The Bombing of New Adasta

Located around the great Citadel, New Adasta is the largest city on the planet of Ziost. There is a spaceport and various tranning facilies for the Sith's army. There is a mixture of Sith military officials and civilians living inside of the city, but just as the Sith have slaughtered thousands of innocent citizens on countless planets, a few sacrifices here must be made. These pilots will have an easier job, as they will lay massive payloads of bombs throughout the city and then dip out on lightspeed. There may be air resistance, but the bulk of the Fleet will be defending the Citadel and engaging our forces at the Defense System.

Devhec brought his ship into the planet's atmosphere below him was the city of New Adasta, a rag tag group of ships trailled behind him none them looking the same , Dev didn't think that a single one was originally designed as a bomber but all of them had been modified to unleash a massive amount of ordinance on the city below.

"Outlaw Command this Nasski Second team is nearing it's objective over" Dev sent over the radio hopefully however was running this show hasn't bailed yet he thought to himself.

Already ships were breaking off from the formation each going to a different section of the city in the hopes of maximizing the damage. Dev was plotting his course to the city center figuring that would garner him the most recognition, renown and money that's why Dev was doing this. The civilians that will be effected by what he was about to to barely even crossed Dev's mind.

With the city rapidly drawing closer Dev lowered his altitude and checked is weapons systems cargo space had been sacrificed to make way for an torpedo launchers as well as a bomb rack, and the mounted turrert was rigged to target automatically with assistance from the astro droid. His ships comms were already alive with reports from the other teams as they engaged their targets just as he reached the city's edge.

A hub of activity for the Sacred Band of Ziost the skies would constantly have craft of both military and civilian nature moving about so it would not be long before the numerous hostile craft would be taken notice of and engaged. for the moment over New Adasta there would not be a commander. but if the ships had not been stopped in orbit than the forces in space would still take notice of a contingent of vessels attempting to make unapproved planetfall which would be communicated to the ground forces.

meanwhile Geir Ambros walked towards his starfighter along with a dozen or so starfighters already scrambling to get out of the hangar. they wanted to both prevent any damage to their home as well as get the glory of taking out any enemy opposition. the offshoot had been on the planet dealing with business that was often required of a moff while also some dral things that had to do with being a sith lord. he welcomed a fight and since the last time he had experienced a proper aerial fight had been a minute he would enjoy utilizing his skills in aerial combat against a foe.

he did not wear a flight suit as most did, instead he wore his custom arbitrator PAK as he found it more comfortable than the thin and easily damaged flight suits the other pilots wore. he knew the battlefield could change in an instant and so who knew if he needed to do some unorthodox maneuver and leave his ship in the midst of a dogfight though he doubted that would be necessary. his two lightsabers along with his normal weapons and tools adorned his person which would be hidden as the cockpit to his vessel sealed.

the Ziost Hunter was outfitted with an astromech droid but he had no attachment to the droid. he had only recently had become attached to his personal translator and that was just out of familiarity and extensive time. still he wouldn't really care if he had to wipe the GE3's memory and so the astromech would not make the Darth feel anything if it were damaged or destroyed.

accelerating quickly the host of starfighters sped towards the enemy contacts. some were from his own troops as one of his War Leviathans was in orbit while the rest were from Ziost or in transition to another command. Geir communicated with the squadron leader to coordinate flight patterns and enemy locations so they wouldn't have any collisions in flight or risk damaging the ground below. the starfighters would be on the makeshift bombers in a moment as they were just specks in the distance for the time being. Geir smiled slightly and just fired a hail of laser shots at the distance. it was not accurate and easily dodgeable especially at the distance they were at but it could potentially soften up the enemy as well as make them divert their flight pattern, otherwise they would have to take the damage and hope their shields and hull armor could hold out.

The barrage lasers flew past his ship and even struck one of the bombers to his left causing the pilot to panic and break from the group. "Scatter" Dev ordered the bombers that had remained near by. The ships did so splitting from each other in every direction.

