Nothoiin

Get out of my way!” The Nothoiin was physically outmatched by the larger security guards, but his determination made up for it. “I must see him!” The struggle had drawn the attention of others at the office and a small crowd had formed. Drawing on his reserves of strength, the slightly built male was able to push passed the guards and charge through the door. When he entered the room, he was greeted by the site of his elderly father sat at a table signing paperwork. Standing either side of him were two men he didn’t recognise. One dark-haired and stern looking. The other blonde, with scars on the left side of their forehead. “Father, you have to stop this. This mine is our family legacy. You can’t just sign it away,” he pleaded. The elderly man didn’t even look up from the documents. “I’ve made my decision, son,” he stated, his voice emotionless. Before the young Nothoiin could get closer, two security guards grabbed hold of him. “What have you two done to my father,” he hissed at the two mysterious men. “Escort him out,” the darker haired man instructed the guards. “He obviously needs time to calm down.” The young Nothoiin was dragged from the room kicking and screaming. His father was eerily calm throughout, as he finished signing the documents. “Done.” The tall, dark-haired man picked up the papers and quickly scanned through them. He couldn’t help but smile as he checked the signatures that handed control of the Ur-diamond mine to him and his accomplice. As the seemingly weary old Nothoiin sat at the table, his eyes strangely changed colour for a few seconds…

A few days earlier

The mansion was in sight. It stood, pristine and gleaming, in the darkness. Thel observed it from the trees, Trael Osso crouched next to him. Thel was wearing crudely put together armour. It wouldn’t offer any protection. It was merely to disguise his appearance. It was crucial that no one see their faces.

Remember Trael, we must leave no evidence of our presence. We sneak in, capture the target and take him back to the ship. We won’t need him for long anyway.” Once the target was captured, the single asset Thel had acquired, utilising a contact that Zorya had obtained, could be put to use.

Let’s move.” Advancing swiftly towards the mansion, he spotted a guard. Waiting for them to turn their back, he reached out and used the force to drag them towards him. Holding them still in front of him, with a slight movement of his wrist the guard’s neck was snapped. He gently lowered the body to the ground before continuing. “Up there, a balcony. We can use that to enter,” he said to Trael.

Getting the stealth memo from Thel when he was informed. Wearing a stealth suit only meant to hide his identity and not as armor. Also having a handful of simple throwing daggers and a vibrosword.

Following behind the master slowly and silently. The first guard was dealt with quietly before a balcony was mentioned. Leaping up and landing quietly on the balcony a guard came around the corner. Reacting off of instinct a dagger flew towards the mans throat aided by force. The blade piercing straight through the mans throat severing the spine. Before the body could drop it was lifted with the force and dropped down to the lower levels as he was the dagger was glowing red from Traels application of pyrokinesis cauterizing the wound in the process. Looking down he would wave up Thel. Five more daggers shouldn't use them recklessly. Crouching down beside the nearby door waiting for his associate.

He watched as Trael leapt up to the balcony above. Soon after, a guard’s body dropped down. He took a short while to conceal the body along with that of the guard he had dispatched of. He then jumped onto the balcony to join Trael.

Crouching next to the balcony door, he took a few seconds to calm his mind. He couldn’t sense anyone waiting behind the door. Grasping the door handle, he gently slid the door open.

It was an empty bedroom. Even with the lights off, it was clear that the room was immaculate. “By all accounts, our target has been living alone at this property for some time, with the exception of his guards. He’s become a recluse,” he whispered to Trael. Approaching the bedroom door, he heard footsteps pass by outside. The sound of the footsteps gradually became fainter. “Properly disposing of the bodies we left outside should be easy. I would prefer to avoid killing anymore inside the building though. We are only here to capture our target,” he explained. Gently pushing the door open, he checked the corridor. It was clear. “Let’s find some stairs. We’ll check upstairs first.

Trael slinked in after Thel admiring the room momentarily. Thel gave a breakdown of the target and various parameters they should follow. Thel opened the door stating the desire to sweep top to bottom.

Slipping out into the corridor he went the opposite direction of the faint steps. Turning the corner of the corridor it opened up into a kind of sitting area. Heading to the nearest door he cracked it open peaking in. It was another empty room much like the one they were in originally. Peaking back around the corner he waved over Thel. If nothing else they would have a place to hide while searching this area for a way up.

He followed Trael and noted the empty room. “Let’s find a way upstairs.” Moving back in the direction that the footsteps had gone, led to a room with a set of stairs going up and another going down. “Maybe it would be better if I look upstairs, and you look downstairs. Save ourselves some time.

He began to creep up the stairs, staying alert for any guards who may be on patrol. Reaching the next floor, he peered around the corner at the top of the stairs. He let out a slight sigh of frustration. Two guards stood talking. He could head down the opposite end of the corridor, but they could always turn around and see him. Looking at the light hanging from the ceiling, on the other side of the guards, an idea came to mind. Reaching out, he used the force to crush the bulb. Flinching from the surprise, the two guards turned to look at the now broken light. Utilising the opportunity, he quickly made his way down to the other end of the corridor and rounded the corner,

Trael followed Thel to the stairwell nodding in agreement to splitting up. Walking down the stairs he initially saw and heard nothing. Making his way into the room he began to hear footsteps coming towards him. Looking up at the light above him he quickly loosened up the bulb enough to cut off. Employing one of the few techniques he learned from his masters training he cloaked himself from sight using the force.

Using it to move around the guard going to where he came he stopped when he saw some of the rooms had lights on. Feeling in the force that the guard was still messing with the bulb he dropped his cloaking. Walking up to the first door he put his hands on it. Sensing out with the force he could make out three people and the room seemed to be laid out like a barracks. Fuck, was the only thing he could think did he just wander into the guard housing section of the house?

Thel skulked down the corridor. There was a small set of stairs at the end of the corridor. It was quiet. Only the distant sounds of footsteps and faint voices could be heard.

Suddenly, the door immediately in front of him opened. A guard stepped out, stretching their arms above their head as they yawned. Capitalising on the fact they hadn’t noticed him, he reached out and placed his hand near their head. Utilising the force, he stunned them into unconsciousness. Quickly reaching out and using the force to hold their body in place before it hit the ground, he then reached out and grabbed them. Dragging their body back into the room they had just left, and closing the door behind himself, he dumped their body onto the chair. Presumably they had been skiving off, by taking a nap. They wouldn’t remember their close call with a Sith. Turning back to the door, he heard two sets of footsteps moving down the corridor. He could hear snippets of a conversation.

I went upstairs and gave the old man his pills. Who knew one person could take so many.

What’re you going to do now?

I’m going to head downstairs and take it easy for the night…

He waited until the sound of the voices and footsteps moved further away, before slipping out of the room. He then headed to the nearby small set of stairs to take him to the top floor.

Trael had once again used to force to cloak himself from unwanted eyes. Continuing down the hallway he went to the next door. Applying the same technique the room seemed similar only difference was the occupancy was one. This was causing Trael to slowly get worried about his decision. The last door in the hallway was different. It was a single person bedroom and only had one person. Slowly opening the door he snuck in the room looking around. Going around to the bed he realized the man was younger, sneaking back out he went back down the hall.

Shortly before he could make it out a guard came around the corner. Trael reacted using the force to choke the man while covering his mouth with his hand. Eventually the man would fall asleep and Trael would release the choke but not the man. Using the force he slowly lowered the man to the floor than dragged him to the couch in the main room. After this he made his way up the stairs trying to regroup with Thel.

Creeping to the top of the stairs, he stepped into what looked like a small living room. A couple of sofas with a large oak table sat between them. Everything looked untouched and pristine. Without warning, a door opened to Thel’s left. Diving down, he rolled into cover behind the sofa farthest from the door. Peaking out, he saw two guards step out from the doorway, leaving the door ajar. Move, come on. They didn’t. One lit a cigarra as they began to chat.

Looking to his right, he spotted a rather large painting hanging from the wall, close to the window. Reaching out in the force, he focused on the painting. The painting dropped off the wall and landed with a crack against the wooden floor.

