Tegarian Zexalles Peacecraft.
Physical appearance.
Tegarian is a man of great stature and aging years. His eyes, once a startling jade green, have dulled to pale sea green. His short cropped hair has more than enough grey as does his beard. He has a patch of scarring on the right side of his face. For a human he is considered to be tall and well built, the Force having kept his body younger than his age would belie. He carries himself with an air of purpose and wisdom with a slight smile on his otherwise stern features. His usual attire is that of a Jedi Master, plain robes with some armour plating that have turned grey over the years, a utility belt with all the usual supplies, brown leather gloves that have worn to a perfect fit. He carries a blue bladed lightsaber; this being his fourth personally built blade, his others having been either too old or lost in combat.
Personality.
Tegarian has become a wise old man and this shows in the way he talks with people. He has gained a lot of patience while working on the outer rim worlds and is usually rather soft spoken. He would rather find a peaceful solution to a situation than come to blows and this reflects in his role as a diplomat and seeker of knowledge. However; if one should raise his ire, he is not incapable of using the tools available to him to bring a swift end to conflict and he is also not afraid to do what must be done, for Fear is the path to the Dark Side, and One must never Fear.
Likes/Dislikes.
Tegarian has become fond of the relative solitude that the past few decades have brought him. Though he does long for the companionship of his fellow Jedi; thus spurring him to return to the Order. He finds the search for lost knowledge to be one of his most favoured pass-times along with meditation. His outlook on the galaxy has become rather jaded due to the suffering he has observed in the outer rim and he has developed strong attitudes against causing misery to others and the indiscriminate torturing of slaves.
Strengths and Weaknesses.
Tegarian’s greatest strength is his thirst for knowledge; however this is also his greatest weakness and he has more than once been lured by the Dark Side only to remain within the Light. He is intelligent and patient and uses this to his advantage when searching for truth and knowledge. He brings balance in his use of the Force and his lightsaber techniques, preferring the Niman form over all others. Another weakness he has is his intolerance for ignorance.
Biography.
Around fifty-seven years ago a boy was born to the Peacecraft family of Onderon. Within the first three years of his life it was obvious to the family that this was no ordinary child. They contacted the New Jedi Order as secretively as they could and requested that he be tested. A few months after their initial contact a Jedi Knight came to Onderon in search of the family and their child. After some testing which revealed within the child a very strong connection to the Force the Jedi Knight thanked the family and gave them his utmost promise that he would be raised by the Order and given every chance to become a Jedi. The child was called Tegarian Zexalles Peacecraft.
Tegarian was brought to Tython and tested once again by the Jedi Council. Once it was confirmed that he was indeed a Force sensitive he was placed in the care of the Order and raised to become one of them. By the age of eight, Tegarian had learned enough to become a Padawan and was assigned to Master. During this time he showed a great aptitude for history and a desire for knowledge. He also became a very capable duellist and showed an ever growing connection with the Force. He constructed his first lightsaber using parts he had acquired during off world missions with his Master. At the age of thirteen, Tegarian began his Knight Trials; during this time he endured physical pain and gained some scarring on his face and lost his first lightsaber to the creature that gave him the scar. He constructed his second lightsaber as part of his mental trial, entering a state of deep meditation for almost two weeks, all the while focusing on the reasons that his first lightsaber was lost and what could be done to improve upon the design. It took just under a year for him to pass all the tests required of him.
After passing the Knight Trials, Tegarian was offered several places within the Order. The path that called to him the most was that of the Consular; a seeker of knowledge and bringer of peace. For several years he continued to study on Tython, much of his time being spent in the ruins before journeying out into the Galaxy in search of further lost knowledge. He returned on occasion to deliver the tomes and holocrons that he found and to impart his new found knowledge unto the Council. During one of these times when he was in his mid thirties he was asked to tutor a Padawan. After much consideration he chose a youngling and raised them to the rank of Padawan. Unlike most Knights that take a Padawan, Tegarian decided to spend his first year with his new pupil on Tython instead of taking them immediately off world. Once he was satisfied with the Padawan’s progress he took the child with him on his quest for knowledge. During this time he found his second lightsaber required too much maintenance and as part of the training for his Padawan he showed the young one how to construct a new one. A few years later the Padawan passed the Knight Trials and Tegarian was granted the rank of Jedi Master. He was approached by other younglings once he gained this title, all hoping that he would take them on as a Padawan. He gracefully declined these requests and resumed his search in the deep rim worlds.
For almost twenty years Tegarian has been away from the Jedi Order, skirting the planets of the deep rim and wild space in search of the lost knowledge of the Jedi and sometimes inadvertently uncovering lost knowledge of the Sith. It was in this time that he found a crystal cave on a remote planet that had a strong resonance with the Force and once again entered a deep state of meditation while he augmented his lightsaber with a new crystal found deep within the cave, thus creating his fourth and current lightsaber. He now returns to the Order in search of something, though what this something is he does not know.
