Tanaab

Taanab_JA.png

Taanab was a planet of green meadows in the Taanab system. It was primarily used for agriculture and farming. Its populace was known for always maintaining an air of formality.

For millenia, there has been a Jedi Chapter house on Taanab, rebuilt by the New Jedi Order after destruction by COMPNOR fanatics during the reign of emperor Palpatine. Since then, it has been a house of learning for Jedi as they tour the galaxy, protecting against the dark. In recent decades, the Chapter house has seen a decline, leading to its decomission by the Jedi, and its deconstruction as the Jedi presence pulls out.

But the prize of this Chapter house still remains. 4 holocrons, with great teachings on using the force and the blade, rest in the central compound of the Chapter house, guarded by a small Jedi presence as the rest of the ancient building is pulled apart around them. Already, outer walls and turrets are gone, leaving only the building itself...

Well, our first proper Sith-Jedi Skirmish! This will take place amidst the Jedi chapter house between 4 knights and 4 marauders. The posting order will be thus:
Trellheim, Sreeya, Will, Matt, Mars, Sid, Phil, Rev.

We'll put names in when it's all worked out. Good luck to all!

The roaring of engines fell on deaf ears in the cramped cockpit space of the shuttle Loctus. The ancient transport guzzled fuel by the second as it shot like a bullet through Tanaab's atmosphere.

NK-44, droid pilot by design, sat silent at the helm, deftly operating the control mechanisms of the ship. Locking in and engaging the correct coordinates of the Jedi chapter house, NK brought the accelerator forward slowly, watching through holoperceptic eyes as the speed odometer increased by small increments until reaching the top of the dial.

With the press of a button auto-pilot was immediately activated, and NK sat back for the ride. No matter the flak or fire that would be thrown out by any simple defenses the chapter house presented, whatever smoking hulk remained was aimed directly at the heart of the Jedi's stronghold itself.

--

The crunch of leaves underfoot was quickly muffled as Iniquitous stepped as lightly as possible through the dense foliage. His eyes trained ahead, he slipped from shadow to shadow, trudging through one of the humid forests of Tanaab's surface.

The cold, steel hilt of his lightsaber dangled menacingly on his belt, and the newly promoted Marauder wore it proudly. Constructed just before his advancement and on his first full assignment, Iniquitous was ready to prove his worthiness to the mantle of full warrior of the Sith.

The masked presence of Andraste, his partner, was a obscure dot in the Force. Both moved swiftly, approaching the Jedi base with a schedule to keep. In the distance Iniquitous made out the peeking light of the sun, soon accompanied by the massive crash of metal on worn rock. Smoke rose above the treeline, and Iniquitous quickened his pace.

Motioning for Andraste to follow, Iniquitous darted into the open, searching for the door to gain entrance to the facility. Entering from the west side and coordinated with another team, Iniquitous extended his hand palm out and blasted the lock off the heavy door. Stepping into the Jedi compound for the first time Iniquitous scanned the inner chamber, his hand falling immediately to his lightsaber. The dark side began to swirl within him, forming a powerful torrent ready to be unleashed on any opponent's who would dare show themselves. Moving in quietly, he unhooked his saber from his belt and stepped fully into the room.

"Let's get in and out of here as fast as we can," he muttered, half to himself and half to Andraste. Searching for another door, Iniquitous forayed into the formerly sovereign Jedi grounds.

Andraste followed quickly behind Iniquitous, light on her feet. The booming explosion shook the foundations of the outpost. It was enough to distract anyone within the building, giving the Sith an opportunity to rush into it. The Marauder scanned her immediate surroundings, her connection to the Force not picking up anyone in her vicinity. Andraste could feel Iniquitous calling the Force to himself. She closed her eyes, though she opened them in another world. It was as if submerging herself underwater, into the ocean of the Force. She swam through it, feeling the ripples that Iniquitous created. She could feel the energies of the other two Sith, forming a mental bond with them.