What was that?” The two men turned to the sight of the painting on the ground, the frame cracked open. “Damn.” One of the guards approached and squatted down to look at the mess. “How are we going to fix this, the old man will go crazy.” The other guard came to inspect the damage, peering over his colleague’s shoulder. “You think we can glue that,” he said, sounding somewhat miffed. “What sort of a stupid suggestion is that, he’ll notice…” Thel took advantage of the opportunity and snuck towards the slightly open door. He slipped through and into the hallway. One step closer.

Making his way up the stairs he made it to the level above the one they entered from. The two guards were arguing over how to fix the lightbulb Thel had busted. The guards seemed busy but Trael needed to have fun. Knocking over a vase down the hall behind them further away from the stairs. As they went to investigate Trael went down the clear half of the corridor.

Trael would see the next flight of stairs and head for them. Coming up the stairs he heard another set of guards arguing over something that broke this time a painting. Fuck why are they always in pairs. Looking around he couldn't find anything to distract him but a nearby door was open. He would cloak himself in the force briefly just long enough to slip into the door. I swear if I find another guard barracks I'm killing everyone.

Thel had reached the end of the hallway, when he sensed a familiar presence. He turned to Trael. “The target is on this floor,” he whispered. Turning left, he tip-toed along the hallway. At the end of the hall, the corridor branched off in two directions. There was a door, that led out to a balcony. Glancing out of the window to the right of the door, he saw a guard with their back to him. They stood leaning on the balcony rail, presumably taking in the night air. Crouching down, he silently moved passed the window and continued on. Taking a right turn, he was beginning to think they might need to track back the way they came. That was, until he spotted a large pair of wooden doors near the end of the corridor, to his left, which stood out from the others. The doors were adorned with intricate patterning and a panel above the door displayed the initials “WH”, the target’s initials.

I think we’ve found him.” He reached out to the door handle, but something stopped him. An uncomfortable feeling. “I want to see in the room before we enter. Do you have a way of checking under the door,” he asked, gesturing towards the small gap at the bottom of the door.

Trael had caught up to his companion finally. First the came to a junction with one side leading to a guarded balcony and the other leading to a hallway. Crouching down like Thel did he continued following him making not of each doorway they came across.

Towards the end of the corridor two large doors that were completely different to all the others in the house awaited them. Thel asked if he could see under the door. Trael smiled, “I’ll do you one better I can see through it.” Placing his hand on the door and seeming to meditate he used the force to sense what was in the room. As the room came into picture nothing seemed out of place. A few dressers and a large bed was the first thing to begin coming into view. Then something weird popped into view there was a large looking humanoid on a chair just sitting in the corner. Trael couldn’t make out what he had seen there exactly.

Removing his hand and slightly panting from beginning to feel the effects of constantly using the force to sneak around. Turning to thel his face was a mix of confusion and surprise. “There’s a large humanoid of some kind sitting in the corner. For some reason I couldn’t sense it in the force. I’m going to assume it’s a sort of guard droid.” He would then step back and wait for the master to decide how to proceed.

Thel stood patiently as Trael worked on ascertaining what was in the room. He noticed that his fellow Sith seemed to be tiring slightly.

Right, best to be sure though. Wait here. I’ll communicate with you via comlink.” Moving to the end of the corridor, he twisted the window handle and gently pushed it open. Turning around, he awkwardly manoeuvred his tall body through the window. Gripping onto the frame with one hand, he looked to his right and saw a Juliet balcony on the outside of what he believed to be the target’s room. Pushing himself up, he gripped onto the edge of the roof and shifted across to a position above the small balcony. The balcony was no more than a small bit of metal railing. Slowly lowering himself, his feet touched down on the top railing. Climbing down, he rested his feet on the bottom railing, as he clung onto the top railing with one hand.

He could see into the room. The familiar figure of a KX security droid was in the chair, its back to the window, facing the door. He could see the outline of a person lying in the bed. Presumably this was the target. Before that could be confirmed, the droid needed to be dealt with. Reaching out with his free hand, he focused on the droid’s head. The force coiled around the droid’s head and, with a movement of his hand, the droid’s head was violently twisted out of place. The deactivated droid slumped back in the chair. “The droid has been dealt with. Enter the room and incapacitate the one in the bed. Remember, we don’t want to hurt the target yet. Just stun them. I’ll make my way back to you.

