THANE VEREN'S BESKAR'GAM

This armor has been put together by Thane Veren during his early days on his own as a mercenary and bounty hunter. Because he is just starting out, the majority of the armor is cobbled together from whatever he has been able to find. The basis is that of a flight suit but with modifications to suit his needs.

The gauntlets are beskar inherited from his grandfather and protect the forearms, wrists, and top of the hands. The helmet was also inherited and although it is durasteel, it is packed with useful features. The rest of the armor is of lower quality but better than nothing. Durasteel shoulder guards protect the shoulders. As part of the flight suit, there is a blast vest with duraplast insert over the chest, abdomen, and back. In order to save weight, the bicep/tricep region of the arm are covered only by a light fiber armor that can only withstand basic glancing or shrapnel-type attacks.


LEGALITY

Legal. Having been initially based off of a jury-rigged flight suit, it does not have any illegal features attached to it.

INTENT

This is a generic armor set for Thane Veren to use during his starting days as a mercenary.

Type and Coverage

Type: Medium

Coverage: (Coverage regions for Light armor is 1-3 regions, Medium is 4-5, Heavy is 6-7)
  • Head: Full head durasteel helmet
  • Torso: Lightweight blast vest with removable duraplast plate inserts
  • Back: Lightweight blast vest with removable duraplast plate inserts
  • Upper Arms: Durasteel shoulder plates and armorweave upper arms
  • Lower Arms: Beskar gauntlets covering the wrist, forearms, and tops of the hands with armorweave gloves (contrary to picture, hands are fully enclosed)


Functions



Function 1: Vision mode
  • This Allows the Helmet HUD to cycle to thermal vision.
Function 2: Repulsor (left wrist)
  • Originally designed to counter combat with force sensitives, this tool is able to project a strong repulsor field replicating a Force push. It projects up 10 meters and its limited power cell only allows for 3 uses before it needed changing. The repulsor has significant recoil and the wielder must carefully brace themselves before use- both to ensure accuracy and to prevent the user from being knocked over themselves or having their arm torn from its socket.
Function 3: Rebreather
  • Rebreathers allow for a person to survive underwater or in space for brief amounts of time by scrubbing CO2 from their exhaled breath. Generally this lasts for 3-4 posts, but heavy exertion can shorten that time.
Function 4: Vac-Seal
  • It's no replacement for a dedicated spacesuit if you intend to EVA, but this under suit, when combined with a helmet, can protect the wearer from the immediate effects of exposure to a vacuum for up 5 posting rounds. You still need a way to breathe, however.
Function 5: Scout HUD
  • Scout HUD - Contains a 4x magnifier and Compass.
