mainly? The chase was currently more pressing a situation.

Sprinting had always been an activity that Crix found came naturally to him due to his duel hearts making it easily to keep his heart rate down even as he was moving hard.

“Run around sounds better than banking on the local PD!”

Corellia’s local police force was a lesson in extremes; they had incredibly well trained and equipped task forces for some crimes but street crime got some of the most disinterested officers with a habit of taking backhanders. And fighting them didn’t really strike him as a good idea so running away really quickly?

More of that.

Kicking off of the wall, Crix grabbed onto the ladder, pulling himself up quickly after Drastus, hearing some commotion as their pursuers crashed into something beneath them. He caught Drastus’ eye with a frown.

“Blaster rifle.”

His mother’s blaster rifle was discretely hidden away in a sling across his back, underneath his robes while his pistol was still holstered at his waist. It was… it was the most armed Crix had ever been but he hadn’t brought the rifle as a weapon.

"Good to know, in case it comes to it." Drastus would say. At the sound of the crash, he'd stomp on a latch, unhooking the ladder and sending it careening towards those below them. He would then turn to head up the stairs and onto the next level. "Up four, then aim for the window across the street! If we can switch buildings then we can keep ahead of em, yeah?"

A blaster, well that was good. At least one of them had something really effective. All the former Corellian had was what he could get in snugly and that comprised entirely of a dagger and a pair of brass knuckles, stock ones, nothing even super important. Something Crix said would elicit a laugh from Drast "Oh yeah, we do not want a run-in with the PD.. or else you're going to have to break it to my Master that I'm in jail!"

Up the fourth level Drast darted for the railing and leapt off of it across the alleyway. He would grunt as he hit brick, catching on to the sill. Foot finding purchase, he would kick himself up a floor to the next sill and pull himself higher up. Now he was level with the fire escape and pulled himself onto it. "You think they saw you come out of that shop?"

In case it came to it… well he wasn’t about to say he wouldn’t shoot someone if the options were to either shoot them or get shot himself. Call it selfish but he didn’t have a lightsaber or the training to ‘return to sender’ as it were so it was probably in his best interests to shoot first or, at the very least, shoot better than the other guys.

Seemed this was not the first time Drastus had used some hardcore parkour skills to evade people on the mean streets of Corellia. Not that Crix could say much since he’d had some fun around the place at the expense of some crooked junk dealers and the like.

Not to mention the swoop bike punks that were still trying to follow them.

“Who even is your Master?”
he called out to Drast with and shake of his head, “The worst thing is if I ended up in jail? I’m half convinced Master Hannibal would be proud of me.”

Hannibal was weird like that.

Good point actually… Crix made the leap, grabbing hold of the other building with both hands. A blaring sensation in the back of his mind had him swing to the right, just in time to watch as a chunk of duracrete exploded. He groaned and pulled himself up as one of the gang members started trying, badly, to hit them with a blaster pistol.

“I don’t think they did – besides, I think they’re more interested in blasting at us!”

Asshats.

"Master Indy Sati!" Drastus yelled back as he just narrowly dodged a blaster bolt. "I'm pretty sure she'd just wag a finger at me and then tell me how disappointed in me she was. I'd be ruined." he said with a laugh. Eyes surveying their surroundings he had a horribly awful idea. "I think I can detach the fire escape from the building. Give these shitbirds something to think about, yeah?"

He'd detach the ladder from that level and throw it down at the bikers, sending three of them diving as it landed on one of them. He was alive, sure. That's what Drast would tell himself at least. He was just taking a nap. Hooking a boot onto the rail he'd lean over, extending a hand to Crix, while the other gripped the railing above him. "Jump! I gotcha!"

Indy Sati? Who in the bloody hells was Indy Sati and why did it sound like a name his history teachers had probably tried to teach him at one point? Questions for later - well questions for when they weren't being actively shot at. Once that little crisis was over, Crix was all for sharing some gossip about their Masters because there would be time and a distinct lack of people trying to kill them.

Detach the fire escape?!

"Don't people need that to escape from fires?!"

