Ask Coruscant The City of Cities

[Ine Cytra]

The supposed amazing journey Ine was supposed to go on was already to a rough start. She underestimated how difficult it would be to navigate a planet-sized city, with multiple layers of cities. She heard many things about Coruscant from second-hand sources, but the reality of the planet was ridiculous. Ine spent hours navigating through the upper levels, mesmerized by the scenery, but slowly made her way through the levels.

Walking through the diverse crowds was a bit of a struggle, and it made Ine very much anxious. Crowds were a good way of picking up information, especially if people were traveling with a partner or a group. Ine would hear about the entertainment district, and it seemed like an exciting place to go to. Although not sure how to exactly get there, Ine figured she would know when she would see it, and she was right.

It was just starting to get late, which you could only know by it getting darker. The entertainment district seemed brighter than any other spot on Coruscant at this time. Once again she walked around mesmerized, wondering how Coruscant could even be constructed in such a way. It felt a little scary when no one else on the planet seemed to have a problem with it. Ine mostly just walked around following the crowds, looking for anything interesting that wasn't sexy girls or drinks. It felt rather stupid, but the crowds would prove useful once again. She heard a rather ugly looking burly man mention a girl with a purple sword that could cut through almost everything. Ine immediately knew what it was, it was a lightsaber, but what is a girl with a lightsaber doing here. "A Jedi probably, what business would they have here though?" The man and his partner seem to had come from a building up ahead, some type of club.

A bright neon sign glowed with the words "Outlander". Ine walked in and was immediately immersed in the atmosphere of the club. The bumping music, the people dancing, and a few shady groups in booths. It then hit Ine for a second, was she even allowed to be in a club? There was no one by the door, and it seems that this club was more willy-nilly than others. She made her way to the bar since asking the bartender for information seemed like the best thing to do. She approached the bar and signaled for the bartender, "Hey! Do you know about a girl with a purple sword?" The bartender paused for a moment and let out a sigh, "Come with me." He lead Ine towards a door next to the bar and unlocked it "Don't piss her off please."

Walking in Ine's eyes would be met by a pink-colored girl with white hair. She was cute looking, although kinda scary at the same time. The door closed behind her, so Ine decided to take a seat across from the girl. "Um, hello there. Are you the girl with the purple lightsaber? I thought it was interesting so I wanted to just come to check it out."

Nima frequents the outlander club, but mostly comes when she expects business, but today was different. After exploring more of the galaxy, Coruscant was growing more and more tiring, maybe it was time to return to Takodana for awhile. Maybe Nima could also search for old Jedi temples, she heard you could find some on uninhabited planets.

Unexpected business seemed to arrive however. A girl with strange red hair, who seemed to be a similar age to Nima. "I hope she isn't here to ask about a missing sister...." she thought to herself. The girl was definitely a force user, knew what a lightsaber was, and didn't look evil; she had to be a Jedi. At this point, anything could be expected, but at least this one seemed to be less of an annoyance than other encounters. "Yes," Nima responded with her notorious monotone voice, "I am the one you are referring to."

Ine was a little surprised by the girl's tone, "Is she trying to sound tough?" she thought. Either way, meeting another Force-user was kind of relieving, but also kind of nerve-racking. It had been five years since she was removed from the order, so she wasn't really sure what was going on that much, but this person didn't seem like a Jedi. They did have that almost emotionless feel that a few masters had, but her dark black outfit was very different than standard Jedi robes.

Ine reached her hand out towards the stranger, "Well I'm Ine, Ine Cytra. I'm from Naboo, just kinda looking for something to do." Her eyes widened quickly as she sat up a bit more in realization, "Oh that rhymed!" It was a complete accident, but none the less it felt rather funny for Ine.

"Anyways I had a feeling you were a force user when I heard people talk about a purple sword. How did you get a purple saber? Can I see it? Are you a Jedi? How is your hair white? What force powers can you use?" Ine bombarded the girl with questions due to curiosity. She hasn't had an actual conversation with another person for a while, and with each question, she leaned forward excited to hear a response.

Nima looked down at Ine's hands as she spoke, but she didn't reach her own hand out for her greeting "Nima, Nima Deleste." She wasn't sure what to make of Ine, the girl didn't seem to have an actual purpose for being here. The also did not seem like a Jedi, and more so a random girl. Could it be an act?

The bombardment of questions felt silly rather than surprising, but she would answer the girl's questions in order: "My father. No. No. Genetics. A couple basic ones." Nima felt almost a little worried about giving away too much information. "Were the questions specifically asked for a reason, and what could she use with that information..." was what Nima thought. For now, she pose her own question to the girl: "Are you a Jedi?"

Ine awkwardly pulled her hand back as it seems Nima wasn't much of the social type. Her responses were straight to the point, although Ine kind of wished for some explanations. Well at least she knew the girl wasn't associated with the Jedi order, although it wasn't clear whether that was a good or bad thing.

From what Ine recalled, Sith always uses red lightsabers, and they would have orange eyes. Nima had neither, so that was relieving. "Was she also kicked out of the order?" Ine also realized that the lightsaber was from Nima's father, maybe she is from a family of Jedi.

However more questions could be asked later, and Ine would respond to Nima: "Well, I was a Jedi at one point. They made me leave a long time ago since I wasn't healthy enough to train or hold a lightsaber." Ine would place her elbows on the table, and then rest her head on her hands.

The girl was rather odd, "What does she mean not healthy enough?" Nima thought. It didn't seem like anything was wrong with Ine; her weight, skin, hair, and just overall appearance seemed normal. Nima assumed it was just some sort of disease, but it still felt weird how energetic Ine was.