Andraste opened her eyes, her hand resting on the hilt of her saber on her hip. She walked with quick steps, fully alert for any movement. She felt the Force accumulating within her. As a Sith that focused more on the Force, she had a vast reservoir of energy she could call from. She planned on conserving her powers, making sure not to mentally exhaust herself. Andraste knew Iniquitous was more proficient with the blade than her, and they would work well as a team. She sent a quick telepathic message to the other Sith after ensuring that no Jedi would be able to pick it up.

"We're in. Secure the other end."

Without waiting for any replies, she delved further into the compound. Electricity danced between her fingers, the Force fully at her command. She was fully prepared to engage a Jedi in battle.

Nikola stood at the doors, a statue clad in Cortosis-weave durasteel alloy, the armour passed down through the family for over 200 years. Eyes like chips of jade stared forward unwavering. Before him, small outlying buildings were scattered, the last vestiges of the chapter house hunkering down behind the wall.

He shuddered. A disturbance. The disturbance drew his vision up. A shuttlecraft, bearing down upon them. Nikola scowled. The creeping corruption of the dark side was present. This reeked of Sith.

Prepare. Defend the Chapter house.

With a snap-crack, Nikola's pure white lightsabre ignited, the pure blade hard to look at in its brilliance. He crouched, feeling the welcome rush of the force as it flowed through him, propelling himself in a mighty leap towards the shuttle as it rushed toward the small building.

With a flash, his blade cut through the cockpit, bisecting the droid. With a push of the force, the two, smaller pieces of shuttle slammed into the walls instead, forming a mighty breach in the Jedi's only defence.

All of a sudden, feelings of darkness came unbidden to him in a wave. The feeling was as if raw sewage had washed over him, making him gag.

He realised now that he was far from his fellow guards.

Stay near the holocrons. They are the only things of worth left. I'll get back to you.

His weapon held up, like a torch, Nikola jogged back to the small building housing the precious knowledge of the order.

Christian was leaning gently against one of the nearby wall trying his best to try and understand one of the horrible bloody scenarios that the Jedi Masters had given them trying to keep them on there toes.

''What would happen if a non sentient life form attacked the compound? I despair I truly do! There is nothing on this bloody world except this boring old place and now I'm talking to myself just to make it worse!''

He shook his head at his own strange conversation with himself as a disturbance in the force hit him like a jack hammer which was promptly followed by a rather large explosion....I bet the Masters never thought of this as a possible scenario for this place.

And now the dark side was creeping through the chapter house to make the situation even more confusing.....Christian thought it best to find the others as he had no idea what on earth was happening.

While Adraste and Inquitous came in from the West, another pair approached and would enter from the South. The Force was already tainted by the presence of the recently-promoted but highly promising first pair and the second group only furthered this.

A dark stain would be left on these grounds regardless of if this battle was won or lost by the Sith present. A robed figure came quickly from the west, heading straight for the temple whilst he transformed his internal rage and pain into power. Years of neglect and abuse had left the Zabrak a tough, if overly vengeful, Sith warrior. He saw the Jedi as false prophets and outright liars who claimed to protect the innocent. Where were they when he was in that man's basement for most of his younger years? The dark side had allowed him to win and through victory his chains had been broken.

He wore black medium armor with cortosis woven plates on his chest, forearms, thighs and shins with a black hood shrouding his face and a cape flowing behind him. On his hands were the Sith Alchemy forged gauntlets that could stop lightsabers in there tracks and on his face a mask formed through similar means that fed the young Marauder even more anger and despair. It was as if the mask was a deep well of suffering and anguish, taking it in for later use by him. It was today he would tap that source and unleash it upon the Jedi scum.

Stepping into the other entrance, his lightsaber in hand and the dark side in his veins, Varek shot back a message to his sister.

"As are we. Entrance secured."

Kronos had felt Andraste's mind brush against theirs a moment before her message came through. But he had known that already, had known they would be there on time, had not really had any doubts in that. After all they were Sith and one of them, Iniquitous, had even been his student at a time. What mattered now was that they continue with their part. He had volunteered for this mission upon hearing the mention of Holocrons, ones that had been in Jedi procession, ones that no Sith might have read in a long time. That had intrigued him. He knew there was no chance that the holocrons would help further his own goals, but his thirst for knowledge was strong enough for him to work his way into the strike team.

A moment later he and Varek had moved in from the south and he felt a small Force pulse being sent out by Varek, probably informing the other team of their success. Kronos on the other hand concentrated his focus deep into himself, calling upon memories old yet fresh. Memories of things learnt, of murder and death. If ever there was a time when he could use them to his advantage it was now. Within seconds he was ready, his mind alert, his body pulsing with the Force.

"Steady, My friend."

Predor Logath had said to Christian, standing behind him. How long the tall green skinned man had been standing there was anyone's guess. Something was amiss here, and it struck any smile or joy that may have been on Predor's face as the sick feeling crept to his mind and stomach. There was a dark presence here, one that he and his fellows would recognize as no ordinary kind of Darkness.

"I feel that we should go and secure any other entrances into the Chapter, I don't like this. Not one bit."

He was now gripping his lightsaber that remained clipped to his sash around his waist. A drip of sweat came down near the back of his head as he turned around to look south of his direction. The Jedi were not alone here.

The Chapter House had always been a peaceful place, at least that is what Aÿisha Remy had been told before arriving. It seemed today however, it would be far different than any other. The Knight had found herself within one of the many botanical gardens that filled the house, this one lying on the westernmost section of the compound. This garden in particular had been sealed off from the rest, many of the plants exotic and lush; the vaulted greenhouse put in to accommodate the lifeforms within.

She held been kneeling next to a rather large orchid looking planet; only far more deadly. The thorns carried enough poison in their 'veins' to kill most humans in minutes, a Jedi, a few hours. It was at an inhale she heard a thunderous bang only a hallways stretch away. The dark presence that followed was a familiar taste to her, but vastly foreign in so many ways. The pit it created within her gut nearly brought an ache to her body, but the lightside was no force to be reckoned with; as it would guide her.

"As are we. Entrance secured."

The faint message seemed to be broadcasted to someone in particular, but with no direct outcry. Her initial and only feeling was that what she just heard in her meditation had something to do with the sound she had also heard. Her body would remain calm, her meditation relaxing her in some sense. With a deep exhale she would feel the Force flow more openly through her before finally exhaling. Remy's eyes would open as her body rose to its feet. The Guardian of the Order simply stared ahead at the atrium's durasteel doorway, openly expecting what she felt to soon come bursting through..

Iniquitous' massive form slipped silently deeper into the Jedi's complex. The cold, hard stone floors required a light step and a slight push from the Force to refute the emanating slap that would ring through the halls.

His mind alert and his body tensed and ready for action, Iniquitous extended his conscious thought outwards, probing and scanning their surrounding area. Small blips of the light side were as visible as fireflies in the deepest of night and one, a powerful light that shone in the Force, was targetted directly by the team.

With a quick wave of his hand Iniquitous alerted Andraste as they changed directions abruptly, headed in a direct beeline for the Temple's atrium. Only a rough sketch of the facility had been provided to them, but with the signature in the Force and their basic knowledge Iniquitous made his way through the chapter house with as much speed and stealth as he could afford.

This was the moment where he wished he was capable of masking his presence in the Force, he thought. As quietly as they moved in the dim corridors it didn't account for the swirling nexus of hatred and rage that spun itself in the soul of Iniquitous. The Sith Marauder was a beacon of the Sith, but he worked to cloak and hide this signature as much as possible while not overtly drawing himself from his attention. Whether this would be successful he doubted but any element of surprise and sneakiness the teams could garner would be welcome indeed.

Iniquitous rounded a corner, his large hands gripping his lightsaber hilt all the more tightly in pure anticipation. Any ounce of fear that had once gripped his heart was now transformed into white hot hate, pounding a brilliant din in his ears in the absence of true physical sound.

The teams had discussed strategy and tactics before leaving and Iniquitous shot Andraste a message, conveying the meaning of his cobbled-together plan to her with one quick thought.

Without another inhibition Iniquitous released all holds, flooding the hallway with the dark side. His rage flowed through the space and the Marauder could feel the air crackling with tangible energy all around him.

Iniquitous stepped out of the shadows, striding boldly through the halls of the Jedi chapter house. Depressing the activation button of his lightsaber the blood red blade leaped into existence, casting a crimson taint on the stone walls.

Iniquitous extended his opposite hand, palm forward, and blasted the main doors to the temple's atrium open with undisguised vigor and strength.

The darkness was come.

Andraste promptly broke away from Iniquitous, parting ways and following her own path. Her mental link to him and the other Sith remained strong. She did not quicken her pace, simply striding around the side corridors as if she had always belonged there. She appeared unconcerned by the prospect of running into a Jedi, though she felt the presence of one nearby. As Iniquitous rounded in through the main entrance, Andraste slipped in from behind, spotting the Jedi in the distance.

She saw the dark hair, instantly realizing that it was a woman. If their plans worked, she would be gazing directly at Iniquitous, who burst in through the Atrium. Andraste's arrival would put her behind the woman, cornering her fully. Andraste felt lightning rush to the palm of her hand as an opening attack. However, she changed her mind, closing her eyes as a smile formed on her face. She waved her hand, the lightning dissipating. Andraste slowly walked over to the woman who would fully feel her Force aura by now.

"Aren't you a little lost? Or perhaps a bit slow on the uptake.. "

She grinned, making no motion towards her saber. Andraste came to stand beside the woman, silently nodding at Iniquitous to watch for other Jedi who would no doubt be arriving on the scene. Andraste turned back to the woman.

"You know, for the bad guys, I'd say we made a pretty classy entrance. What do you think?"

Nikola stumbled as a wave of dark energy swept through him. The very feeling of its presence made him retch, his gorge rising.

He hastened his way back to the inner sanctum of the chapter house, the strong doors barred shut, keeping the holocrons safe. His weapon threw out stark shadows onto the walls.

He planted himself in front of them, sensing out, finding the great wells of darkness surrounding the chapter house.

Where are you all? Any status on the attackers?

Christian was most perplexed now, turned out he was not infact talking to himself and was talking to Predor Logath which did wonders for Christian own personal feelings about his own mental state.

However now was the time to try and get some form of coherency about what the bloody hell was going on with the loud noises and rather ghastly forces presences sweeping through the place and now another jedi was trying to contact him through the force, it really was to much for a gentlemen's mind.

''Tell you what Predor, I'll follow you as you seem to have some form of decisive leadership skills bubbling to the surface and my mind seems somewhat frazzled by all the loud noises and such''

Varek had made it rather deep into the structure before one of the shining lights were close enough to be a threat. The "Kraken" as he was known stood in the way of the Zabrak warrior and his ultimate goal, the holocrons. Luckily for him the Jedi was alone, no aid in sight and now isolated by one of the Sith's more talented and experienced Marauders. He said not a word as he approached, no mindless banter before the combat began.

His red-bladed lightsaber jumped into his right hand and a small well of what was essentially raw energy gathered onto his left. An eerie calmness came over the young Zabrak as he closed the distance to just under ten meters, a quick telepathic warning shot to his partner of the coming attack, not that Nikola would sense it anyway. The energy exploded outward from his left hand in a incredibly bright flash, seeking to blind his new found opponent before engaging with his saber which swept up diagonally towards his left to neatly slice through his torso. However, the motion did not stop there as the saber then swung towards the right in an arc, crossing the blade over to cut throug Nikola's neck. With this second motion, Varek pivoted on his right foot to put himself diagonally behind Nikola's left shoulder and brought his saber down for a vertical strike from behind.

If his ally acted appropriately the first casualty would be a Jedi.

Kronos felt the message from Varek and knew immediately what he wanted from him. This Jedi was alone and together they should be able to finish him off without much fuss.

Moving quickly but stealthily, he reduced the distance between himself and the Jedi and while Varek moved in from the left, Kronos himself moved to the right. He stopped a few meters away from the Jedi, behind and off to his right and reached out to the Force. He did not draw his saber, what he had in mind did not require a glowing blade of crimson. Instead he raised his left hand and extended an imaginary hand out through the Force. Exerting his will over the Force he grasped the Jedi's neck and tightened the hand's grip on the Jedi's neck, attempted a simple choking maneuver; simple, but strong. At the time he gathered the Force in his other hand and pointed the tips of his fingers, now tingling with bright blue lightning, straight at the Jedi's right shoulder, blasting him with Force lightning.

Predor had given a single nod to Christian as he focused on where the darkness was coming from, and he honed in on it. There was another there, another Jedi who was cornered by the Sith who had invaded. He and Christian would need to act fast to make sure none of then perished.

"In the Gardens, we're heading there now to stop them."

Predor sent the quick telepathic message towards Nikola. He then turned his attention towards Christian.

"We need to move fast, keep up and be ready when we stop!"

He shouted before fully focusing in on where the other Jedi and the other Sith were, then Predor was off like a comet. Using the Force to speed his movements down the halls as fast as he could, sensing when to turn and push a door open. When he arrived, he had charged through the doors in the gardens that were not for the others. There he saw Aÿisha and two more Sith he had sensed.

"You Sith have no business here. If you flee now, you will live to regret your choices."

Predor said with a stern look on his face, though it was obvious he was ready for combat the moment the Sith decided to refuse his offer. He only hoped that Christian was right behind him, for this may get violent fast.

The darkness grew outward like nothing the Knight had ever felt before. The beacon like radiance of Iniquitous' darkside energy exploded in a blast of energy at the doorway, only to continue through to send chills up Aÿisha's own spine. Her body however held its ground, the push of air forcing her thread thin strands of hair into a flurry. On the outside her body remained composed, awaiting for whatever was to come, but within her emotions swirled with control; ready to explode on whomever came through those doors.

As the dust began to settle another pit began to form in the depths of the young woman's stomach; more darkside energy. It was like being hit by a powerful wave, the feeling quickly rushing over her only to dissipate, still lingering in the back of her mind. The pale woman appeared from almost no where, her dark energy surging throughout the area, but posing no immediate threat.

"There are more important matters for you to attend to than personal appearance... Sith."

She spat the last word with hatred, knowing first hand what the darkside could do to someone. It could change them beyond all belief, making them into someone they never thought of themselves becoming. The appearance of the other two Knights reassured her that everything was going to turn out as planned. Glancing at the distance between the two as Andraste pulled in close, the Knight smirked.

"What brings the like of you h-..."

She cut herself off in mid-sentence to spring forward. The Advanced Teräs Käsi practitioner more than lethal when necessary targeted the Sith's neck. Her hope was that the shock to the carotid artery and jugular would incapacitate the Marauder. Meanwhile her less dominant left hand drove straight at Andraste's stomach in hopes of knocking the wind from her lungs.

OoC: Trell agreed to switch order with me cuz I'm engaging Rev directly. Rev is also cool with this.

Andraste rolled her eyes at the other Jedi that had rushed up to join them.

"Flee? But we just got here. That's no way to treat guests."

Though she addressed a different Jedi, she snapped back to alertness when the female next to her spoke. Andraste could feel a twinge of emotions pulsating from the woman. It was delicious, feeding into the cesspool of dark energy welling up inside her. She had to grin, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end to suggest that the Jedi planned on being hostile. Andraste saw the incoming attack. Instead of ducking, she jerked her own right hand up and caught the woman's wrist. She promptly pivoted around the back, holding the woman's arm and twisting it behind her back. Andraste had moved with the woman, making her second attack useless. She tightly pinned her arm against her back, pushing upwards and applying pressure. The action would cause pain, but it wasn't harsh enough to dislocate. Andraste remained behind the woman, leaning in to rest her chin on the woman's left shoulder, her eyes peering out at the two Jedi that had arrived. Her words were audible only to the woman.