Dev maintained his course his chosen target the New Adasta spaceport was just coming into view and while the fighters on his tail will most certainly catch up to him he was confident it could avoid them for long enough to complete his objective.

"Get that turret ready to target the fighters behind us " Dev yelled at his astro droid as he brought his ship towards the city's surface. Buildings whizzed by just below him as Dev flew across through the city level with tallest of skyscrapers making it difficult for any fighters to attack from below and to minimize the risk of any anti-air that may be present in the city. The turret begun firing as the fighters entered it's maximum range as they closed the gap between them.

smoke billowed and debris that had once belonged to an opposing craft fell towards the surface of the planet. at a high altitude the starfighters would have an advantage but perhaps these pilots performing this strike knew a thing or two. avoiding the starfighters that were coming upon their tail as well as Geir's own forces heading towards them head on they dove towards the city's skyline in the hopes to find asylum amongst the tall structures.

at worst it just evened the playing field as in open air his fighters had and advantage. there was a large Alabaster class freighter that was an easier target than the others that his troops began intercepting. they were not without their teeth though an managed to take out a few of the ziost hunters as they headed towards the metropolitan area.

Geir didn't know as much about aerial combat as he probably should be he knew that the closer one was to the surface the harder it was for a bombing run to be accurate. sure it allowed less time for anti-missile and bomb fortifications to take out the payload in mid flight but it also lowered the targeting window and hit box making a hit harder to land. in addition that structures and buildings would force the larger makeshift bombers at a disadvantage. all ships, both sith and their opposition would have to deal with decelerating and accelerating regularly keeping them at a slower overall speed. he doubted the ships they utilized were more maneuverable than the dexterous ziost hunters. mobility wise the enemy's ships were overall slower, less maneuverable, and had lower acceleration but perhaps they had something up their sleeves.

Geir shot at the alabaster freighter as it presented its side to him trying to move towards the city. he led his shots, making sure they would strike but cut them off early so as to not accidentally strike the skyscrapers that the ship was using as cover. he would lose sight of the escort freighter for a moment but he hopped to see his shots land and pursue the vessel if it continued its trajectory. it likely had some armament so and the moff's pupils searched for any inkling as to what type of armaments it possessed.

Dev maneuvered his freighter through the City's skyline, he had lost speed by using the skyscrapers to block the interceptors but it achieved its purpose, the smaller craft had to fly at a much slower speed as while as take their own civilians into account but it was clear Dev hadn't thought things completely through.

As much as he would had to admit it Dev had forgotten to take into account the smaller fighters maneuverability as the shots from the Zoist fighter struck his shields forcing Dev to change tactics.

Pulling up Dev took his freighter out of the city skyline rolling the ship upside down so that the twin heavy laser cannon mounted on the roof of the freighter would fire at any ships attempting to attack from from below at full auto. These shots would hopefully damage or at least deter any pursuers from attacking from that angle as Dev would roll his ship into the direction of any incoming fighter although admittedly it would still be a little slower than any interceptor .

Dev was sticking to his original target of the the spaceport pushing his ship to its limits. His new altitude would be appropriate for a bombing run but in all likely hood he would be forced to maneuver and potentially deviate from this course .

Anyone observing Dev's freighter will notice that in addition to its crudely attached bomb rack the ship was armed with an automated twin heavy laser cannon that was mounted on top of the ship as well as Two fixed laser cannons and a torpedo tube and a standard Shield generator.

the man lost sight for a moment as he came around in a curved following maneuver to follow on the freighter's tail only to see it rise in the sky and be at a higher altitude. not only that but it was rolling as it gained altitude until it was upside down. Geir realized that the weapons system on the ship were on its top so now the moff was on the most capable offensive side of the ship.