Ine's intentions were still unclear. "Are you here for any other reason than curiosity? I'm not open for business today." Nima just wanted to enjoy her own time; No syndicates, no nobles, no Jedi, and certainly not a sick girl.

"Business?" Ine thought, "Does she own the club?" Ine was rather confused about what sort of business this girl could be getting into. Nima didn't seem all that strong, and it didn't seem like she had a strong connection to the force either. Ine recalled Nima saying she knows a couple basic force abilities, and she assumed that Nima has never been a Jedi. There was the possibility that the girl was never trained in the ways of the force.

"What do you usually do then when you're open for business? Hm?" Ine was interested to learn about the life of someone outside of the order since she would have to end up on a similar path as well most likely. Although she is a bit healthier than as a child, Ine still had doubt when it came to rejoining the Jedi order.

If anything, the girl definitely use to be a Jedi at some point with all the questions she asked. "So nosy...". Nima let out a sigh before responding "I guess you can say I'm a mercenary. I do jobs for people; syndicates, rich people, governments, and so on." Nima knew that Ine would respond with more questions, so she decided to just go into detail already. "The jobs usually involve in killing people, finding someone or something, or guarding someone or something."

The girl still had avoided telling Nima her purpose for being here, and it was rather annoying. "Listen, if you want to hire me I charge credits. A lot of credits. Just tell me what you want and leave."

"Ooooh a mercenary, so wha-" Ine was cut off when Nima went ahead and explained what she does. Ine puffed her cheeks angrily since she wanted to ask first, but her mood shifted once Nima continued on.

Ine wasn't really sure exactly what she was looking for. Now that she thought about it, leaving her home planet of Naboo felt like a mistake. "Why did I leave in the first place again?" she thought. Ine looked down pondering what response she should give, and after awhile she would snap her fingers at a realization. "I got it! Could I hire you to train me? I was kicked out of the order very early and most of my time there I was stuck in my room, so I didn't get to learn much." Ine would do her best to put on her innocent puppy eye face to try and coerce Nima.

Well a new type of offer was definitely on the table, but out of all the jobs Nima has been offered this was one of the least appealing ones. For starters, she was more of a lone-wolf type, but there was nothing she could really teach the girl. Like she mentioned before, Nima only knew basic force abilities; lightsaber combat was her specialty. The only problem was that Ine said she was too weak to wield a lightsaber, and the girl still looked tired from walking around the streets of coruscant.

There were two ways to turn down a job offer: saying no or setting a ridiculously high price. Nima chose the second option, in case the girl did so happen to carry a good chunk of credits on her. "3000 credits and I will train you as best I can. Nothing less." No one in their right mind would take that offer since even bounties for that price are rare to come by.

"THREE-THOUSAND CREDITS??!1" Ine didn't even have 3000 credits on her, nor would she even pay that amount. She scratched her head for a moment, "Not a lot of credits, no ship, and I'm still new to Coruscant..." Ine hoped to come up with something. Although she could probably find another opportunity elsewhere, it was a rare chance to get good with another force user, outside of the order.

Once again, Ine snapped her fingers as a thought arrived. "Alright what about this: instead of training me how about you just let me come along with you for missions just to help. You won't even have to pay me." It was a perfect deal, and Ine felt rather proud coming up with a quick-witted idea.

The girl's offer was still very unappealing. Nima only worked with others if she had to, or if they paid her credits. "I gain nothing from you helping me. You're a sick girl who is a novice to the force; you will just slow me down."

Although a second pair of hands wouldn't be too bad to have. The only problem is that this girl has no experience. There aren't really any jobs she could be useful in. The girl was still trying her best to look cute to persuade Nima, so Nima decided to give her a chance to prove herself. "Alright I have a job for you. If you succeed I'll let you work with me. If you fail you'll have to pay me the amount of credits I was going to receive for completing the mission. Does that sound fair to you?"

"AH-" Ine felt like her heart was just stabbed multiple times. She leaned all the way back and let out a sigh "Well, I guess that was expected" Ine wasn't even exactly sure of what she was capable of doing either.

However, Ine quickly leaned back forward once Nima gave her a chance. Ine gasped for a moment, and quickly blurted out "Alright! Just tell me what to do and it'll be done lickity-split." It would be Ine's first chance to actually do a mission. When she was a young Jedi, she watched a lot of her peers become padawans and travel the galaxy.

Nima was starting to doubt whether this would be a good idea, but the mission wasn't necessarily that hard, combat wise.. It would be a somewhat decent test for Ine, but mostly to test how competent she was. "Go to level 5120, then the diplomat hotel, and then room 287. You'll be looking for a fire ruby; it's a type of gemstone."

Standing up, Nima stretched for a moment before continuing. "However I'll be coming to observe you, and to collect the fire ruby once you obtain it. Getting into the hotel and obtaining the fire ruby will be all up to you though. Does that sound fair?"

Ine recalled seeing a giant hotel on her way through the levels, but "LEVEL 5120?! YOU MEAN THE LEVEL RIGHT BELOW THE SURFACE? HOW ARE WE SUPPOSE TO STEAL A CRYSTAL FROM THERE?!" She blurted out loudly while standing up as well. Ine let out a groan while stretching too.

"Whatever lets go do it then, and once I get it I'm gonna rub it in your dumb face" Ine stuck out her tongue to tease Nima. There wasn't much she could do to plan for the mission, since she barely recalls the location. It was also getting late, which means it would be easier to escape rather than stealing in broad-day light.