"So much anger in you. Why do you deny it? It's such a sensual calling, like the whisper of a lover, a gentle melody to take you away from it all. You can get lost in it and dive into it, submerge yourself into its depths. You feel it, don't you? Deep from the pits of your stomach. It blossoms like a plant, its roots extending all throughout you. From there it flows to your limbs, through your arms, up to every last fingertip. It's control.. so much control.."

She had stopped speaking a long time ago, the latter of her sentences melting into the Jedi's mind seductively like poison in its most elegant form. It was tainted with darkness, and it would begin to cloud the Jedi's mind, forming a symbiotic relationship with the anger already emanating from her.

((I hope no one minds me jumping in, but, seeing as my post would be death, no matter what, I may as well. If Trell is annoyed, I can delete it and all that))
Nikola saw them both. It was obvious, the gathering of darkness about him. He steeled himself for battle, hefting his weapon.

Until Predor Lorath sent him a message, spewling his words into Nikola's thoughts. Nikola was shocked. He paused for a second, overcome by the ludicrous nature of what Predor had said.

Predor there are
two here! Are you incom-

A flash stopped him. Immediately, he dropped.

He could not. Something pinned him in place, crushing his neck, revoking his ability to even breathe. He struggled as his life began to flee him.

And then pain. Unimaginable pain. His next message was a scream. Almost incoherant.

YOU HAVE KILLED ME PREDOR LORATH! YOU HAVE KILLED US ALL!

The pain of the lightning blended with the pain of betrayal. In his last moments, before slipping from consciousness as three of his limbs left his body, his centre mass saved by his struggles, he allowed himself a small boon. Anger. Anger at the Jedi, who had betrayed him. Anger at his sheer incompetence. Anger at his unworthiness of the title of Knight. It burned bright, his incandescent rage. But it burned quick.

He dropped to the floor, unconscious, smoking, limbless. Comatose.

(( SO ANNOYED, MAN, SO ANNOYED :) ))

The shockwave was tangible, if anything, a short ripple through the consciousness of the Force as if a candle had been quickly snuffed by a deft hand. A wide grin spread over Iniquitous' rough features as the Jedi fell, and he sucked in the dark energy that swirled around the garden, the air almost crackling with the energy.

A Jedi appeared in the passageway, his words an empty threat and useless which reflected the overall disposition of the man himself. Andraste shot off a curt reply before focusing on the Jedi they had initially moved in on, and Iniquitous took two great strides to bar the path to his fellow Crusader.

"Your existence ends here, scum," he said simply, his voice devoid of any mockery and filled with a grim assurance born of experience and skill. His lightsaber hummed menacingly at his side.

As Andraste spoke to the Jedi behind him Iniquitous was well aware he need to keep the two parties apart, and within a moment his mind was made up. Iniquitous rushed forward in a blur of motion, his back bent as his legs charged forward to cover the open space.

Iniquitous reached the green-skin in only a few steps, but instead of engaging him with his drawn lightsaber he instead allowed the energy that had pent up inside the darker parts of his soul to be released in a concussive burst outwards, the power being released in a wave that emanated outwards around him. As the blast made it's way to the plants the one's closet and within the epicenter were sliced in half and others towards the perimeter blown back as if a great gust of wind had rocked the atrium.

Iniquitous spun on his heel, locating the position of the Jedi who had called Andraste out. The man, a strange, human-green alien hybrid, was easy to pick out among the devastated trees, and in his peripheral vision Iniquitous clearly saw Andraste working the other Jedi. With a fierce roar Iniquitous rushed the hybrid, his huge form tensed for action. The Crusader crossed the space in a matter of swift strides and brought his lightsaber in front of him, bringing the screaming blade in for a slash directed at the alien's left lower torso.

"So this was glory," he thought, engaged in combat with members of his former order and working in harmony with other warriors of the Imperial Sith Order itself.

They could not fail.