He wasn't a local but he also didn't think that building regulations were really enforced when they should be. A fire escape probably wouldn't be replaced if they broke it... he drew the rifle and flipped it to stun. Holding his mother's rifle in his hands felt wrong and right at the same time.

As though his mom would be both proud and ashamed that he had taken it up...

But it was too late and the ladder was gone. Grunting, he launched himself up for Drastus to catch him with the rifle slung over his shoulder once again. Now slightly safer than he had been before, Crix shook his head.

"I have got to stop getting myself involved in things that end with destruction of public property..."

"I never need one." Drast would say with a laugh. He would grunt a bit at the added weight before hauling Crix up and over the railing of the fire escape. "Yeah, well.. I guess we could try to avoid anymore. If it'll make ya feel better." Drast said with a grin.

And just like that, he was back to running up the last few levels. Unlike the last fire escape, he was content taking this one all the way to the roof. "Once we reach the roof we can just pick a direction and travel the rooftops. That should make it easier for us to escape them." If Drast noticed the hesitation with the rifle, he didn't speak on it. And as far as he knew, Crix was just a fellow urchin fortunate enough to find and own a rifle.

Bounding the last level, Drast would jump the ledge onto the roof and come to stop. "Which way?"

If it would make him feel better? Crix couldn't help but give a little bit of a laugh at that comment, shaking his head as he did so. He eyed Drastus as they just caught their breath for a second before shaking his head and laughing.

"Swear to the Force, you're exactly the kind of bad influence my mom used to tell me to avoid."
he joked with a grin, "I never listened before so I guess listening now would be weird."

Still wanted to make sure they didn't explode anything or leave the Order with more kark to explain though. Reaching the roof was just a matter of another set of steps, which he took without took much worry. Rolling his neck a little bit, he dusted himself off a little bit.

"Whichever way leads to the spaceport."
he reasoned with small shrug, "I kind of remember it but only because I got involved in a terrorist hostage situation there for a bit."

He was beginning to realize that his stories were weird.

Crix's words would make Drast laugh "Yeah, yeah, I get it. Avoid the street urchin. But I definitely appreciate the vote to go against her wishes, I'm trying to be a decent Padawan but I think I am going to swing out on that one. Week two and I've already snuck out." he'd say with renewed laughter.

Scanning around his gaze wouldn't stop until it landed on the spaceport "Terries, eh? Hopefully we don't run into them on our way to the port, yeah?" he grinned back at the Zabrak. "Ya know, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship, despite how biased I am on the topic. Let's go and blow this pop stand." he'd then start to head off in the direction of the spaceport.

Yeah Crix wasn’t really sure what made a good padawan but he was reasonably sure that going out to warn his friends about the Sith and to urge them to join the Jedi to train their latent Force abilities was… a good thing? It felt like a good thing to him of course. Wasn’t that what the ‘Light’ side of the Force was all about? Doing the right thing?

Even in his own mind that actually sounded unbearably naïve.

“Well I’m 90% sure it’s because of the property damage she would have told me to avoid you – I’m too young and pretty for a rap sheet you know!”
he joked right back, “How is your Master about all this running around?”

Hannibal was currently having Crix focusing on the more physical elements of being a Jedi and it was kind of exhausting on a level he hadn’t been expecting. It was good for getting some of the physical aspects of the Force down though – he was beginning to use the Force as Reinforcement a little bit more since his first few punishing exercise sessions.

His Master ramped them up whenever it looked like he was beginning to get used to them.

Crix smirked a little bit and smacked Drastus lightly in the upper arm.

“Race ya.”

And then he was off, using what he had learned about Force Reinforcement and his naturally faster and stronger form to launch himself to the neck rooftop after a run up.

"Well, yeah, but you can't have a good chase without at least a thousand dollars in property damage." Drast said with a laugh. "Master Sati? She is going to ream me a new one after this, I think. As far as training goes, trying to really learn how to use the force. She's going to help me with that." Boy was the sun bright up here. He'd reach down and grab his shades to pull em on.

Then came the tap and then the real race. "Kriff!" Drast shouted as he bounded after him with a joyful laugh. He would leap as best as he could with the Force maybe giving him a nudge, he'd never truly know. For now, he was just having fun.