Trael received confirmation from Thel to move into the room. His target was in the bed. Slowly opening the doors he slipped into the room closing them behind him. He was told to incapacitate but not hurt the target. He made his way to the bed where the person in it was snoring louder than a bantha.

Reaching out with his hand he focused the force enough to incapacitate the man more than he already was. Since he was already asleep it didn't take much effort to do so. His body seemed to relax more than it was but his snoring was still going on. He would the stand up waiting to be rejoined by his fellow sith.

Thel made his way back into the hallway, closing the window behind himself. He then joined Trael in the room, making sure to close the door. “Good work. Now, we will need to get rid of the droid as well. Wait here.” Thel opened the window in the room, as wide as possible. “I’m going to jump down. When I signal to you, I want you to levitate his body out of the window and then allow it drop. I’ll use the force to guide it down. Then I want you to do the same thing with the droid. Be careful though.”

Thel then climbed out onto the small balcony and dropped down. Allowing the force to help cushion his fall, he landed with a gentle thud. “Ok, you can send the target down,” he instructed Trael over the comlink.

Thel came back and laid out his plan to get the target out. Watching him make his way out of the window and drop down so he could mimic it.

Waving his hand over the bed, taking off the targets covers with the force. Using to force to levitate the target he slowly moved him out of the window. “Target is coming down be prepared.” After that he would slowly loosen his grip on the target before dropping it. He would then walk the droid out setting it down himself as Thel messed with the target closing the window then jumping down.

He waited for Trael to join him, back on the ground. “Let’s get back to the ship.” He carried the elderly Nothoiin, leaving the droid for Trael to carry. It wasn’t too long a journey back to the ship. He made one trip back to the house to retrieve the bodies of the two guards they had killed outside, in order to take them back to the ship as well.

The asset was there waiting on the ship. He placed the elderly man down in front of it. They had a few hours before daybreak. More than enough time to obtain a scan of the Nothoiin’s appearance and also a sufficient audio sample once he woke them up.

Once the work was done, a copy of the Nothoiin emerged from the room, along with Thel. The copy had been given its instructions. It would leave for a few days, under the pretence of an unexpected business trip. This would provide the pretext for the “deal” for Thel and Trael to acquire ownership of the ur-diamond mine. “We just have to put the copy in the room and tidy up a bit, then we’re done.

Returning to the mansion, he looked up at the window. “I’ll go up there and make sure the Nothoiin’s absence hasn’t been discovered. If so, I’ll signal for you to lift the copy up towards the balcony. I should be able to do the rest.

Calling on the force to enhance his leap, he propelled himself up towards the balcony. Reaching out, he just about grabbed onto the railing. Slowly he pulled himself up. Peering into the room, he could see it was quiet. Undisturbed since he had been there earlier. He hauled himself up and into the room, taking a few seconds to catch his breath. Once he had composed himself, he signalled to Trael via his comlink. “Send the copy up.

Trael landed with a soft thud next to the droid. Following Thel's lead he would pick up the droid and follow him to the ship. Once arriving to the ship he set the droid down to the side. He would then go help thel with recovering the two guards they killed. Once back he would meditate while the copying was done. He listened and nodded his approval to the plan.

He made his way to the mansion with Thel. The plan was straightforward just replace the target with the copy. As he watched Thel seem to struggle climbing into the window he couldn't help but chuckle. As he got the order he started to slowly move the droid up and onto the balcony. "You sure you'll be ok after your daring climb?" He called back giving the older sith a hard time.

Thel noted the comment as the droid was lifted towards him. “Yes, very droll. I think I should be able to manage though,” he remarked over the comlink. He levitated the droid, disguised as the elderly Nothoiin, into the room. The droid then took its place in the bed. After taking a bit of time to tidy up, he then jumped down from the balcony, landing gracefully.

Mission complete, so to speak. Let’s go.” With the droid installed, the process to acquire control of the ur-diamond mine was now in motion. END THREAD

He simply kept a watch out as Thel did his business inside. As the time passed nothing came out of the ordinary. Then Thel jumped down beside him. He explained that the hard part of the job was done. "You didn't pull anything did you I'm sure we could stop by a spa if so." Shrugging as he followed the master. "Now we wait the best part of the mission." His voice was laden with sarcasm.
