Illustrated representation of the Autumn Fox in his later years.
Category: Historical Figure
Library: Galactic History
Location: Trans-Galactic
Origin:
The Rascal of Routes, King of Pirates, The Morellian Misfit, and Demon of the Rim were but a few names Jord Ambros earned in his lifetime. But the story told here is different than the myths and legends told over drinks. Through collaborative work and effort, the closest thing possible to a true recounting of the man's life is composed in this brief biography.

The man known most famously as the Autumn Fox was born Jord Ambros at an unknown location in the Outer Rim. Morellian by birth, he learned much about traveling the trade routes of the galaxy. His parents were smugglers by trade but, whilst on an endeavor, a deal went sour, ending in both of his parents being killed. The group that had perpetrated the act of homicide were members of the Hutt Cartel. Whether they did this at the behest of a superior's desire or took their own initiative it is unknown but the individuals involved held no love for the smugglers having seen them as opposition and inconvenience for their immediate business.

Stranded on the planet, Jord couldn't take his parent's ship and former home. To make matters worse he was still young due to his Morellian biology but this did not deter him from continuing his path of vengeance. Over the next few weeks he joined a band of brigands that had stopped on the planet for some rest and relaxation. But they were surprised at the amazing wit the boy possessed who helped them on his own volition by bargaining their cargo at a harder price, giving the band of scoundrels an unexpected boost in profit. Jord joined them and he continued a regular basis to astound his company with his skill in bargaining, wisdom and knowledge of the trade routes.

Traveling with the small group of pirates he manipulated them somewhat into picking targets that hindered the individuals that had killed his parents. They would make stops on planets for some rest and relaxation only for Jord to go off on his own for a day or two and return somber. the day after they usually was reports of a death or murder on the news. After a dozen or so of these occurring the brigands he was traveling with started to catch on and so the rumors about Jord Ambros started circulating. The boy was done with his vengeance having found and killed those that had killed his parents.

Jord didn't stop his time with the colorful nomads and instead their numbers swelled. As time went on it became an unsaid agreement that Jord was their leader. In his relative age of adolescence, he had made changes from what the pirates originally were and into a more regimented fleet of ships. in truth, they were still corsairs and plundered numerous trade routes but Jord made sure to protect the interests he cared about and feigned legitimacy through privateering.

This did not go unnoticed. But the Outer Rim was unprotected by the Republic or any other faction or government, save for the local planetary governance. Though he never laid siege to any planet, he became an icon in folk legend. How he gained the name Autumn Fox is unknown but he often wore a fox pelt across his shoulders among other furs that he had acquired through his own avid hunting skill. It could also be attested this was from an exclamation involving a business partner that had commented on his wit being that of vulpine nature.

Jord in his prime

The corsairs under Jord Ambros had over a century to accumulate a reputation. Yet never were they confronted by major opposing forces. Ever elusive and the stuff of legends, they worked in all corners of the Outer Rim. But that was not all they were good for. From time to time they would work as escorts for smuggling and trade operations, extra muscle and presence of power as well as some odd jobs here and there. It was on one of these times that Jord was hired by an arkanian scientific group in wild space. On the organization's laboratory space station, he met the love of his life, Avi who was one of the experimental subjects. He learned that terrible things were going on at the laboratory and so with the aid of his men he turned on the science group and rescued his beloved.

After those events Jord and Avi became the leaders of a fleet of buccaneers. Together they did what they wanted, when they wanted and for a time it was prosperous for them and all the pirate community. But it didn't last. As time went on the men and women under the Pirate King's leadership grew sour. This was in the final years of the fleet due to Jord's loss of interest in the corsair activities. Having a son only increased this feeling. Inner conflict increased and bit by bit they lost members until they were just a fraction of their former presence. But even this ended as a few years into the birth of his first and only child Jord was betrayed by most of his own men. The few that stayed loyal rallied with him and fought them off so his wife and child could escape. After all, Jord had assembled a fleet of the most ruthless and cut throat beings in the galaxy and when hungry the hounds of the fox fleet tried to tear at anything close.

Illustrated representation towards his final days.

The defining moment was a single Frigate against half a dozen Corvettes fought above Mimban, the Autumn Fox's former Head Quarters. The Frigate, Jord's flagship had mutinies formed inside its hull and there were others that formed on the numerous other ships in the former Fox Fleet. The fight left hulks of metal and wreckage still in orbit to this day. The whereabouts of Jord Ambros child are unknown but there are rumors of a being known as the Pale Fox who may have some relation to the man. Of course, it could just be popular referencing but stories of the Autumn Fox and his exploits of the Outer Rim still are spoken in cantinas across the galaxy.

Jord Ambros at his peak united numerous smaller pirate factions into a single indomitable fleet. He pillaged, stole and harassed numerous worlds but also gave back to many others with the spoils he acquired on the rare occasion being seen as a rogue-ish philanthropist. While just a single man, starting off by simple means became a legend to be remembered for ages. His presence has been paid homage in numerous musical compositions, inspired dozens of holo-vid series and dramas, as well as brought piracy towards the forefront of cultural awareness. It is because of the threat of another Jord Ambros that some planets have joined together to prevent such a scoundrel from taking advantages of the space lanes again. While for the adolescence of the galaxy it gives them someone to relate to. The criminal underworld remembers Jord as a titan of his time and while some revere him as an accomplished individual others see him as a lesson to learn from, and a record to beat. Though he died over a century ago others can still hear tales of his exploits as if he had conquered corners of the galaxy only decades ago.

This is cool but I'm not entirely sure what it's for. Is this relevant to a faction or character backstory?

Also, there are a lot of easy to fix grammar mistakes in here. The most prevalent ones are how you often don't capitalize the first letter of a sentence, or words like Outer Rim. Can you take a pass at fixing these?

Primarily for my character Geir Ambros and is/will be referenced for future story telling and even potential arcs as well.

I'll edit the capitalization issues later tonight.

The last three paragraphs still had almost half of their sentences beginning lower case, so I went through and fixed it.

With that, Approved.
