Mae rolled back into action above the planet. She was originally supposed to join the others on the surface, but got side tracked. She flung her ship around for another pass on the defense platforms but most of them were either destroyed or disabled and none were able to make any impact into the survival of the planet.
The planet below was in the industrial and pre-deep space advancement, so Mae wondered how they could have had such advanced tech in orbital defense platforms. The answer quickly became clear as she picked up a group of ships entering the system. All of them were cargo or slave ships except for a handful of fighter escorts. these must have been other slavers who used the defense platforms as a way to stake the claim on this world ripe for enslaving.
Mae brought her ship around on a direct course with them. She quickly disabled one of the fighters while destroying another. Before turning and engaging the rest of the fighters, she made a quick pass at one of the larger cargo ships and disabled a few port side laser cannons as she did. They returned fire, barely scraping or effecting Mae's shields.
She quickly disabled the remaining ships and boarded them one by one, taking them for the Pykes.