gunning the acceleration he no longer followed directly towards the freighter but instead chose to climb in altitude at an alarming rate. he wasn't able to continually fire at the ship at this point but the speed at which he would cross the laser cannon's view would make him a harder target. hopefully the speed at which the weapons were capable at acquiring targets were all that fast and hopfully they didn't lead their targets either. Geir's hopes were affirmed as one of his own fighters following his maneuver was struck by a shot probably aimed for him.

whomever was in that freighter was good and now since he had been forced to evade the cannon fire from the freighter he was slightly behind. but he soon arrived out of the line of sight directly on the freighter's tail albeit a slight distance behind it. once again he gunned the acceleration of the ziost hunter to catch up to the freighter. being slightly above the upside down craft and behind it Geir and his fighter were essentially in its blind spot. as he moved towards the freighter's dauntless trajectory he fired a barrage of laser cannon fire from the two weapons on his ship.

the two of them were on similar trajectories so maneuvering out of the way would have been possible if it had been a swift craft like an interceptor or starfighter but the large size of the alabaster meant that it probably had to rely on shields but now it awaited to be seen if it had anything greater than a standard shield array that was only meant to really defend against minimal damage.

Dev felt a wave a panic as the the fighter's shots depleted the lasted of his shields. "Griff This !" he shouted in his cockpit putting as the Freighters computer screamed warnings at him.

With the space port just out of range Dev released his ships payload of bombs early the majority of them falling short of the intended target and instead detonating among the buildings and streets around the space port. The final few bombs hit the spaceport it's self causing significant damage to it, however they weren't enough to cripple the port on their own.

Just as the final bomb was released from the ship Dev pulled up activating the ships Hyper-drive however he was unsure if the the now unshieled ship would hold for for long enough for it to activate and glanced behind him where the nearest escape pod was located just a few feet from the cockpit.

Geir smiled at the man and continued firing as he chased after the light freighter. it had come into the edge of its bombing run most likely but was still turned upside down in its attempt to previously take him out. releasing any bombs would be ineffectual since it probably relied on gravity to have them fall to the surface and detonate. at worst case sinario for the makeshift bomber it would detonate inside the ship but he doubted they would be that foolish. most likely it would just have nothing happen.

the man would climb exposing the ship's belly since it would be a nose dive upwards if he wanted to gain altitude. Geir followed after him, continuing to fire. the size of the light freighter was becoming larger and easier to hit as he gained on it especially since it exposed a larger target due to the turn. the offshoot moff was not aiming for any specific part of the ship but it could potentially strike some of the ordinance and destroy the ship if ti activated the hazardous explosives with his cannon fire. he could potentially fire a concussion missile but he held his finger from firing the weapon system.

the pilot was on an escape vector but had yet to do any significant damage to the spaceport. he could try to maneuver and come around for another bombing run but the window for the one he had been committed to earlier was gone. he risked getting shot down by Geir in an attempt to complete his mission or he could escape without striking his target.

Maintaining his course Dev continued with his escape sweating as he was expecting that at any moment a missile or hail of Cannon fire would would send his ship plummeting to the ground. Thankfully it never came as Dev abandoned his Bombing run to commit to his escape. Once the Hyper Drive was charged Dev would activated it plotting a course at random.

The Freighters Drives once engaged propelled Dev's ship at the speed of light away from this planet and hopefully any attackers. While the results of the bombing run where disappointing to Dev he was honestly just glad to of survived and hoped he wondered if his Employer would still pay him the full amount.

the ship was fast in its getaway, if it had perhaps been lighter armored it would have lost engine power before it could have jumped. pulling on the steering yoke the offshoot veered off to engage the remaining forces and clear the skies over New Adasta. the other ziost hunts were eliminating those that had taken too long to escape or were foolish enough to remain. ground forces would sweep any ejected pilots and check for infiltration units.

there were bombers and other capital craft in orbit that would take out opposing vessels of large size as well but it seemed they had only come for a hit and run. still they would remember the loss here and hopfully it would prevent them from trying anything again. Geir just rolled his eyes wondering what kind of blame he would probably hear at the next moff meeting if this was counted among it.
