Over a millennium ago, a battle was waged on the planet Naboo, sparking a conflict that led to the fall of the Jedi and the Age of the Empire. Now, a thousand years later, Naboo once again finds itself in the midst of playing a crucial role in shaping the future of the galaxy.

Not long ago, the Galactic Rebellion sent a fleet of vessels into Imperial space to uncover a truth that the Dark Lords of the Sith desperately wanted hidden: the Empress has an heir, and both are Skywalkers. The truth was revealed when one Rebel from the doomed fleet broadcasted a transmission of hope, sparking a fire across the galaxy.

Though both the Rebel and Imperial fleets were mysteriously destroyed, one part of the Rebel fleet had broken off from the rest during the escape from Imperial space. They made their way through Hutt Space and into the independent territories of the Outer Rim, where they hid on Naboo from the pursuing Imperial forces.

But the Empire found them.

Two weeks ago, we told you about the forthcoming Battle of Naboo. Tonight, just in time for (the end of) Star Wars Day, I am thrilled to announce that the Battle of Naboo has begun! Three threads have been posted, and more are to come:

• The Battle of Naboo: Theed
• The Battle of Naboo: Grassy Plains
• The Battle of Naboo: Space Combat
• The Battle of Naboo: The Swamps
• The Battle of Naboo: The Emperor's Retreat (DEATH ENABLED)

Like the Battle of Coruscant a year and a half ago, this is an event. It's not a competition. To that end, this battle - unlike almost all other battles we write - will be NO DEATH, with the exception of one death-enabled thread that is also forthcoming. The "no death" rule also includes "no maiming, no incapacitating, and no capturing." You are also welcome to create your own off-shoot threads, but I would encourage you to wait until you see the remainder of the official threads before doing so.

Additionally, we know how this battle will end. Not with anything on the level of Coruscant, but this moves the story in a direction that it needs to go in order to keep things fresh. We're not going to necessarily tell you the ending, though, since it's an ending that works regardless of the tactical outcome.

Anyone can join any thread. There are no sign ups. Just make sure you exercise common sense, i.e. if it seems like a thread is full, consider joining another thread. The battle, as it stands, is primarily for the Galactic Rebellion, the New Sith Imperium, and the New Jedi Order. If it makes sense for characters from the Hutt Cartel or independent factions to be there, then feel free to join in. Later on in the thread, we'll be joined by other forces who will help shape the future of the rebellion against the Empire.

This is the most important point: because the outcome is already known and the threads are no-death, this isn't about winning or competition. This is about working together to create an amazing story. The potential to create an epic story together is incredible. Make it as fun as possible for you and everyone, not just yourself!

Sure! I'll join you with both of the Cathar's in the Library. Seemed logical - thought about splitting the two brothers and sending one to the grassy plains but in the end, both in a single space should work out better. Let's have some fun.

I must admit, I was also rather hesitant to jump into the Theed thread given how many people seem to be jumping into that one compared to the others. I just figured 'what the heck' though since space isn't really my thing and it made more sense for my lad to be in a city than a line battle.

Yeah, when I woke up this morning none of the 8am+ posts were there. And there were no Imperials yet. I thought to myself great timing. Unfortunately I was too late, haha. Hey those in the Library should feel fortunate that a Sith Lord won't me knocking on their door. :34:
